En-Masse: 2013/14

I have elected to do a larger update for our progress up until now, and going forward updates will be monthly, with league position updates etc.

Overall, our first 4 months were a mixed bag, but we seem to be regaining some form, which is certainly encouraging!

Top Scorer (so far): Iago Aspas (6)
Most Assists (so far): Coutinho (4)

Currently, we're sitting 7th in the league, 8 points off of league leaders Norwich (yeah, you read that right!)

*monthly updates from now on; that was a lot of writing!*
You're doing well! It's hard to impress with youngsters! Keep it up like this and in a couple of years you'le be unbeatable!

Thanks mate! means a lot :) i'm casually weaning them into the squad; Chirivella has made himself more or less undroppable, as has Henderson, and to a certain extent Joe Allen...January transfer window might see some big names leaving...for the right price of course
Good results in general mate, especially in the last month!

December 2013

1 Win in 5 games...there's not really much more to say...

Oh, wait, Daniel Sturridge is out until near enough the end of the season, too...my month just gets better and better!

Anyway, enough moping, on to the results!

Fulham 0-0 Liverpool (Premier League)
A fairly average performance; our defence did enough to keep them at bay, but their defence did the same to us as we cancelled each other out...not much more to say
John Flanagan (7.6)

West Brom 4-1 Liverpool (Premier League)
Skrtel (84)
Jack Robinson (90)
Jordan Henderson (7.7)
A poor performance, in all honesty. I've named Henderson as my man of the match because he never stopped trying, giving it his all for the team. Our defence was diabolical for the whole game, really having a torrid time of it against Matej Vydra in particular, who was unstoppable.

Liverpool 3-0 Sunderland (Premier League)
Henderson (8)
Aspas (23)
Suarez (61)
Kelly (5)
Robinson (52)
Luis Suarez (9.0)
A much better performance again from the team, as they looked dangerous every time they pushed forward, and looked solid in defence, with several last-ditch tackles, and solid defending of set-pieces.

Liverpool 1-3 Everton (Premier League)
Suarez (68)
Suarez (45+3)
Aspas (46)
Flanagan (72)
Allen (83)
Chirivella (6.9)
Its always hard to lose a derby...it's even harder when your players genuinely look like they dont give a f***. We were poor across the board today, although Chirivella was a cut above everyone else when he came on, setting Suarez up for our consolation goal. The lads got some harsh words in the dressing room at the end of this.

Tottenham 3-0 Liverpool (Premier League)
Robinson (36)
Henderson (71)
Lucas (92)
Sturridge (73)
Same story, different opponent. I've not named a man of the match for this game, because not one player deserved it.

Player of the Month:Jordan Henderson
Young Player of the Month:Pedro Chirivella
League Position:9th (28 Points)

So, a poor month, and we are now 5 points off a Europa League spot, and 14 off the League Leaders Chelsea (Norwich have dropped to 3rd!)

Here's hoping next month is better :)
Tough month with tough games, but I reckon you can bounce back :)

i'm hoping so! the feedback means a lot; hoping everyone keeps reading...I need some sleep so next update will probably be tomorrow at some point :)
What a poor month, but I'm sure you're capable to get better results and tocreach, at least, an Europa League place.
Well, not the best month and the defeat from the Mereyside derby will hurt the fans! I like your idea of promoting youngsters, but if you won't qualify for EL you may get fired :|

Yeah, that's what I set as my season expectation, although my security still says stable...we shall see...

January 2014

What's the saying? It never rains but it pours?

We're not quite there yet, but we can't be far off, with another disappointing month

Man Utd 3-1 Liverpool (Premier League)
Aspas (65)
Suarez (63)
Agger (85)
Aspas (7.0)
We had a torrid time of it against United, with our defence caught flat-footed for two of their three goals...I think we maybe played well enough to get something out of the game, but it wasn't forthcoming...hopefully the team can pick themselves up from this and move on.

Birmingham 1-3 Liverpool (FA Cup 3rd Round)
Coutinho (8, 66)
Aspas (14)
Coutinho (8.8)
This was a much better all-round performance, with the team really demonstrating what they're capable of when they feel like it. The whole side combined well, playing some great possession football, and slicing Birmingham wide-open at times.

Norwich 1-1 Liverpool (Premier League)
Skrtel (75)
Sakho (53)
Jack Robinson (7.6)
A decent performance from the side, again playing some good football, and producing some great defensive work to keep Norwich at bay.

Liverpool 2-0 Hull (Premier League)
Sakho (27, 38)
Lucas (19)
Flanagan (59)
Henderson (70)
Sakho (70)
Sakho (9.0)
It was all about the defenders in this game; Sakho scoring two goals from set pieces, and playing an incredible game in general to maintain our clean sheet. I'm starting to worry about the lack of goals from our front-line, but with Suarez and Sturrdge both injured, I can only pray that changes soon.

Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea (Premier League)
Henderson (6.9)
The only good thing I can say about this is it's one less goal than we conceded last time out against Chelsea...we were truly woeful today.

Liverpool 0-1 Man City (FA Cup 4th Round)
Lucas (7.2)
I was furious at this; we had a clear (and definite) penalty turned down no less than 2 minutes before Man City were given a soft one which Dzeko converted to put us out...i'm not ususally one to blame officials, but on this occassion, I feel i'm entitled. (Even the FA kept quiet about my outspoken press conference response)
Despite that, we were good in all areas of the pitch today, and really deserved more

Swansea 3-2 Liverpool (Premier League)
Sakho (21)
Suarez (91)
Gerrard (73)
Coutinho (8.2)
This was a real heartbreaker. Swansea scored in the 4th minute of the 3 minutes of added time...although all credit to them, it was a 35-yard screamer that took a deflection off the post and the crossbar...i've never seen anything like it on FM before!

Player of the Month: Sakho
Young Player of the Month: Coutinho
League Position: 10th (11 points from EL)

boo.
You have to bounce back mate, if you'll keep it like that is possible that the chairman will fire you.. Good luck!

I know...researching some tactics as we speak...also, Mingolet has turned into a total flop in goal...he just stands and watches shots drop past him, it's pathetic :( any tips? My only other keeper is Fulton, and hes nowhere near standard yet

Try to speak with him, mate or to train him at determination or concentration.

February 2014

This month was very much a do-or-die period for us, and with only 4 games, it was vital to make every minute count.

Aston Villa 0-0 Liverpool (Premier League)
Robinson (7.2)
A draw was a fair result here, with both teams cancelling each other out; and our peformance was a definite improvement from last month's shambles! Pedro Chirivella was denied by the post 3 times in one attack, and Luis Suarez wasted a golden opportunity, blazing over from 0 yards, Kanu style!

Liverpool 2-2 Newcastle (Premier League)
Alberto (22, 50)
Luis Alberto (8.8)
Another draw, but the positives were there in the fact that we scored twice, and both goals came from an attacker! Still some work to be done defensively, but so far, we're unbeaten this month!

Arsenal 3-0 Liverpool (Premier League)
Poor. There's no other word for our performance in the second half. In the first half, we threatened for most of it, but couldnt make our chances pay, and after half-time it was like watching schoolboys, we just fell to peieces.

Liverpool 3-0 Crystal Palace
Suarez (11)
Coutinho (41)
Henderson (93)
Luis Alberto (9.3)
A win which has been long overdue. Suarez getting a goal which has been a long time coming, and the whole team playing well! Couldn't be happier with the performance today

Player of the Month: Luis Alberto
Young Player of the Month: Luis Alberto
League Position: 9th (9 Points off EL Place)
