August: The Beginning

Liverpool got off to a decent start, with wins against Stoke City and Southampton allowing them to take maximum points from two games. They also defeated Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup, but barely, having to rely on penalties to move on from the stubborn Owls. The injury crisis that has hit the team will leave them without players like Simon Mignolet, Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen for the next month.

Premier League

Liverpool 2 - 1 Stoke
Agger
Sterling

Southampton 1 - 3 Liverpool
Sakho
Coutinho
Coutinho

Capital One Cup Second Round

Wednesday 2 - 2 Liverpool (3-4 pen.)

Player of the Month

Coutinho will take the Player of the Month award this month with his amazing performances in Liverpool's three August games. He scored a brace against Southampton and equalized against Sheffield Wednesday to make the score 2-2, keeping the Reds in the match. He has been a very important member of the team so far and he will only continue to shine with time.
Coutinho's doing pretty well tbh, eager to see you play Manchester United :P

Thanks for the spoiler, and probably you'd get sacked after losing so badly against dem stinky rivals. Surprised Wednesday cost you some tiredness in the squad. :S

Carra's Journal: First Loss

2 September 2013

My first loss as a manager could not come against a worst opponent - Manchester United. What's more, they crushed us 6-1. United completely humiliated us and took advantage of our poor performances. Without players like Simon Mignolet, I'd expected a loss, but not one of this size. We were dominated throughout the match and our single goal was a lucky shot.

But what's done is done and we will have to move on from here. Dwelling on this loss will not be beneficial for us. Speaking to the team, many of them are very unhappy with the scoreline but I've convinced them to put it behind and instead focus on the games ahead.

From here, our squad can only improve with all the players returning from injury, as well as Luis, who is suspended for only 2 more matches. Aside from him, Stevie will also not be available for selection in our next game against Aston Villa after his reckless challenge on Michael Carrick earned him a red card, something that definitely contributed to the thrashing. Stevie is very disappointed with himself, and rightly so. He let the team down.

But we have our new signing, Pedro, who will finally be making his debut against Aston Villa and a couple of men recovering from their injuries so we should be fine.

We play Villa, Fulham, Manchester City and Cardiff this month, games that I hope to take maximum points from. City will be tough, but it's going to be the game where Luis returns, so I think we have enough to break them down.

In other news, I've attempted to sign Jonathan dos Santos, that Mexican kid who played for Barcelona.

He's without a club at the moment and looks like he would do well for Liverpool.

But his agent is being a huge bitch, so I think we won't be signing him after all.
Really good story so far. Dos Santos would be great on a free if you can get him! :)

I would if it wasn't for that asshole agent of his.
Good update :)

You sound happy about it. Aside from Portsmouth, do you support Manchester United by any chance? :P
