Introduction

Welcome, fellow frequenters of FMScout, to the official Story of the Month thread! We have organized a great panel of six judges. The judges will nominate 5 stories for the general public to vote upon to see who wins the prestigious Story of the Month award!

The Prize

"What do I get for winning this Story of the Month award?" you might be asking. The prize is quite something; a wondrous site badge, having your story set to sticky for three weeks, and, of course, some bragging rights, same as last year. This time around, however, we've added a few new incentives; you will also receive a special SOTM banner, custom kits, and a special graphic for your team!

November Winner

It has been a really wonderful start to the FM14 story writing season. A number of new writers have burst onto the scene along with some of our seasoned veterans, all of them writing very exciting tales about their managerial journeys in FM. Due to having so many high-quality stories to choose from, this was certainly a tough month for the judges to choose only five stories to be nominated and it surely must have been difficult for you all to choose one winner. Before we announce who did in fact win this award, the six judges would like to thank all 127 people that voted, a huge turnout for this Story of the Month voting. Now, on to the champion! The people have spoken, and the winner is…


NVDTahir for Rochdale AFC -- The Rising Revolution!!! This is NVDTahir’s first story and what a wonderful story it is, amassing a huge 49 votes from the 127 cast, totaling 38.6%. Kane and his Arsenal FC: A Bould Move managed to pick up 41 votes (32.3%) and came in as a close second while Neal and his Giuseppe Bergomi - The King of Calcio picked up 22 votes (17.3%).

December Winner

Now that our first Story of the Month has been awarded, we are now back to the more monthly feel of this competition. We had another five stories nominated for the public to vote on once again this month, and all five were of top quality. It was certainly no easy decision for the judges to choose only five to nominate, and even tougher for the voters to choose one only, but in the end, we have a victory. The winner is...


Neal for Giuseppe Bergomi - The King of Calcio!!! This is Neal’s first Story of the Month victory and what a wonderful story it is, amassing a huge 17 votes from the 31 cast, totaling 54.8%. jason_connolly1987 and his Inter The Lions Den... My Homecoming... managed to pick up 7 votes (22.6%) and came in as a close second while Nick and his Tottenham Hotspur: Like a Boas picked up 5 votes (16.1%).

In fact, Neal had two stories nominated this month: Giuseppe Bergomi - The King of Calcio, and Francesco Totti - Il Gladiatore di Roma. He was put as only one option in the poll, however, and chose his Inter story to win after both together had won.

Congrats, but after some tough work (including some ball licking skillzzzz and sandwich making), Neal has made it! Congrats puta!

The first Story of the Month award of 2014 was sure to be a tough battle between many great writers and their excellent stories, and it was surely no disappointment. With a number of great tales of managerial feats to choose from, our judges managed to select five for the voting process. Now, however, YOU have voted, and a winner has been crowned.


P-KIDDY for Juventus: La Vecchia Signora!!! It was an extremely tight race until the very end, but P-KIDDY managed to edge it out by winning 8 votes of the 21 total (33.3%). BayernAmerica's The Irish Inquisition: Combating the heresy of the EPL and Celtic on the Irish People since 2013 and Nick's Tottenham Hotspur: Like a Boas both finished with 7 votes (28.6% each), only one vote off of the eventual winner.

P-KIDDY's Juventus story has been an excellent one as, with the goalscoring prowess of Luciano Vietto spearheading the way, P-KIDDY's (aka Antonio Conte's) Bianconeri have stormed through Italian calcio, and it has been a delightful read for its many followers.

February; a month of love, perhaps, but most importantly, a month of football! We saw the return of UEFA Champions League football in real life, and here on this site we saw some amazing stories rise to prominence and entertain us all. Our magnificent judges had selected five stories for you all to vote on, and at last, the public has made its decision, and a winner has been crowned.


P-KIDDY for Schalke 04: El Hombre de Oro!!! It was another fiery, tight affair, but P-KIDDY just managed to edge his competitors and take home the prize with a full 15 votes (46.9%). Nick and his excellent Tottenham Hotspur: Like a Boas came in a close second with 13 votes (40.6%). It was a two horse race, but in the end, P-KIDDY managed to emerge narrowly victorious!

So there you have it folks, for the second month running, P-KIDDY is your champion with Schalke 04: El Hombre de Oro! I hope this inspires you all to keep writing and working hard, because next month, it just might be you!
