And a really impressive win :O

I chose one bit to read and it was the bit that was edited :P

Two in for Braunschweig

Eintracht Braunschweig have got two more defenders in - but are they, as the rumour mill suggests - replacements for Bosnian defender Ermin Bicakcic? Der BTSV have brought in 1.FC Kaiserslautern's Dominique Heintz and Danish defender Magnus Troest joins on a free.

Heintz joins Braunschweig for €5m from 2.Bundesliga side Kaiserslautern. He has, until now, spent all of his senior career with the Red Devils. He was born in 1993 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, and first played for locals SV Hertha Kirrweiler who he joined in 2001. Later that year he was signed by Kaiserslautern. He played for Germany U19's in 2010, and made his U23 debut for Kaiserslautern in September 2011, but on the final day of the 2011/12 season Heintz came on for Ariel Borysiuk against FC Koln. The next season he played 28 times and last season played 28 more times for FCK.

On his arrival, he stated his delight at joining the DFB-Pokal and DFL-Supercup holders. He did concede however, that it was tough to leave FC Kaiserslautern.

"I think FCK are historically a bigger club, but we look to the future and in the future I see Eintracht Braunschweig challenging for honours. It's easy to get carried away when you're in the Bundesliga for the first time, but my feet are firmly on the ground. I am happy to be here."

The other signing is Danish centre back Magnus Troest, who has spent his playing career, unlike Heintz, at a number of clubs. His career began at Boldklubben 1893 in Denmark, where he spent just one year as a senior player though he did not play once for the first team. Then, seen as a prospect, he joined Aston Villa where again, he did not make an appearance, after two years with the Villains. He was released but picked up on a free by FC Midtjylland, making 74 appearances in 4 years before joining Serie B side Parma. His first year saw nearly 30 games but in the second he was loaned out to Recreativo. He played 25 times in Spain, before Parma sold him to Italian rivals Atalanta. He failed to play any games here, and spent two years on loan again, at Varese. His first season saw 37 starts and his second 34 before his deal expired and upon his return to Atalanta, he was thrown back on the scrap pile as his contract was terminated. Last season, he played for Virtus Lanciano before the 27 year old was released again. He then joined Braunschweig.

Both players are reportedly being brought in by Die Lowen's manager Benno Mohlmann as a replacement to Bosnian defender Ermin Bicakcic. Bicakcic has not been sold yet nor has interest from other clubs been confirmed but Leverkusen, Gladbach and recently relegated Mainz are all close according to rumours. Gladbach's coach Lucien Favre has not commented, though club chief Rainer Bonhof was quoted as saying:

"We need defenders in time for the new season and we don't have a lot of money so we're hardly going to buy Dante back from Bayern. I think Braunschweig have Ermin Bicakcic who's good enough so perhaps he'll be a target."

Really nice update, two good signings as well.
Great update mate :) hope the signings work out
Great update and good signings :)
Two good signings :)
Good signings Lou and a quality update as usual.
A well-written update, and Bicakcic will have a tough way to break through Troest and Heintz now.

Bicakcic leaves Die Lowen

Defender Ermin Bicakcic has left Eintracht Braunschweig ahead of their second successive Bundesliga season. The Bosnian has agreed a €4m deal to join Bundesliga rivals Borussia Monchengladbach, who Braunschweig will face on the second game of the season.

Gladbach finished a fantastic fifth in the last season under coach FIFA-Manager endorsing Lucien Favre. Favre, who, despite advertising FIFA-Manager, is a fairly respectable bloke, led his side to the Europa League spot one place ahead of FC Nurnberg, the surprise of the season.

Bicakcic is Favre's fifth new signing of this season, the others being Fabian Giefer, Slobodan Rajkovic, Marcel Risse and Johannes Focher. It is thought that Favre paid Braunschweig up to €4m for the Bosnian defender Bicakcic.

Bicakcic, 24, began his footballing career in 2005 when he first joined VfB Stuttgart's youth team, having moved to Germany aged 5 in 1995. In 2008, he acquired German citizenship, making his Germany U-18 debut six days later. In the 2009/10 season he played for VfB Stuttgart II, his debut coming against SV Sandhausen in the 3.Liga. Making 12 appearances, and the next year 10, he established himself to be one of Stuttgart's brightest young stars. He then switched his allegiances to his homeland Bosnia-Herzegovina, for whom he now has 8 caps and has played at the World Cup. In January 2011/12, Bicakcic joined Braunschweig, and has since played 70 games before his departure.

Favre is reportedly delighted with his new signing, who he unveiled at an official press conference at Die Borussia-Park. The club officials are also happy, and have reportedly been following Bicakcic for numerous weeks, director Rainer Bonhof saying:

"We need defenders in time for the new season and we don't have a lot of money so we're hardly going to buy Dante back from Bayern. I think Braunschweig have Ermin Bicakcic who's good enough so perhaps he'll be a target."

Big player to lose but hopefully you can solider on without him! :)
Unlucky to lose him mate

DFB-Pokal 1st Round

So, what games are in store for us in the first round of the DFB-Pokal? Let's take a look.

http://static.weltsport.net/bilder/wappen/mittel/217.gif
SpVgg Bayreuth
Bayreuth won't be the favourites going into this, that's for sure. They may be on a high after winning the Bayernliga Nord and entering the Regionalliga Bayern but coach Simon Heinrichs hasn't made things easier by his constant criticism of their opponents.

Eintracht Braunschweig
By far the better side - holders of the Pokal, and recently won the Supercup too. They can beat any side and Bayreuth aren't a big side so it should be a breeze for Die Lowen.

http://static.weltsport.net/bilder/wappen/mittel/7797.gif

ASV Neumarkt
When the draw was made most Union Berlin fans said 'who?' and there's a reason they've not heard of this Bayernliga Nord side. The Stadion am Deininger Weg may hold 8000 but the 1500 predicted today will be made up of Berlin fans.

Union Berlin
And here we have a side on the up. They will be expecting a lot after their unlikely promotion to the Bundesliga and whilst they may not be there to stay they'll look to go as far in the cup as they did last year.

Arminia Bielefeld
And once again Bielefeld suffer a hard draw in the cup, last term they went out with a 1-0 defeat to Mainz, this time they'll face Eintracht Frankfurt. The loss against Mainz seemed to shape their season - countless losses led to a relegation last year.

Eintracht Frankfurt
Die Adler will be the favourites for this one. They haven't had the best results last year but Thomas Schaaf has turned the tables.

http://static.weltsport.net/bilder/wappen/mittel/2860.gif

1.FC Heidenheim
Not a side that much is expected of but Heidenheim of the 3.Liga will look to impress. They did well against Leverkusen in the cup last year so perhaps Nurnberg may not be too much.

1.FC Nurnberg
Michael Weisinger's side are much the better side but their game today is sandwiched between two Europa League ties against Slovakians Ruzomberok. It may not be a priority but they should still come out with a comfortable win.

http://static.weltsport.net/bilder/wappen/mittel/229.gif

Hansa Rostock
The club founded in 1965 may not be expected to win the tie here but having run away with the 3.Liga last year, and to be leading the 2. Bundesliga table right now, means they have as much as a chance as their opponents.

VfL Bochum
Der VfL go into this match as favourites according to the papers, but they won't know what to expect, as they sit in 7th of the 2. Bundesliga table.

Let's get on with the games.

- GOAL! - 9 - Marc-Oliver Kempf - Arminia Bielefeld 0-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
FRANKFURT LEAD! It's 1-0 to Frankfurt and it's Kempf who claims it, Oczipka's corner and it flies of Schonfeld and hits a defender, Kempf just whacks it in!

- GOAL! - 12 - Genki Omae - FC Heidenheim 0-1 1.FC Nurnberg
Nurnberg lead after 12 minutes here at the Voith-Arena and it's Omae with the goal! Pachonik has the ball on the right and Gebhart gets the ball, he shoots, Sattelmaier saves it, but Omae just turns it in.

- GOAL! - 14 - Adam Nemec - FC Heidenheim 0-2 1.FC Nurnberg
Two goals in a matter of minutes for Nurnberg! Gebhart has the ball on the wing, through ball to Kiyotake and he gives it to Nemec, he rounds the keeper, and puts it in.

- GOAL! - 17 - Gianluca Korte - SpVgg Bayreuth 0-1 Eintracht Braunschweig
It's a goal to Braunschweig! Oerhl gives it to Pfitzner, Kratz back to Oerhl, he gets it to Korte who will not miss from there. It's Korte who scores, 1-0!

- GOAL! - Robert Strauss - FC Heidenheim 1-2 1.FC Nurnberg
Perhaps Heidenheim aren't out of this one quite yet! Der Club will be disappointed with that, poor defending, it's not a dangerous ball in really. No one tracks Strauss, who sees his effort stopped, but he gets the rebound in. That opens the game up.

- GOAL! - 18 - Simon Terrode - ASV Neumarkt 0-2 Union Berlin
It's 2-0 to Union Berlin, here in Neumarkt! Terrode's second too, early in the first half, and another header too. Puncec has the ball on the edge of the box, Jopek gets it, crosses it to the near post and Terrode is standing in waiting, and heads it in, 2-0.

- GOAL! - Marc Schnatterer - FC Heidenheim 2-2 1.FC Nurnberg
And the comeback is complete for FC Heidenheim! From 2-0 down to 2-2 and the scorer is Schnatterer. More slack defending from Der Club. Sokler gets the cross in. He's not closed down and Schnatterer isn't marked at the far post, volleys home.

- GOAL! - 28 - Simon Terrode - ASV Neumarkt 0-3 Union Berlin
And we're not even half an hour into this game and not only is it 3-0 to Union Berlin, it's 3-0 to Simon Terrode really as he bags his hat trick. Korte is allowed tons of space, Dausch with a good cross and Terrode at the near post. The keeper should have stopped it.

- GOAL! - 29 - Bjorn Jopek - ASV Neumarkt 0-4 Union Berlin
Two quickfire goals for Union Berlin sees them going 4-0 up! It's Jopek who gets it, with a great volley from just inside the box. It hit the bar before bouncing in.`

- GOAL! - 30 - Adam Nemec - FC Heidenheim 2-3 1.FC Nurnberg
And Nurnberg lead once again! They were 2 goals ahead before, but slack defending let Heidenheim back into it, and now slack defending has put them back in front. A poor corner from Kiyotake escapes numerous defenders and the keeper, leaving Nemec to head in from about a yard.

- GOAL! - 30 - Christopher Quiring - SpVgg Bayreuth 0-2 Eintracht Braunschweig
And whilst his former side are firing goals in by the truckload against Newmarkt, Christopher Quiring has scored here and it's as good as anything his ex team mates have come up with. Marc Pfitzner spread the play to Capuano on the left, he put it in for Quiring who took it down and placed the ball through the keeper's legs for 2-0.

- GOAL! - Sven Sokler - FC Heidenheim 3-3 1.FC Nurnberg
AN INCREDIBLE RESPONSE FROM HEIDENHEIM! Sokler! Heidenheim are level once again, and it comes from Sven Sokler's goal. Strandberg was out of position and left his man free, Mavraj went to cover but left Sokler free and Ozgoz played a beautiful pass for the German to place in the net.

- GOAL! - 36 - Marc Pfitzner - SpVgg Bayreuth 0-3 Eintracht Braunschweig
Oh dear, 3-0 to Braunschweig! And it's Marc Pfitzner, the goal coming from an unlikely source. Bayreuth don't seem to be trying anymore, it's an avoidable one, as Kratz gets the ball on the wing but no one comes near him and he finds Pfitzner in the box, Pfitzner shoots, and Pfitzner scores!

- GOAL! - 38 - Mergim Mavraj - FC Heidenheim 3-4 1.FC Nurnberg
AND IT'S 4-3! Mavraj! How many goals do you want? And how many defensive errors will there be? Another one here. Malura heads onto his own bar, Mavraj gets the rebound onto the bar, and the keeper jumps on the ball, misses it, and Mavraj hits it, in this time to make it 7 goals this afternoon.

- GOAL! - 39 - Mirkan Aydin - Hansa Rostock 0-1 VfL Bochum
WHAT A GOAL! MIRKAN AYDIN! THE DEADLOCK IS BROKEN! AND A WORLD CLASS GOAL! Azaouagh will claim the assist, but all he did was give the ball to Aydin who beat numerous defenders and the goalkeeper. Fantastic.

- GOAL! - 41 - Adam Nemec - FC Heidenheim 3-5
And it's 8 goals here in the Voith-Arena, but the game has started to slip away from minnows Heidenheim who were level just a few minutes ago. It's a hat trick for Nemec. Gebhart put the cross in and he lobbed it in to the far post with his head.

- GOAL! - 43 - Marc Pfitnzer - SpVgg Bayreuth 0-4 Eintracht Braunschweig
And it is 4-0 just before half time, Pfitzner get's his second. He got the ball from midfielder Jan Hochsheidt and my word, he finished well! From outside the box he sidefooted the ball powerfully against the crossbar.

Second Half
- GOAL! - 46 - Marc Schnatterer - FC Heidenheim 4-5 1.FC Nurnberg
Heidenheim might just be back in this now! It's 5-4 to Nurnberg, Schnatterer has pulled bck a goal here, and it's another great goal from the Heidenheim man. He received the ball out wide and had the chance to cross but instead chose to go it alone and finished off a great solo run by placing it through the legs of the goalkeeper.

- GOAL! - 47 - Mustufa Kucukovic - Hansa Rostock 1-1 VfL Bochum
Hansa back on level terms! It's Kucukovic who scores, poor defending from Der VfL, no one came to the ball, and he tapped in an inviting cross to make it 1 goal apiece.

- RED CARD! - 49 - Alexander Stephan - FC Heidenheim 4-5 1.FC Nurnberg
MY WORD! IT'S THE GOALKEEPER WHO IS SENT OFF FOR NURNBERG! UNBELIEVABLE! Alexander Stephan handles outside of his area, he might have smashed into the Heidenheim striker too, but the referee gets his red card straight out.

- GOAL! - 53 - Simon Terrode - ASV Neumarkt 0-5 Union Berlin
Simon Terrode gets his fourth, it's 5-0 to Die Eisern Union. It's been coming, 22 minutes since they last put one in. It had to be Terrode, taking on a knockdown from winger Korte who is on loan from Eintracht Braunschweig, and firing in.

- GOAL! - 57 - Sven Sokler - FC Heidenheim 5-5 1.FC Nurnberg
Hahaha! It's 5-5! 10 goals in just the one game and they're equally shared. Sokler gets the goal, blasting in from a tricky angle and evading the new sub keeper Rafael Schafer.

- GOAL! - 57 - Mustufa Kucukovic - Hansa Rostock 2-1 VfL Bochum
Two goals in ten minutes for Mustufa Kucukovic, and Hansa Rostock lead here! Blacha did most of the work, beating two defenders with a great dribble, and his cross found Kucukovic at the near post who knocked it past the out of position goalkeeper.

- GOAL! - 62 - Fabian Klos - Arminia Bielefeld 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
1-1! FABIAN KLOS! The equaliser comes at last for Bielefeld but it should have easily been avoided. It was originally headed away by Theuerkauf but only as far as Schonfield, who put it on a plate for Klos.

- GOAL! - 70 - Michael Parensen - ASV Neumarkt 0-6 Union Berlin
The sixth goal goes in now and the stadium that was previously filled with Neumarkt fans wishing for an upset is empty. Parensen gets the goal, firing beneath the keeper's reach after a corner wasn't cleared.

- GOAL! - 70 - Smail Morabit - Hansa Rostock 2-2 VfL Bochum
A fantastic goal levels it here in Rostock! Morabit with a sensational volley to equalise!

- GOAL! - 83 - Simon Terrode - ASV Neumarkt 0-7 Union Berlin
Simon Terrode bags his fifth goal of the afternoon! Suspicions of offside here though, as Terrode was stood in front of all defenders before the cross came in from Skrzybski, which Terrode headed in. He may have been in line with his team mate, but Neumarkt protest anyway.

- GOAL! - 88 - Martin Dausch - ASV Neumarkt - Union Berlin
Union Berlin have been simply gr-eight here, if you'd excuse the pun. That is 8-0 and Dausch is the scorer! It could have been Terrode's sixth and his fourth header, but his effort hit the bar leaving Dausch to turn it in. 8 goals to nothing!

- GOAL! - 89 - Bjorn Kopplin - FC Heidenheim 5-6 1.FC Nurnberg
Oh, how unlucky! In the last minute FC Heidenheim have lost the game to Bjorn Kopplin's lucky strike, a shot that deflected off a defender, deflected off Rouven Sattelmaier the goalkeeper, deflected off the bar, bounced on the goal line, and went in!

SpVgg Bayreuth 0-4 Eintracht Braunschweig
ASV Neumarkt 0-8 Union Berlin
Arminia Bielefeld 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
(Ongoing)
FC Heidenheim 5-6 1.FC Nurnberg
Hansa Rostock 2-2 VfL Bochum
(Ongoing)

X-Tra Time :P

- GOAL! - Jan Rosenthal - Arminia Bielefeld 1-2
LATE DRAMA HERE! FRANKFURT LEAD! 2-1! ROSENTHAL GETS THE GOAL! Timothy Chandler plays the ball into the box for Rosenthal who fired to the far corner, and beat the keeper to get what could be the winner.

- GOAL! - 103 - Mustafa Kucukovic - Hansa Rostock 3-2 VfL Bochum
And there's no lack of late drama at Rostock either! 3-2 to the home side! Kucukovic with the header to gain his hat trick and possibly win the game.

- GOAL! - 105 (P) - Jonas Strifler - Arminia Bielefeld 2-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
And a penalty kick to Arminia Bielefeld, which Strifler has converted to level the scores here! Janzer was tripped by Chandler and Strifler lashed in the resulting penalty to equalise.

- GOAL! - 105+1 - Mustafa Kucukovic - Hansa Rostock 4-2 VfL Bochum
And that is the fourth for Kucukovic! What a goal, too! A great cross comes in from the right, I think it is Latkowski who delivers it, Kucukovic is at the near post to seal the game up with his head.

2nd Half of Extra Time

- GOAL! - 114 - Viktor Talevski - Arminia Bielefeld 2-3 Eintracht Frankfurt
FRANKFURT TAKE THE LEAD! 3-2 now! A great goal to do it, as Oczipka's cross is volleyed home immensely powerfully by Talevski, past the keeper.

Full Time

Some interesting results elsewhere including a 11-0 win for Kaiserslautern and a 4-1 win for Dynamo Dresden - against BFC Dynamo.

Next Round Draw:

Nice win and great detail once again.
1
Brilliant update :)
Unbelievable detail in your update again and a lot of effort put into it!
Great story. An original team to manage and the effort put into it is great
