It was another spectacular month of fixtures for AS Roma as the club steamrolled their way to five straight victories, two of them especially crucial. Along with these victories, two players in particular have stepped to the fore for the Giallorossi, scoring key goals in the big matches to ensure the club's continued success.
The month started in a sort of peculiar fashion. In both games against Udinese and Palermo, Francesco Totti's men scored three goals, and in both games, Clement Grenier scored the first two goals and Sebastian Giovinco scored the third to cap off the win. The two had struck up a great partnership, and that would come in handy in the next match; the Derby della Capitale against SS Lazio.
The Biancocelesti, Roma's crosstown rivals, came to the Stadio Olimpico (the clubs' shared ground) and knew that getting a result would be quite the upset. What they didn't expect, however, was a 4-0 drubbing. Clement Grenier and Sebastian Giovinco were yet again among the goals, with superstar right back Sebastien Corchia also pitching in a strike. Lorik Cana finished off a dismal day for Lazio with an embarrassing own goal to ensure utter humiliation.
The next game was another important one; the home leg of the Champions League First Knockout Round against Scottish powerhouse Celtic. After a 4-1 victory at Celtic Park in the first leg, Totti knew his side didn't need to do much and put out a second string squad. Right back Matteo Darmian's early goal proved enough to see Roma through to the next round.
Totti and his men then finished the month with a comfortable 2-0 win over Chievo Verona. Sebastian Giovinco was again on the scoresheet, this time joined by Bosnian superstar Miralem Pjanic. The team suffered no injuries, suspensions, or dropped points this March, making it perhaps their most perfect month to date.
