MUTV Interview
Andy Cole: "Hello and welcome to MUTV, today we have our new manager, our new hope, Josh Sleightholm on the screen, as well as Goalkeeping legend Edwin van der Sar giving us some top tips on his goalkeeping acrobats. But first we have the man himself, Josh Sleightholm. So, Josh, I must ask you, were you completely perplexed by the offer giving to you for this job?"
Josh Sleightholm: "Well yes, all I had hoped for was a small job helping out with the young players, but what I have got now is a lot bigger.
Andy Cole: "Do you feel you can live up to the monumental expectations Sir Alex left behind?"
Josh Sleightholm: "I believe so, the chairman believes so, I just need the players, and the fans to do so now, once they do, success will be ours.
Andy Cole: "I'm sure the best way to get the fans on your side is by winning the, what is known as the traditional 'curtain raiser' FA Community Shield, in which you face Championship side Wigan. Do you think it'll be a walk in the park, despite them conquering United's fierce rivals Manchester City?"
Josh Sleightholm: "Well you simply can't look at any match as a 'walk in the park' weather it be a Sunday League match, a friendly, or even a match that the odds are always in your favor for, that's how these upsets happen. A rule of football is, no shin pads, no match. A rule of success, no game face, no success. I will demand 100% from every one of my players, and I know they can give it to me."
Andy Cole: "Certainly some very wise words from a man, with all due respect, no experience managing a football club, do you think that is going to affect your season?"
Josh Sleightholm: "I feel I am more than capable of managing
a football club, but I'd go as far in saying nobody is ever experienced to manage this club, Manchester United. It is the most successful club in Manchester, in England, in the entire, World. It's not a case of club suiting me, its me suiting the club. Success runs in the blood of the club, but, needs guidance. I will be there to do that, for the club, the fans, and eveyone involved, I would hate to let everyone down"
Andy Cole: "Well I can say one thing, you are the most confident person I have ever met, and I can see that confidence taking you, and the club to the top, I wish you the very best of luck, but we're going to go to a break now, and next we'll have the flying Dutchman, Edwin van der Sar, catch you soon."
