A Closer Look At December

Manager of the month

Guus Hiddink wins Manager of the Month for the 1st time this season, after his side won 6 of 7, including a 4-2 drubbing of Manchester City. The only loss was to in-form Swansea City.

Player of the Month

One of Hiddink's many stars, Juan Mata, was the proud recipient of December's Player of the Month award. Juan Mata has 7 goals so far, and he's one of many in contention for the Player of the Season Award.

Young Player of the Month

Sunderland's young star, Doria, wins YPOTM again for Sunderland. With reported intererst from Manchester United, it's unknown how long Doria will be a Black Cat.

Leading Average Rating

Manchester City's Argentine superstar is top of the average rating charts again. Messi has a 7.93 match rating going into January, as well as 5 goals and 5 assists.

Leading Goalscorer

Croat Mario Mandzukic is top of the scoring charts going into January, with 11 goals to his name. That puts him level on goals with teammate Luis Suarez, who forms one of the league's deadliest scoring tandems with Manduzkic.

Leading Assister

Last year's Signing of the Season continues to shine for struggles Tottenham so far, as last year's top scorer has managed to assist his teammates 11 times so far, but the German starlet has only hit the back of the net twice this year.

Offsides Leader

Nobody is envious of Gabby Agbonlahor's award for this month. He's managed to be offsides a grand total of 46 times.

Leading Tackler

Phil Jagielka has succeeded in winning 85 tackles for Everton this year.

4 wins in a row, and goals from both my new domestic signings, things seem to be on the up!
EPL still hasn't improved much for is, but we're in the Capital One Cup final for the second year running! I expect new boss Pep Guardiola to thrash Stoke in the final and make this season a tiny bit better for our fans.
