Preseason 2014
The Aftermath
If you're reading this, you probably know we took a harsh 5-3 extra time playoff loss to Zaragoza last season. It really sucked, because I thought we would make it to La Liga, but I did do better than how I did in FM13 my first season, finishing 10th. I really want to make that playoff push, though.
Season Recap
The Bloodbath
![]()
I wanted to resign Bedoya and Regalon but they wanted too much money, and I wanted to focus on signing younger players. In addition, getting rid of incumbent older players in favor of fresh young ones tends to create an environment where my players are more loyal, since they're used to the idea of me being the manager.
The New Arrivals
Remember? I love center mids!
More Transfers!
He's kind of slow but I think he'll be good on the right side as an inside forward.
He'll be good for the left side.
He's weirdly creative for a fullback and with the style I play he should be a good fit. Adrian Ripa will be a good backup and Iban still needs a few more years in the pressure-cooker.
Because I may as well sign someone who's actually Spanish! He'll get a lot of time at the left wing.
- Julio Alvarez to Caracas on a free transfer. He was losing his physical attributes incredibly fast and he wanted to go home to Venezuela, so it's a win-win.
- Natalio on season long loan to Ponferradina with 50% of his wages paid. It's better than paying 100% of his wages, although not ideal.
- Ivan Bolado has been sold to Celta for 230,000 after he wouldn't stop whinging about not getting a new contract after I declined a transfer offer.
With Bolado sold, we needed another striker, and Deniz Poro, while short on technicality, is a very intriguing option.
You Want Carlos Akapo For 300K? Get the -bleep- out!
Teams have been inquiring for Akapo but we're not so desperate for crack money that we'd sell him for 300k.
Preseason Odds

7:4, not bad. Also interesting to see over 35 million Euros spent in transfer fees by Liga Adelante clubs, and none by us.
The Matches
Modena 0 - 2 Numancia
Two Injured
It's a bit of a pain in the ass to see one of your new acquisitions go down seconds after getting subbed in, but Boyd Stevens will be out 4 weeks with a twisted knee. Thankfully he'll be back relatively soon, but he'll miss important gelling time with his teammates. Lars Gulpen suffered a gashed leg and will be out 3-4 weeks.
Trapani 3 - 2 Numancia
Isidoro Injures Groin
Isidoro will be out about 4 weeks with a groin strain; as Isidoro is the 2nd choice right fullback he will be given every chance to recover.
FC Oss 3 - 2 Numancia
Carpi 1 - 0 Numancia
Numancia 0 - 3 Grenada
Manager's Comments
This wasn't the best of preseasons as injuries and drama hurt us, but I think we'll be up for a good season.
