2014 - April

I have signed a new contract to keep me with Real Madrid until 2017. I should probably mention I do generally move about in long saves but I will stay at Real Madrid for the story unless I start a new one.

Results:
Benfica 2-4 W - The first leg of the Champions League, I really wanted to win here. By half time it was 2-1 to them and the goalscorer Pepe had got himself sent off. We played so much better in the second half depsite only having three at the back. Isco, Bale and Verane got the three second half goals. What a comeback!
Benfica 3-2 W (7-4) W - In this second leg I made no changes apart from bringing in Nacho for the suspended Pepe. We played well with Bale, Ronaldo and Morata getting the goals. The two goals conceded was fairly late on but they was never going to make a comeback! :D

Champions League Semi Final Draw: Barcelona
Opinion: Well, the other two teams were Manchester United and P$G so there wasn't an easy team and I wasn't expecting one. However, we haven't had a great record against Barca so I guess I would rather the other two teams.

Results (Continued):
Almeria 6-0 W - A few changes to the team, the most notable was was bringing in Jese for the injured Morata to play in strike. A win which saw us dominate and have a goal blitz. The goals came from Varane, Pepe, Marcelo, Illarramendi and two from MOTM Bale.
Real Sociedad 0-0 D - I rested many players because of the amount of games we have been playing and clearly I rested too many. This was only our second draw all season!
Valladolid 0-6 W - We got back to winning ways with a terrific result. A stunning performance by Ronaldo with four goals to his name, the other two came from Illarramendi and Khedira who unfortunately will be out for about ten days.
Barcelona 4-0 L - So here we go, the champions league Semi-Final! So far this season, our record against Barca consists of two losses, a draw and a win. Morata was still not back from injury and I did not have much faith with Jese so I played Di Maria on the left and Ronaldo in strike. This game was a complete disaster. Believe it or not, the game was fairly even, they was 3-0 at half time and then Messi converted his penalty. Ronaldo and Alonso hit the cross bar in the match just to make things more frustrating. Not one player got a rating of above 6.5.
Osasuna 5-1 W - A nice game which saw us win again. Also, two of the goals was from Oier, yes, two own goals! The other three came from Pepe, Verane and Ronaldo.
Barcelona 3-2 W (3-6) L - Well being already 4-0 down I rested some key players that was desperately in need of one. We was 0-2 down at half time however, we improved and they played poorly which saw Modric, Di Maria and Jese score a goal each. Obviously, we have not made it to the Champions League Final, this will be P$G V Barcelona.

Review:
Well that was a lot of games! Obviously, I am disappointed about the Champions League but I just can't seem to handle Barca, that 4-0 thrashing was gutting. Forgetting that though, we have just three league games left and a nine point gap with a +22 better goal difference than Barca so we have won the league... pretty much. :D

Player of the month: Cristiano Ronaldo
He actually has not been that great this season, at least not Ronaldo great. However, he has picked up in form and has converted many penalties!

2014 - May

With three games to spare! :D

Results:
Valencia 4-1 W - Marcelo, Bale, Ronaldo and an own goal were on the goalsheet for us. Both Pepe and Morata have got injured for three weeks and will miss the end of the season.
Celta 1-1 D - With Pepe, Morata and now Bale injured, we only managed to draw even though, we probably deserved to win the game. Also, Ramos got a red card.
Espanyol 3-1 WWith so many injuries and suspensions, I ended up with just five subsitutes and Coentrao in centre back! A nice win to end the season, with Isco and Varane getting the own goals. The third goal occured thanks to an own goal.

Review:
We have won the League! With over 100 points! :D

Player of the month: Marcelo
Very consistent in the final three games.

Extra Note: I will do an end of season review in my next post. :)
Just read through the story...great results...great updates...a little bit dull at the beginning but it is now literally bright and colourful.
I have to say I'm disappointed with Ronaldo's performance in your save. Congratulations on winning the league and buying Lewandowski, you need a goalscoring forward as it seems like your midfielders are scoring all your goals. Will definitely be following!

Thanks mate I hope the colours and all that makes it better to read! And yeah I agree on Ronaldo, he played a lot better in the second half of the season but a lot of his goals came from penalties so not too sure. Thanks! :D
Not that it was clever in the first place, but I feel like if you're managing Real Madrid or a club of a similar stature and bank account, you've lost the right to say P$G.

That's a fair point. :P

Season Review:

League: 1ST
Spanish Cup: Quarter - Finals (Knocked out by Barcelona)
Champions League: Semi - Finals (Knocked out by Barcelona)

Opinion:
Well, I would consider that a great first season. Even with not buying anyone! Only drawing three games and losing two means I only ever dropped just twelve points in the league. Furthermore, I finished with a twelve points more than Barca. Im happy with dominating games and the league. Moving onto the negatives, I would consider we didn't score many goals, especially in the first half of the season at least and with the attack I have, I have to say im surprised. Another negative is Barcelona being a wall. I don't even feel close to beating them or 'conquering' them. And being knocked out by them in the two cup competitions is annoying. But to sum up, I would consider this a fantastic season! :D

Best/Key Players:
Pepe - I could probably pick any of the defenders but Pepe's goals has helped us a lot!
Alonso: Very consistent and assisted eighteen times in twenty-one appearances in the league.
Bale, Isco and Ronaldo - These three have just been superb. They wasn't great until the second half of the season but, they was just that great they been very key to scoring and winning!

Transfers: (Possibly)
Going Out:
Jesus and Diego Lopez - Both sub goalkeepers who aren't young.
Carvajal - He didn't really prove his worth and isn't needed.
Coentrao - Worth a bit and is not needed. Marcelo is just too good!
Casemiro - Didn't prove his worth at all.
Illaramendi - Only if his value of £26M is the minimum. But could stay.
Benzema - Terrible!

Coming In:
GK - A young goalkeeper with high potential.
RB - Only if I can get a top class one.
AMC - Possibly to cover Isco however, playing Modric there is ok, or dropping him to down to midfield is fine, just not for long periods of time.
Nuri Sahin - Played average while on loan to Dortmund, I will give him until January.
Lewandowski - Can't wait! :D

Youth:
Honestly, there is not hot prospects that have impressed last season so no one will be promoted to the first team.

Player of the Year: Gareth Bale (Second was Pepe and third was Ronaldo!)
Top Goalscorer: Ronaldo

Targets for next season:
With some new players, I am planning to do the exact same in the league. And as long as I can figure out Barca, or miss them, possibly get further in the Champions League and the Spanish Cup. Obviously, better than last year! :P Thanks for reading!
Nice story mate!
2013-11-09 11:33#142635 kazza121 : Nice story mate!

Thanks!!

2014 - Pre-Season:

Transfers:
Budget: £116M

Transfers Out:
Coentrao - PSG - £24M
Casemiro - Valencia - £2.5M
Jesus - Valladolid - 100k
Benzema - Dortmund - 16M
Reserves - Various - £2M
Total: £44.6M

Transfers In:
Digne - PSG - £17M
Markovic - Benfica - £16M
Lewandowksi - Dortmund - Free
Total: £33M

Opinion:
I searched and searched for a top class £30M - £40M signing but I just couldn't see the player I wanted. Digne will provide cover at left back and I am training him to be more confident at right back. Markovic will be on the sub bench a lot but, hopefully will get into the team by being able to play an attacking midfielder role and on the right wing. Both players are young and I hope they improve! Players that I wanted to go such as Carvajal and Diego Lopez, were not wanted. So Lopez will carry on being the sub goalkeeper and Carvajal is around somewhere. ;) I still have about £100M to spend in January too!

Pre-Season Results: (American Tour)
D.C United 1-2 W
New England 0-6 W

Overview:
I am confident of having a repeat of last year and hopefully doing better. I really wanted a world class signing but I will have to wait. The first fixture is a tough game against Athletico Madrid. Lets go!
Seems like you used too much money for Digne...great season...nice signings...lets see how lewandowski will do...great updates...great story...can't wait for the season to start

Yeah I struggle to get players cheap on this FM, or at a reasonable price. But I guess money isn't a problem with Real Madrid! Hope you carry on enjoying reading! :D

2014 - August

(Season 2)
Champions League Group: (F)
Real Madrid
Dortmund
Anderlecht
Steaua

Opinion: A lot of the second draw teams were difficult but Dortmund were probably one of the teams I wouldn't want. Even though I still expect to easily go through!

Results:
Athletico 1-3 W - A fantastic win to start the season! Everyone played well, Khedira, Ronaldo and on his debut, Lewandowski scored the goals.
Granada 1-3 W - In the first leg of the Super Spanish Cup, Di Maria bagged a brace and Ronaldo scored the third.
Valencia 2-0 W - Ronaldo has been struck with an injury and will be out for about a month. Without him we played poor and it wasn't until I went overload we managed to score two goals in the final five minutes thanks to Varane and Di Maria. Furthermore, Alonso will be out for a couple of weeks now too.

Overview:
A nice start to the season indeed. Everyone has been impressive. I am leaving out player of the month because only three games have been played and I have been swapping players a lot to get fitness back to usual.

Deadline Day Signing!

Please imagine him in a Real Madrid shirt. :D

Opinion:
So I wasn't planning to sign him at all. Well I did make a bid for him a while back in before the season started. What I mean is I wasn't expecting to get him! He got transfer listed just a week before the window shut, Barca and Bayern were interested. The transfer details enclose I pay £34M for him now, and after a year has gone by I would of payed another £10M. And once he has scored a certain amount of goals and played a certain amount of games they will get another £8M. Therefore, I have payed just about £52M for him. I don't spend much in FM but I have this time! All I do know thanks to two previous saves in this game is that he is amazing! He has just won the European golden boy too. Honestly, I probably would not have bought Markovic if I knew Lamela would be arriving but better competion I suppose! If I find I have too many quality players in the attacking roles, I have a feeling Di Maria might be leaving. Should also note, Carvajal went on deadline day too for £750K.

Just to show the team and tactics.
Definatly some good transfer market work there, you already have a top class, and fairly young squad, the best place to splash the cash is youth, try get some money put into the Youth Recruitment and that, brilliant story bud!
I'm still enjoying it Charlie, very much so. £52 million seems a bit much for Lamela. Can't wait to see if he lives up to his price tag. I believe di Maria is gon be the one to leave. Lewandowski is performing quite well considering you bought him for free. Great Story Dude
