January 2014

The Matches

Numancia 1 - 2 Alaves

Eibar 1 - 1 Numancia

Numancia 1 - 3 Lugo

Jaen 2 - 2 Numancia

The Table

Transfer Deadline Day

A very depressed transfer day with only four deals in Liga Adelante, including one club getting a player from Thailand.

Numancia's Transfers

I made no immediate signings, so I want to focus on the future transfers. Juanma is old and not that good so it makes sense to let him leave. What is interesting is how cosmopolitan these signings are, I never really feel a need to represent the league's nation in my club teams, and when you have no money you can't afford to be picky.

Manager's Comments

We've had a weak month where the lack of depth of our roster has shone through somewhat, but if we can get back on the winning trail the playoffs are very much in reach.
Tough month to only take 2 points from a possible 12 but hopefully you can push on ahead and start taking more points! Keep up the nice updates :)

February 2014

The Matches

Numancia 1 - 0 Girona

Carlos Akapo Injury
Fullback Carlos Akapo fractured his arm and will miss 4-5 weeks, and we will certainly miss him, as he is one of our better players.

Las Palmas 1 - 2 Numancia

The Curious Case of Raul Fernandez

Raul Fernandez is a goalkeeper who has been loaned to us by Athletic Bilbao for the season. He's kind of rubbish, and stopped seeing play when I bought Giorgi Makaridze. He's unhappy about that, but it's not my fault he's rubbish. Now, an online poll revealed that 87% of our fans are unhappy with the decision not to play him over Makaridze, which proves that fans are stupid.

A Cruel Blow to Murcia
Murcia's star striker Kike, leading the Liga Adelante with 21 goals, suffered torn knee ligaments and will miss 9-10 months. That kind of production is hard to replace, and even when he comes back, he may not be the same.

Numancia 4 - 1 Cordoba

Sabadell 0 - 4 Numancia
Their manager, Javi Salamero, was fired after the match, which is an awesome feeling as a coach, that you directly caused an opposing coach to get fired. Also, I didn't know Sabadell was chaired by a Japanese man, Keisuke Sakamoto.

Manager's Comments

This was much needed after last month's debacle. 12 points out of 12, and we're back in playoff contention! Special thanks to Neal who helped me tweak my tactic, his advice helped. There's always something you can do to better your game in FM, even if you're extremely arrogant like me and expect to win every game. Listen to advice, do your own research, and don't take shortcuts!
Nice to see a Carlos Akapo mention. He was solid player for my C.D. Constància team for a while.

Keep it up and please beat RCD Mallorca next time. :)

As Northwood, I always appreciate and read a Spanish LL story... Nice start pal and keep it up! :)

P.S. How is doing my dear Oviedo in your story?!? ;)

Not bad at all.

Not as good as I did last year! :D Thanks mate for the update! ;)
With more concentration and a little luck, you can achieve promotion mate! Keep up the good work!

March 2014

The Matches

Numancia 3 - 2 Murcia

Sporting 3 - 1 Numancia

Numancia 3 - 0 Alcorcon

Hercules 0 - 0 Numancia

Numancia 2 - 2 Mirandes

Highlights

This goal tied it up against Mirandes. The ball bounced off backwards off Pedro towards the Mirandes goal and Pedro has a free run towards goal, and easily beats the goalkeeper.

The Youth Intake

In 9 years of managing Numancia in FM13 I never got a single half-decent prospect, but Iban looks pretty good, even if he is really raw. Luis Rodriguez can also provide solid depth if he reaches his potential.

Manager's Comments

There are 10 matches left, and although we are 7 points clear for a playoff spot, it's still no time to slack off. Barca B and RM Castilla are very beatable, but Tenerife and Zaragoza will be tough.
Can we get a picture of the young Iban ?
Of course, Northwood!:

Anyone else, feel free to ask me for screenshots of players! When I actively sign regens I will post screenshots of them then, too.

April 2014

The Matches

Barcelona B 0 - 1 Numancia

The Dreaded Torn Hamstring
Julio Alvarez has suffered a torn hamstring and that means we're screwed as he's under contract with us for 2 more years, and since he's 32, he's going to be done as a player at this level.

Numancia 2 - 3 Zaragoza

Tenerife 1 - 0 Numancia
Some notes:
- FM disagreed with the penalty call.
- Iban from my youth got his first start due to unavailability of top left backs, and became the youngest ever player to play in a Liga Adelante game at 15 years 339 days. He acquitted himself well, didn't prove to be a liability, and picked up a 6.9, which is pretty good for his first full professional game. I see big things in his future! I just hope I don't have to plug him in anytime soon.
- My front 3 really sucked today.

Numancia 1 - 2 Real Madrid Castilla

Highlights

A great goal from the run of play for a fullback.

Manager's Comments

This is what I was afraid of, just because we're looking at a playoff spot we're sniffing the roses and becoming complacent, with three losses in a row, including a blown 2 goal lead against Zaragoza.
Nice win against Barca B
