End of Season Overview
What a great season. Profits, trophies, goals and joy. My soldiers have just officially lifted the Skrill North trophy. Not the most glamorous trophy ever but still a trophy. This gives us the confidence to go one further. To the Sky Bet League 2.
65 games, 53 won, 4 drawn, 8 lost, 190 goals for, 42 goals against, 81% win percentage. I honestly couldn't ask for more, we have broken 3 English league records, we won 119 points beating the previous record of 106 by Reading in the 2005-06 season, we were level with the record for most goals scored in a season with the other team holding the record is Peterborough who scored 134 goals in the Fourth Division in the 1960-61 season, we conceded the least goals in one season, conceding 12 with the last record held by Preston North End in the 1888-89 season, their invincible season and Chelsea in the 2004-05 season. Finally we achieved the largest goal difference by a huge +51 goal gap on the previous record holders, Chelsea who had a +71 goal difference in the 2009-10 season, we earned a +122 goal difference.
Also, the official profits for the season were announced by the General Manager Rob Taylor and Director of Football Pete Hannah. We had made a huge profit of around £38.5M, 38 percent of our turnover which was £101M. Detailed accounts will be presented to the shareholders at the AGM next month.
Onto awards, Damien Reeves won the Player of the Year award, which were voted by Skrill North managers, he also won top goalscorer, scoring
42 goals in 38 games,
27 out of 26 coming in the league.
I also won Manager of the Year, again voted by Skrill North managers. I voted for Colwyn Bay player/manager Frank Sinclair who used to play for Chelsea.
Back to finances, our purchase of the stadium has been finally completed according to General Manager Rob Taylor. This means we will stop having to worry about paying the rent as it is our property now.
