Day Of Reckoning For Nottingham Forest

Crowds have gathered in thousands to watch there team hopefully lift the Premier League Trophy

All eyes will be on The Brian Clough Arena this weekend as Champions League semi-finalists Nottingham Forest battle for the Premier League title. Forest are potentially just one point away from becoming Premier League Champions for the first time in 48 years. The opponents are Leeds and the fans who have all gathered outside the stadium because the match is going to be shown to them aswell as the 69,750 people inside the stadium. Leeds know that if they win all of their remaining fixtures, they will avoid relegation from the McDonald's Premier League and as such hold their fate in their own hands.

Come onnnnnnnnnn!!!! We can do it said a season ticket holder. We have been amazing this season and it is going to be the best day for us ever. said another.

I can not wait to lead this team out at home to win the League.

Elsewhere, Champions League quarter-finalists Arsenal play Southampton at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal will secure a place in next season's Uefa Europa League if they beat Southampton, but will still harbour hopes of qualifying for the Champion's League. Derby are amongst the three teams poised to overtake Southampton if they fail to pick up maximum points.

Swansea also face Spurs in the best of the rest.
Not far now :D

Disappointment For Forest

Shaw Speaks Out

Come On guys keep your heads up! We dod not lose by much and it is still definately in our hands. So what a inform Leeds side defeated us we are still only 1 point away from the title that deserves to be ours! said Luke Shaw, our inspirational captain.

Leeds absolutely played a good match, but there are still three matches to go and that is only aslong as Chelsea win all of theres. We know that if Chelsea have one slip up then they will have lost the title and it would be ours. We took the lead in the first half but Leeds were better than us the whole match and deserved to win it. You know Luke is right and i told my lads that too, we have a important Champions League match to play now and must not let it bother us!

Forest Still In It At End Of First Leg

Monaco had there midfield to thank on a soaking wet evening at The Brian Clough Arena as they showed there strikers how to finish in a 2-2 draw.

Winger Leonidas Doxaras gave the French club the lead with a placed shot on the 46th minute only for Forest to equalise 10 minutes later as Temitope Knight scored a weak shot that the Keeper should have saved.

Doxaras then got his second of the match with a tidy finish from 15 yards out on the 82nd minute. With Monaco already begining to celebrate, eexplosive Striker Colin Kyle scored a long range effort to leave the tie poised at 2-2.

Title Chance: Judgement Day!

Uefa Champions League semi-finalists Nottingham Forest are sure-fire favourites to overwhelm relegation-threatened West Ham in what should be a comfortable home encounter for The Reds, according to Sky Bet.

They make forest 1/6 odds on favourites with the drew 5/1 and West Ham to win is 10/1.

Title contenders Nottingham Forest are currently lying in 1st place in the McDonald's Premier League and only need 1 point to win the league. Forest have won 4 of their last 5 home league matches.

West Ham have now suffered three straight defeats and the relegation candidates find themselves in 18th place in the Premier League and have only won 1 match out of there last five away matches.

Diez Rallies His Troops

Forest attacking midfielder Enrique Diez has called on his team to keep their league title challenge on course by beating West Ham.

With three matches remaining of the season, Forest will want at least a draw to win the title and Diez has said he would love to boost their chances in front of the West Ham and his own fans by winning on Saturday.
You really should be winning this match, so hopefully you can. Also, Diez earns so much money :o

Nottingham Forest: History Makers

On a mild spring evening at The Brian Clough Arena, Nottingham Forest captain Luke Shaw lived the dream of many a supporter as he lifted the McDonald's Premier League Trophy.

Forest were considered an underachieving club by English league standards until the mid-1970s, when Brian Clough and his assistant Peter Taylor took the helm at the club, shortly after Clough's highly colourful, very controversial and ultimately disastrous 44-day tenure as manager of Leeds United. Clough became the most successful manager in the history of Nottingham Forest. He had won the league title with Forest's neighbours Derby County in 1972, and came to Nottingham Forest on 6 January 1975, after a 0–2 home defeat by Notts County, on Boxing Day, prompted the committee (Forest had no board of directors then) to sack the previous manager Allan Brown. Clough's first game in charge was the third round FA Cup replay against Tottenham Hotspur, a 1–0 victory thanks to a goal by Scottish centre-forward Neil Martin.

Nottingham Forest won promotion to the top division at the end of the 1976–77 season after finishing third in the Second Division, but no-one could have predicted how successful Clough's team would be over the next three seasons. Nottingham Forest became one of the few teams (and the most recent team to date) to win the English First Division Championship a year after winning promotion from the English Second Division (1977–78 season). In 1978–79, Forest went on to win the European Cup by beating Malmö 1–0 in Munich's Olympiastadion and retained the trophy in 1979–80, beating Hamburg 1–0 in Madrid, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, thanks to an outstanding performance by goalkeeper Peter Shilton. They also won the European Super Cup and two League Cups. Beside Shilton, key players of that era included right-back Viv Anderson (the first black player to play for the England national team), midfielder Martin O'Neill, striker Trevor Francis and a trio of Scottish internationals: winger John Robertson, midfielder Archie Gemmill and defender Kenny Burns. The club reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in 1983–84 but were knocked out by Anderlecht in controversial circumstances. It later emerged that in the second leg, the Belgian club had bribed the referee but the referee in question had since died in a car accident and was hence not able to be held to account.

Piter scored the first from the penalty spot after laporte fouled Kyle. Forest went for a 4-3-3 formation today because West Hame played a 3-4-2-1, with 4 dehfensive midfielders.

Forest fans celebrate Piter's penalty going in.

Flamboyant striker Diez then doubled Forest's lead with a close range finish which was timed impeccably on the 41st minute. Penska then gave away a second penalty for Forest, one which Piter dispatched with confidence.

Morgan Thomas put in a Man Of The Match performance during Forest's convincing 3-0 win over a very substandard West Ham side.

The defender played superbly and looked really comfortable on the ball. The central defender's dominance in the air was a major factor towards this very good perfomance.

Gajski Declares Proud Day

Former player Damir Gajski was first to come out and say how happy he was for his former club winning the title. The player who is now on Shakhtar's books had this to say. I am proud to have been part of the 'long term' project by manager Kevin Keegan and the board will only know how good he is when he leaves. The fans are the most important thing to a club and they will no doubt be very happy with what Keegan has achieved.

The board have came out and said that a club of Nottingham Forest's stature was always going to be capable of winning the League and they are happy with the achievement. However with the relations with Kevin at a all time low, they will no doubt be looking forward to the day he leaves as manager of Nottingham Forest.

Fans celebrate at the final whistle

Managers Thoughts

IF you would have said to me that we would win the title this season I would have laughed in your face. But thanks to this amazing group of lads, we have done it and I hope whoever takes the job after me can keep the work up because I love this club, I hate the board but love the club. There is no player I can single out.

At the moment it is still sinking in but next we have a very important second leg in the semi-final of the Uefa Champions League and we need to win that but for tonight we will celebrate as we have deserved it. I have been asked where does this rank with winning the World Cup and I would say it is better because I have build this up over 6 whole years.
Great graphic and congrats on the title win
Good win ! Congrats on the title win
Nick Thanks and yes it was easy :p

Final Match Of The Season

Conte: Keegan Is One Of The Best

Conte speaks out about departing manager Keegan

Antonio Conte took several questions about the next fixture, Kevin Keegan and Morgan Thomas in the build-up to Arsenal's McDonald's Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

BBC Radio 5 Liver chose the main focal point for the press conference with journalist Travis Blackmore asking, "Your encounter with Forest on Sunday sees you come up against a juliant Kevin Keegan following his recent Manager Of The Month win and on the back of winning the Premier League title, which is something you have experienced SEVEN times since managing the Gunners. What are your thoughts on this?

Conte said, Look, I am sure that Kevin will be delighted with the manager of the month award and winning the Premier League, but he will be departing England because of some idiotic board members at Forest. I mean we should be holding on to managers of Kevin's abilities here but he has done fantastic with Forest. I remember when he won the World Cup and sensationally resigned. I thought he had gone for good but Forest hired him and the first 2 season's he kept them afloat and then he hit mid table and exploited a golden era in Croatian football. He then got his side to challenge us at the top and this season they have been fantastic and deserve everything that they have got and I will miss him when he leaves.

Keegan Steps Down

Nottingham Forest manager has, as expected resigned from his position as Manager after a total of 6 years in the job. Keegan took over in 2022 when Forest were in the relegation zone and he has turned them into a very tough team to beat.

Nottingham Forest's board and fans were quick to pay tribute to their long-serving manager, declaring that whilst they were sad to see Kevin leave, his announcement had given everyone an opportunity to celebrate on of the club's most faithful servants.

Keegan's side lifted the McDonald's Premier League title this season, finishing the campaign with a three match unbeaten run.

It is still unknown where Keegan will go but there are still rumours to Porto and Lyon but he has stayed tight lipped on the whole thing. One thing for sure he WILL be in management before pre-season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjear Leaves Barcelona

Manchester United have pushed back the years to hire former player Ole Gunnar Solskjear as their new manager.

The 55-year old, who spent 17 years as a player at Old Trafford is widely respected in the world of football and admitted to journalists that he jumped at the chance to rejoin his former club.

That means he has left Barcelona and with Kevin Keegan looking for a club who would like there reputation restored what better choice would be Barcelona, who have only won the title once in 14 years, and only managed 3rd place this season. He is 5/1 for the role and only Ukrainian Dortmund manager Roman Grygorchuk ahead of him in the odds at 2/1f.

I personally will wait to see if THEY get in touch with me. If they do then I will listen to them, if not then I won't lose any sleep over it.
Congrats on winning the title :D Whatever you do, please do not go to Porto!!!!!
Good luck on the job search. You will get a new job soon!

Keegan Lands A Job

Today I flew back out to Madrid to finalise my new house in preparation for my move to become Real Madrid's new Head Coach.

Keegan's new house

Real Madrid offered the English Manager a interview and they were apparently blown away by Keegan. I just went in there and showed them how much I wanted the job. I explained the difficulties with the Forest job and how I was still able to produce the title, but I told them I wanted a contract to build up a young team here but I am going for the title next season.

Keegan, who will manage in the Bernabeu next season also told of his rejections from Benfica and most importantly Barcelona. Barcelona wanted me to manage a way I did not want to so when Real found out how I wanted to manage then they contacted me and I am thrilled to be going to Madrid.

Rumours are that 3 or 4 players will follow him from Forest aswell as the likes of coach Steven Gerrard and Nicky Butt.
