Chelsea 2 - 2 Manchester United

Chelsea were lucky enough to earn themselves a point as Manchester United dominated right from the off.
Manchester United's Portuguese winger Luis Nani opened the scoring with a 20 yard half-volley which flew past Petr Cech in the Chelsea goal.
Defender Phil Jones doubled Manchester United's leader with a header from a corner taken by Wayne Rooney.

However in the second half, veteran Frank Lampard pulled a goal back for the home side, scoring from 10 yards out with a simple tap-in from a corner.
Willian, who Chelsea signed from Shaktar equalised in the 90th minute from heading in from a corner.

The result did not reflect how the game was played, with Manchester United being the better of the two.
But, Manchester United are still unbeaten in all competitions so far, and with the form they are in, they look favourites for the title.

We spoke to David Beckham after the match, he said this:
"Yeah, I am very happy that we are still unbeaten, however quite disappointed for the lads, Chelsea were very lucky to get a point from this fixture, we totally outplayed them but two goals from set-pieces was very lucky for them."

Jose Mourinho also commented on the game and David Beckham's comments:
"He thinks we were lucky to get a point? They were lucky to get a point. We were the better team and Beckham obviously does not realise what class is, we were very good, enough said."

Thanks man! Yeah, I can't believe we are still undefeated! :)

- Capital One Cup intro -

AC: Good afternoon, and welcome to the Capital One Cup Final, where the Champions Manchester United face newly promoted Cardiff City, along side me today is Roy Keane, Lee Dixon and Gareth Southgate. Okay, so lets start with Manchester United Roy, they are 23 points clear on Chelsea and look likely to win the title, what do you think of them?

RK: Well, they've been very good through-out the whole of this season, they'll win the Premier League and they'll win today.

AC: Okay, Lee, what do you think about Cardiff's chances of winning today?

LD: They'll have to play very good to beat this inform United side, they'll give it a go but I think United will cruise by them today, 2-0.

AC: Thanks Lee. And Gareth, who do you think will be the key players for this game today?

GS: Well, definitely Michael Carrick and Robin van Persie, they've probably been United's best players this season, but also looking at their wide players, they have a lot to choose from, hopefully they'll pick the right ones to attack Cardiff today.

AC: Okay, thanks.. Now, we have the team news in!

Manchester United:

Cardiff City:

AC: Looking at the teams Roy, who do you think will be the 'game changer'?

RK: Probably Robin van Persie or Ilkay Gundogan, two world class players there.

AC: And, we have David Beckham with Gabriel Clarke.

Key:
GC: Gabriel Clarke
DB: David Beckham

GC: Afternoon David, welcome to your second cup final this season, how do you feel?

DB: Afternoon, I am very excited for this cup final against a good Cardiff team, I love these types of occasions in football and I hope all our preparation will be worth it.

GC: There is no Wayne Rooney today, why is that?

DB: Wayne is not fit enough to play today sadly, we assessed him earlier today and he wasn't fit enough, so we decided not to play him.

GC: Alright, thank you David, good luck!

DB: Thanks Gabriel!

AC: And we are almost ready! We'll head over to Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend after this break...
Wow! This story is great!

Key:
CT: Clive Tyldesley
AT: Andy Townsend

CT: Thanks Adrian, and hello everyone, welcome to today's Capital One Cup Final where Manchester United take on Cardiff City.

AT: Yep, hello everyone, it should be a very good game today, Manchester United are the favourites to win but can Cardiff cause an upset and win today? Let's find out.

CT: And here we go! The players have shook hands, the crowd is ready, and the ref has blown his whistle for Manchester United to kick off.

12 mins:
CT: Carrick receives the ball from Phil Jones, Carrick plays a one two with Nani, Carrick to Kagawa, Kagawa to Nani, oh what a great ball! Nani to cross, van Persie!!!!!! Just wide.

AT: What a chance, Robin van Persie should have scored there!

24 mins:
CT: Whittingham loses out to Gundogan, Gundogan to Kagawa who runs, Kagawa, still going, finds Robin van Persie, van Persie to Valencia, Valencia to Carrick, who feeds in Jones who is advancing from the right, Jones, into the box, Nani! What a save David Marshall!

AT: Great save, but United are piling the press onto Cardiff now!

45 mins:
CT: Manchester United have won a free-kick 35 yards out... and this looks like the last kick of the half, can Manchester go into half time leading? Nani has put the ball down, Both Evans and Ferdinand are up for this free-kick... Nani into the box! Evans! Just over. And that's half time! The score is Manchester United 0 - 0 Cardiff.

HT: MANCHESTER UNITED 0 - 0 CARDIFF

CT: And here come the teams for the second half, can anyone make the breakthrough? Lets find out.

48 mins:
CT: Carrick has the ball, plays through Gundogan, Gundogan to Nani, who skips past one defender, Nani to van Persie, who plays Nani in! NANI!!!! 1-0!!!!!!! A great team goal for Manchester United!!!!!

AT: Great play! That touch from Robin van Persie was delightful, and the finish from Nani was exquisite!

79 mins:
CT: Kagawa to van Persie, back to Kagawa, Kagawa to Valencia who shoots! Tipped away by Marshall! Corner to Manchester United... van Persie takes, into the back post, EVANS! 2-0! Evans made solid contact to double the lead for the Champions!

AT: Great header, but you have to question the marking, look at Evans, he's unmarked at the back post, but the delivery was as sweet as you'd like.

CT: Cardiff have really struggled today, only having two shots on target, can they get back into this game at all?

85 mins:
CT: van Persie receives the ball from Kagawa, he holds up play, lays it off to Gundogan, Gundogan dribbles into the ball, and, is he took down there? PENALTY! My oh my, Ben Turner, what are you thinking there?!

AT: He's just completely took down Gundogan there, 100% a penalty, no question.

CT: van Persie places the ball down on the spot....
van Persie... takes a run up, and SCORES! Right into the top corner, Marshall no chance!

90+3 mins:
CT: Surely the whistle should go now... Evra clears the ball away, and THATS IT! MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE WON THE CAPITAL ONE CUP!!!!!

FT: MANCHESTER UNITED 3 - 0 CARDIFF CITY

I can't believe it! Our second trophy this season!
We played outstanding against Cardiff and fully deserved to win.
Robin van Persie played amazing, and was our key player in that game.
Now, onto our next piece of silverware, the FA Cup, we'll have to get past Newcastle United to reach the semi finals, but that I know we can do.

Being Manchester United's manager is a tough job to begin with, however if you do well and get a good run of form going on in the earlier part of the season, it's a job you begin to love.
I have a meeting soon with the board to discuss how we are doing in all this season and then I have a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson later on in the week.

Hopefully if we keep our good form up, we'll be able to clinch our 21st title early so we do not have to worry about claiming it later on near the end of the season.

Youth Day

*beep* *beep*

I slowly open my eyes and look at my alarm clock.
6:00am was flashing in red from it.
"Urgh." I said to myself, trying to come to terms with waking up.
"Why am I up this early, it's not match day today..." I said, walking towards my calender.
As I scan through my calender, March 15th has some writing underneath it.
'Youth Trials' was written in bold capital letters.
"Youth Trials..." I said to myself, looking quite disappointed.
Then I realised what good talent Manchester United produces every season, from The Class of 92' which I am proudly part of, to players like Adnan Januzaj and Will Keane.

I went to have a shower and prepare for the day ahead.
After I had my shower and put on my suit, I received a text message from Ryan Giggs:

I replied to him very briefly before getting into my car and heading down towards Carrington.

Upon arriving at Carrington, I entered the main complex and met up with Giggsy.
"Morning Becks." He said to me, smiling.
"Morning Giggsy!" I said, giving him a handshake.
"The new lads are in here, there is a couple you should look at." He said, handing me a few reports, which read:

Name: Darren Reeves
Age: 15
Position: Forward
Best roles: Advanced Forward, Poacher, False Nine.
Best Attributes: Finishing, Acceleration, Determination.
CA:
PA:

Name: Ronnie Challinor
Age: 16
Position Defensive Midfielder
Best Roles: Anchor Man, Ball-winning Midfielder
Best Attributes: Tackling, Bravery, Natural Fitness
CA:
PA:

"The other lads you should look at yourself and decide whether you want to sign them or not." Giggsy said, walking outside towards the training grounds pitch.
I followed him.
I instantly saw the new lads doing some training drills, they all stopped and looked at me in awe.
"Lads, don't mind me, keep doing what your doing." I said to them, smiling.
They began to work extra hard during their drills.

They moved onto different exercises, shooting, passing and dribbling, I assessed them one by one.
After a long day, we finished off the trials.
"Okay lads, well done today, You will be contacted tomorrow if you have or haven't got a place in our academy." I said to them, shaking each of their hands.
"Well, Giggsy, reckon we've got another class of 92'?"
"Your joking."

Marouane Fellaini is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering from a broken ankle in the game against Newcastle United.

Fellaini, 26, joined Manchester United at the start of the season and has been a huge figure in their midfield, however this injury will see him take no further part in the rest of the season, however if Manchester United reach the Champions League Final, Fellaini may be fit to start that game.

Manchester United have drawn Bayern Munich for the Champions League Quarter Finals.
United, who comfortably beaten Marseille 7-3 on aggregate travel to the Allianz Arena to face last years winners Bayern Munich which will take place on April Fools Day.

Elsewhere, Man City take on Borussia Dortmund, PSG are at home to Chelsea and Real Madrid take on Barcelona in a El Clasico quarter final.

We spoke to David Beckham after the draw:
"Well, Bayern Munich are the best team in Europe, so we know it's going to be tough, however I have faith in my lads and I know whatever the outcome we will have tried our very best."

Player of the Month

Wilfred Zaha

He got a rare start as Valencia wasn't fit enough to play, and boy, did he impress. A hat-trick against Crystal Palace got him this award!

Manager of the Month

Martin Jol

The question is, have we won the league yet...?

MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE WON THEIR 21ST BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE TROPHY

Manchester United have secured their 21st title after a 1-1 draw away at Newcastle United.
United have been unbeaten for the whole of this season, setting a new all time record for the league.

Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement at the end of last season caused Manchester United's board to choose a new manager to lead the 2013/14 campaign and possibly into the future, Sir Alex Ferguson chose David Moyes but after a disagreement with the board, Moyes left the club and moved back to Scotland.
Sir Alex Ferguson then chose David Beckham as the new manager and he has led Manchester United to success, winning the Charity Shield, The Capital One Cup and now the Barclay's Premier League, and United look set to win the FA Cup too after beating Newcastle United in the quarter finals.

Robin van Persie continued his goal scoring form from last season, scoring 25 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions, however Wayne Rooney was the key man in Manchester United's bid for the title, scoring 16 goals and getting 11 assists.
David Beckham also added to his squad during the summer window, buying Ilkay Gundogan for 23 million pounds, and he has proved to be a key player in United's midfield.

http://i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article2323161.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Robin-van-Persie-and-Wayne-Rooney-2323161.jpg

David de Gea also was a key part in winning the title, with 21 clean sheets in the league, he looks set to win the golden glove award at the end of the season.

We spoke to David Beckham after his side won their 21st title:

"I am extremely delighted to have won the Barclay's Premier League! The whole team this year have been absolutely amazing and they deserve winning this title so much."

"I am really happy to have won all the trophies on offer so far this season, as it's in this club's blood to win silverware, and hopefully we can add to that with both the FA Cup and the Champions League Trophy still up for grabs."

"I also can't believe I've achieved this all in my first season, however I've had a lot of help throughout this season, Sir Alex Ferguson was a big help at the start, my backroom staff deserve a huge mention as they've helped me so much this year, but also the players, they helped me settle down into the world of management and have stuck with me when I've had to make changes around the club."

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/05/06/article-2320120-19A41ED8000005DC-815_634x851.jpg

We also spoke to Manchester United's Captain Nemanja Vidic who said:

"It's been a great season for us, I am very pleased with our progress. I am also very happy for our manager as it's his first season as a manager, and he's been very good."

Manchester United can still win the FA Cup and the Champions League, and if they do, this will be the best ever season in Manchester United's history.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich faced each other at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of the quarter finals, in which the match finished 4-4.
In an exciting game, Arjen Robben scored 4 goals for Bayern Munich to head to Old Trafford in a stalemate with Manchester United.

Javier Hernandez struck first for the away side, however Bayern won an controversial penalty which Robben dispatched very calmly.
Soon after, Danny Welbeck put the away side back in the lead which a superb solo goal, then Wayne Rooney put Manchester United 2 goals to the good with a calm finish into the bottom corner.
Bayern then won yet another controversial penalty, and like last time, Robben was very calm and put his side back into the game.
Robben then got his hat-trick, scoring a deflected shot to make it 3-3.
Javier Hernandez got his second of the game when he beat the offside trap and chipped Manuel Neuer.
Robben salvaged a draw for Bayern Munich by scoring a 20 yard shot.

Overall, Bayern got lucky with two of their goals, however Manchester United have the advantage due to 4 away goals and the second leg being held at the fortress that is Old Trafford.
