@NVDTahir,

Sorry, but I can't bring myself to feel too disappointed that you lost to Everton. Good to see my boys carry on in the cup.

Still thoroughly enjoying your story, and I hope your season continues well.
@Neal: Thanks amigo, I hope I do :)

@BayernAmerica: Oh they won't find me... ;)

@Joethequin: Thanks bro, we'll bounce back next year hopefully :D

@Pompeyblue: Thanks a lot bro!1

@Kaervek: Haha thanks man :)
Unlucky against Everton but I think soon enough you'll be hammering them in to place! Absolutely flying in the league the top flight beckons! Great work mate
@k1rups: Thanks lad :)

February Update

We're slowly getting back to our ways, slowly but surely we can get promotion... the race is ours to lose:

February was a good month, but we needed to win instead of drawing so many games... and right now, a draw is basically two points dropped, NOT a point gained:

Rochdale AFC 4-1 Brentford (H)

Sky Bet Championship

Brian Graham (30', 82')
Mamadou Niang (64')
Luke O'Neill (o.g. 75')
Reece Brown (85')

Brian Graham (Rochdale) -- 9.3

Match Review
We crushed 'em at our ground, a superb victory and we outplayed them in many ways.

Rochdale AFC 0-0 Nottingham Forest (H)

Sky Bet Championship

Josh Wright (Nottingham Forest) -- 7.3

Match Review
As long as we stop Nottingham from taking all three points, I'd take this anyday at all.

Watford 1-1 Rochdale AFC(A)

Sky Bet Championship

Cephas Malele (8')
Scott Hogan (27')

Scott Hogan (Rochdale) -- 8.3

Match Review
Watford were in the form of their lives before this match, so it's nice to see we prevented them from winning easily despite them having home advantage.

Rochdale AFC 0-0 Ipswich (H)

Sky Bet Championship

Ian McLoughlin (Rochdale) -- 7.6

Match Review
Our third draw in a row, this time it was against Ipswich who were league leaders, we played poorly in terms of possession, hence our keeper won the MoTM award due to his saves in the match.

Player of the Month

Matthew Lund won this month's award due to his superb run of performances in our midfield. His performances have sparked up interest from Rangers, who could be bidding for him any time soon...

Here are the fixtures for next month:

Author's Notes

We've lost our promotion spot in this league, but we're not far off it. We can still win the league if things go our way...

ANNOUNCEMENT:
From now onwards for a short while, I will be updating this story slower than usual and will spend less time on this website unfortunately. This is because of other priorities that are coming up soon, e.g. mock exams and coursework. Thank you all very much, peace out :)
You are getting so close. Just keep up the fight and you will be back in the top two spots.
@BayernAmerica: Thanks amigo :)

March Update

We're almost there. Only a few more games to go and we'll probably be in the Premier League at last:

Transfers

IN

OUT

Callum Camps, Maksimenko and Heffernan had to depart this club on free transfers. They were surplus to requirements and would benefit from playing time elsewhere.

March was an excellent month for Rochdale AFC, we're almost there but we need to persevere for our remaining fixtures:

Leicester 1-2 Rochdale AFC (A)

Sky Bet Championship

Scott Hogan (24', 28')
Michal Kadlec (37')

Scott Hogan (Rochdale AFC) -- 8.8

Match Review
We did really well against Leicester, Scott Hogan's brace brought us the three points and moved us closer to Premier League promotion.

Rochdale AFC 2-2 Birmingham (H)

Sky Bet Championship

Scott Hogan (12', 27')
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (16')
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (18')

Scott Hogan (Rochdale AFC) -- 9.0

Match Review
A poor game overall, but we defended well later on in the game, blocking numerous shots and Scott Hogan again scored another brace.

Hull City 1-2 Rochdale AFC (A)

Sky Bet Championship

Scott Hogan (29')
JJamie Mackie (63')
Brian Graham (68')

Sune Kiilerich (Rochdale AFC) -- 7.6

Match Review
We got the victory against Hull City on their turf, moving us ever so closer to a promotion spot.

Rochdale AFC 0-1 Huddersfield (H)

Sky Bet Championship

Chris Eagles (53')

Chris Eagles (Huddersfield) -- 7.6

Match Review
A bitter dent in our promotion hopes, we failed to gain the three points we needed here at Spotland, but we've almost gained a play-off spot.

Middlesbrough 2-2 Rochdale AFC (A)

Sky Bet Championship

Nicholas Ioannou (22')
Marco Futacs (26')
Scott Hogan (pen, 58')
Karl Halliday (pen, 88')

Dean Whitehead (Middlesbrough) -- 7.7

Match Review
We were lucky to draw this one as they dominated us, but it was still a shame to concede a penalty so late in the game.

Rochdale AFC 2-1 Crystal Palace (H)

Sky Bet Championship

Dwight Gayle (40')
Brian Graham (43')
Scott Hogan (71')

Michael Keane (Crystal Palace) -- 7.7

Match Review
We made a comeback in this matchup against Crystal Palace, and moved closer to third place with the bad run of form that placed us into 4th place on the table... We ended the month on a high.

Player of the Month

Scott Hogan has been playing wonderfully over the past month, scoring a phenomenal 7 goals in 6 games, including two consecutive braces at the start of the month... He is only getting better every season here at Spotland.

Here are the fixtures for next month:
