Victory played their 2nd game of the season away from home, in what would prove to be a fairly drab encounter, with both sides cancelling each other for most of the game. The breakthrough didn't come until the 75th minute when veteran striker, Archie Thompson was slipped through, and he poked a neat finish past the helpless opposition keeper. The win was however, slightly overshadowed by the injury to Victory midfielder, Mitch Nicolls.

Another first half goal fest led to an exciting encounter at AAMI Park in Melbourne. The first goal came via a great cross from Milligan, which was met by Leigh Broxham at the far post. Milligan then went on to score himself, after Victory were awarded a penalty in the 32nd minute, which he coolly tucked away without hesitation. New signing Marko Pantelic put away the 3rd on his debut, and assured a Victory win, despite a 41st minute consolation goal from Caleb Folan.

Manager Notes
Overview-
A really impressive start to the season for us, which not only produced 3 good wins against strong sides, but boosted our the squad's confidence massively, and has made them believe that the title is a realistic target for us this season.
Player of the Month
There was one stand out player this month, and that was our captain Mark Milligan. Mark put in some top quality performances this season, both attackingly and defensively, getting a goal and 2 assists, whilst remaining a rock in our back line, which was as a whole, very impressive.
