2014 - January

Results:

Celta 3-1 W - Di Maria scored just before half time. Ronaldo then got a penalty and scored. Celta scored with their first shot on target, wish we could convert our chances like that Isco added the final goal on the 80th minute.
Celta 3-0 W - After beating them in the league comfortably, in this Spanish Cup game I decided to do the regular and give the likes of Jese and Benema a chance. Depsite the scoreline we didn't play up to standard. Benzema scored the penalty given and Pepe scored two goals from corners.
Espanyol 1-4 W - At half time we had the four goal lead thanks to an own goal, Bale, Isco and Ramos. Should of scored more and probably dissapointing to give them a goal near the end.
Celta 0-1 (0-4) W - After already beating them twice this month and leading by three goals on aggregate I decided to mix the team up by playing Ronaldo in the Engache role to rest Isco and play Jese in his favoured postion as and advanced forward. Ronaldo put in a MOTM performance and scored the only goal.
R. Betis 0-2 W - I played a weak team because of Betis being last in the table and it could of been a very different game. After Casemiro scoring in the 70th minute we hit the woodwork three times. The right back Nacho got himself sent off and Betis could of easily scored a couple of times. Eventually, Bale scored late on and made sure of the win.
Barcelona 2-0 - L The quarter final tie with Barcelona was won by them and they deserved it. I put a strong team being away but just not good enough. Hopefully we can come back in the home leg!
Granada 3-2 W - Being 0-2 after fifteen minute I was very worried, we was not playing well. At all. However, an own goal just before half time gave me hope. In the second half I went overload and we starting to get some chances, Pepe and and Verane scored within ten minute with eachother we made a stunning come back!
Barcelona 4-2 W (4-4) L - Barcelona went through on away goals. We put up a great fight! We was 2-0 up at half time, then we got it to 3-0. All of a sudden, Barcelona score. Then with just two minutes to go we get it to 4-1 and looking like we was gonna go through but just one minute after Masherano scores from a corner. Gutted.

Review:
Well that was eight games this month! I admit, I am left dissapointed in the Spanish Cup but with the amount of games that we had played and only three or four day gaps I'm not too frustrated.

Player of the Month: Marcelo
Been fairly consistent plus some MOTM perfomances he is the best player this month!

Good going in the league and great signing in Lewandowski!

2014 - February

Results:
Athletic 1-3 W - A nice win where Bale bagged a brace and Morata finally scored once again.
Villarreal 3-0 W - Casillas managed to injured in training and will be out for two weeks. It looked like it was going to be a draw until Marcelo scored on the 73rd minute and Ronaldo added another just five minutes later. We continued to dominate and Pepe eventually scored from a corner.
Getafe 1-7 W - Pepe scored four goals! This included a hat trick before half time! Ronaldo scored two penalties. Modric played well, scoring a setting up a goal. However, it wasn't perfect, Marcelo scored an own goal and got injured, but he should be fine for the next game.
Elche 4-0 W - Ramos got injured just a couple of days before the game so I had to bring in Nacho to play at right back. Ronaldo took both penalties and scored both, also scoring from open play got himself a hat trick. Furthermore, Isco also added a goal. A very good performance overall!
Ajax 2-1 L The Champions League has returned, I felt confident of the win thanks to our very impressive form. Casillas was back from injury but I decided to keep Lopez until next game. We was leading with just 5 minutes gone thanks to Ronaldo, Ajax got a goal back in the 20th minute. We would of been leading at half time if Ronaldo scored the penalty given to him just before the whistle went. Ajax then scored out of nowhere in the 70th minute and we didn't get another chance despite going overload. We did not play as well as we have been doing.

Review:
We scored many goals this month, eighteen goals in just five games. I am slightly worried about the Champions League even though, I am confident beating them at home and it was nice to get an away goal.

Player of the Month: Pepe
Scoring four goals is rare, and even more rare for a centre back!

Athletico 0-2 W - I knew this was going to be a tough game, Atletico Madrid is the only team to have beaten us in the league so far. Casillas was back in the first eleven once again too. It was a fairly even game, Casillas played very well and saving a penalty. We could have one by three goals if Ronaldo had scored the penalty. After this win we are 12 points ahead of Barca and 11 points ahead of Athletico!
Levante 4-0 W - A nice dominate win with Ronaldo scoring two penalties (seem to be getting penalties everygame!), Ramos and Pepe with the other two goals. Khedira had to go off and is out for six days and Morata will be out for about a week.
Malaga 1-3 W - With Morata being injured I had to play Benzema up front, but after looking at his stats and seeing he hasn't scored a league goal I just couldn't do it. So I played Ronaldo in strike and Jese got a chance out on the left. Pepe, Marcelo and Di Maria got the goals. Ronaldo played well getting two assists.
Ajax 4-2 W (5-4) W This was a must win game, a draw or loss would not have been good enough. Pepe was suspended, this was a massive blow. As well as that, Morata started with 81% fitness. It was just coming up to half time and we 1-0 down however, a MASSIVE QUICK DOUBLE from Ronaldo suddenly got it back to 3-3! 5 minutes of being out Ronaldo completed his hat trick! Morato added our fourth goal just ten minutes later, we had many more chances and survived a scare when they converted a penalty in extra time, but we held out for a minute!
Barcelona 0-1 L - The team was tired from the Ajax game and key player Marcelo was suspended. Dani Alves scored for them in the first half. I decided to go overload for the majority of the second half and it just didn't work out.
Sevilla 1-3 W - The team is starting to look very tired now. We conceded the goal in the first minute in the game. Marcelo got it to 1-1 with a half volley from a corner, Di Maria later scored a brace in the 73rd and 89th minute. Isco was the MOTM with all three assists.
Rayo 3-0 W - A one sided game which saw a rare goal from Nacho, while Alonso and Bale scored the other two.

Champions League Quarter Final Draw: Benfica
Opinion: Well there were certainly harder teams we could of got in the draw, only Marseille could of been easier I suppose.

Review:
Putting the Barca result aside it was a good month. The Barca result was gutting however, good news is they suffered a shock defeat. This leaves a nine point gap between us!

Player of the month: Pepe
Look at those ratings! (Yes he won it two months in a row :P)

Most of the instructions are on the post. But I do change them a round a bit, I find that I just dominate teams so I really just play overload. A bit of advice is just go super attacking when you know that simply the teams wont beat, somehow I haven't had any 'shock' results all season! I just haven't mastered beating Barca yet.
