March Winner

As March rolls around, football is getting tense. The EPL and La Liga BBVA title races are both tight, and FMScout's competition for best story is no less terse. We'd been graced with an excellent selection of stories this past month, but you all have cast your votes on one of the five nominees. Only one may emerge victorious...

tbendis for [FM13]The Adriatic Adventure [Hajduk Split]!!! It was a close race this time around, going to the very final day of voting. The eventual champions tbendis managed to pick up 16 of the 38 votes (42.1%), but pompeyblue put up a credible fight, garnering 34.2% of the public's support with 13 votes.

Congratulations to tbendis on his first ever Story of the Month victory after numerous nominations throughout the span of his story. Leonardo DiBendiš, well done! :P

And the Oscar goes to...

Timmy for [FM13]The Adriatic Adventure [Hajduk Split]!!!

To himself - *OhmyGod OhmyGod OhmyGod... okay Timmy, keep it cool, you can do this... you've waited a long time for this... standard speech... no big deal... but OHMYGOD IT'S SO FREAKING EXCITING*

Bendiš walked up to the stage, giddy with delight, as he managed to win the coveted trophy after years of effort.

A narrator spoke to the viewers, "this is Bendiš's first SOTM win, after 10 nominations"

and then, he finally made it to the stage, shook Neal's hand, and took the trophy into his hand

"Wow... she's beautiful isn't she... First of all, I'd like to say that, even to be nominated amongst such excellent stories... and Neal's *crowd laughs*... is an absolute honor. I've been put aside so many times, for Rab, for Justice, for all the greats, and every single time, going up against them has been a delight. It never was about winning for me, it was more about playing the game...

"I'd like to thank my fans, the silent ones who read my story day after day... the ones who got upset when the agent fell off the harbour steps, the ones who cried when Iva died. Thank you... you are who I write for, and you make this worthwhile.

"I'd like to thank the internet for giving me a space to write. I don't think I'd ever have a chance writing anything else. I've been suggested so many times to take up writing an actual book, and I don't think I could... maybe a screenplay, but books are a bit not in my league.

"And I'd like to thank all my friends here on the site, who supported me through all of this... it's been a long time in the making, you know who you are.

"And thank you, thank you, thank you, to the judges, who have put me through the ordeal of being nominated every single time. It's been an absolute delight, and let's make it happen again."

"I love you all", Bendiš finished with aplomb, kissing the trophy and lifting it to the air

And with that, the auditorium exploded into a standing ovation beyond all measure. This was the award of the year... and boy did it deliver
So no Pauks?

April Winner

Though there have been some really good stories already this FM14 writing season, I think we can all agree that April has been perhaps the finest month thus far. With plenty of fantastic new tales of managerial prowess to choose between for the Story of the Month title, it all came down to two final contenders for the coveted prize: Nick and Josh_MU.

It was tight down to the very last day, but now, with great joy, I can finally announce the victor...

Nick for Tottenham Hotspur: Like a Boas AND Josh_MU for England - The Roaring Lions!!! The two outstanding writers drew 22-22 in initial voting and were neck and neck with 11-11 in sudden death voting. However, the two gracious gentlemen have offered to share the prize for the month, and so they both are this month's winners.

Congratulations to Nick and Josh_MU, both winning their first ever Story of the Month titles!

Note: Changes Next Month

After due deliberation and some difficult decision making, we have decided to make another change to the Story of the Month system, starting next month. The poll itself will not be put up until the last day of the month, and will remain up for no more than four days. This way, the entire last week of the month is not lost to both writers, as it currently is. Thank you for your consideration.

May Winner

It was a tight month in a number of competitions across Europe as, at last, the season came to a climactic close. Atletico Madrid upset the balance in Spain, Manchester City clinched another Premier League following Liverpool's meltdown, and Real Madrid captured the famed Decima. Here at FMScout, a number of glorious writers have also risen to the challenge to try and take home the most coveted prize of all: Story of the Month. Who won? Let's find out...

Justice for Luton Town - The Path to Power Justice and his men have climbed up the leagues with astounding aplomb, and his writing has certainly matched his success. Garnering nearly 50% of the entire vote (15 votes out of the total 32), Justice is the clear victor. Congratulations!
Congrats Justice, much deserved win!

Great work justice

I hooe my story gets a nomination at some point to :)
The SOTM winner should have their story stuck to the top of the forum for the duration of the month.

June Winner

As the World Cup goes on in Brazil, we've just about had our semifinals decided. Will the Brazilians win on home soil? Can the Argentines ruin the party? Will Costa Rica somehow shock the world?! Either way, a far more important competition is underway here on FMScout; June's coveted Story of the Month award. Who took home this amazing award?

Walter for Oriental Lisbon - One Step Closer and pompeyblue for Portsmouth FC- We Own Our Club!! Both Walter and pompeyblue finished with 12 votes each out of the total 35 votes, each garnering 34.3% of the support.

Congratulations to both stories, both thoroughly deserving of this prestigious story-writing recognition!
Congratulations Walter on the join win!
I would also like to say a huge thanks to everyone who voted for me, also helping me to the joint victory :D
I am very grateful of the support you have given my story and in helping me to the SOTM success!
Great job both Pompey and Walter, your stories are both great inspirations to not only me, but new writers and seasoned FM Scout veterans alike.

July Winner

It's been a month full of preseason tours and friendly matches across the big leagues in European football, but the competition continues to rage here at FMScout as quality stories continue to flood our forums and win the fans' hearts. The month of July was a very tight fought race to see who would take home to coveted award, but in the end there could be only one champion...

Neal for [FM13] Giuseppe Bergomi - The King of Calcio!! Neal's humongous story garnered 11 votes of the total 32, amounting to 34.4% of the public opinion. tallery1164 came a very close second, losing out by just 1 vote, receiving 31.3% of the vote.

So, there you have it. For the third time in the FM14 season, an FM13 story has won Story of the Month! This is Neal's second victory, his first coming with this story back in November. Keep on writing, and next month you might be the winner!
Congrats Neal, on a FULLY deserved SOTM win!
I don't think you need telling, but your story really is an epic and the effort you have put into it is incredible.
What a way to end the story too, a story which will without a doubt, go down in history as one of the best this site has ever seen! :D
What he said.
Quality stuff Neal. Fully deserved, what a great ending to your tale! :D
