City Fire Pellegrini Already!

Pellegrini has been fired

Manuel Pellegrini has been sacked by Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarek. Pellegrini's departure comes in the wake of a recent run of bad rseults for The Citizens and the club felt that a change was necessary for the good of the team.

The former Malaga employee had been at Man City since July 2013. Man City have been disappointing in the Premier League so far and find themselves down in 10th place. Man City have lost three of their last five matches.

Pundits in the media are already speculating that high-profile manager Diego Simeone could be the one who City go after and he could be tempted to quit Atletico for the post.

Could Simeone be the guy to replace Manuel?

A host of other top class managers are also in the frame with the likes of Luciano Spalletti, Michael Laundrup and Claudio Ranieri.
my money's on Laudrup...Spalletti will be at Liverpool by the end of next season ;D

We Will Dent Arsenal's Title Challenge

Brendan Rodgers, today spoke about Arsene Wenger and Arsenal being top today and he had a lot to say on both along with Robin van Persie.

I think we have a great chance of beating Arsenal at the moment because they do not like playing us and although they are top at the moment, they are not going to last because Arsenal never do. We have a player in Robin van Persie who works extremely hard for the team and is a player Arsenal are lacking.

Nicklas Bendtner is currently the Arsenal top scorer and they do score a lot of goals. I am glad to announce that David De Gea will be back in the team for this match and Steven Naismith will also be back in the team. I think we are going to win and win comfortably. We have the better team and Arsene Wenger is just getting lucky at the moment, they know the team and who will play they just need to really work on how to stop us and I don't think they can.

United Make A Few Errors But Stay In Race

In a month where Manchester United suffered two costly defeats against title rivals, they had an absolutely amazing match against Southampton when they had 39 shots on goal, and luckily they won because it would have been a travesty if they did not win!

Champions League 1st Knockout Round

In the Champions League draw, there are all the usual suspects but the surprising outfit this season is Czech side Viktoria Plzen, who topped there group by 5 points and have a tie against Chelsea as a reward and they will have to really not underestimate the Czech side. Ajax play Man Utd, Schalke play Man City and the tie of the round is Dortmund against Atletico.

Brendans Verdict

Rodgers celebrates Southampton victory

We had a great month in my view. I would like to say sorry for the two game dip in form though. The Man City match really frustrated me because we had done so well up unitl then and we ended up just awful. I just wanted to cry at the end of the match and I blanked the side because they new they had let the fans down. I stuck with the same team to play Newcastle and we were hopeless again so I dropped Rooney for the Southampton match and my god did they do well.

We had 39 shots to there two and hit the woodwork 9 times! Steven Naismith now has 12 goals already this season. His best ever season was 15 goals for Kilmarnock in 2006/07 season so I think he could get to 20 goals and maybe more.

I want to give a shout out to Julian Draxler too because he has had a lot of stick for someone so young. I think he has bounced back tremendously and the fans are now on his side.

The match of the month was the Zenit match for me and the performances of John Stones and Matthias Ginter were fantastic. I hope we can close the gap on the leaders Arsenal as we are only 3 points off second but we need Arsenal to slip up and trust me they will because they are not strong enough at the moment.

Transfer Watch

Manchester United are the club in focus for us all today as there is likely to be a lot of deals, mostly out but there are a few potential players that Brendan Rodgers will be looking to bring in.

So lets talk about the potential big name leaving Man Utd. That is Wayne Rooney, he has gone on record and said that he can not work with Rodgers anymore and is looking to move.

Rooney is wanted by several clubs

There is interest in Wayne, from the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern and Monaco. We will definately sell him this window and it could even be to a club in England said Rodgers.

That will alert the likes of Man City and Chelsea, with Mourinho saying he is a player who he wants at the club.

Kagawa & Young also look set to leave

Another two certain to leave will be Kagawa and Young. Neither have featured at all this season. Kagawa is a target for Juventus and Inter Milan. Ashley Young is wanted by a couple of Premier League teams in Aston Villa and West Ham but they will both be leaving again.

The player who could make a shock switch though is Juan Mata! He has been in and out of the team but is well liked by Rodgers. It is understood Man City and Barcelona could test United with a £35m bid and with Rodgers looking to invest in the squad it would be tempting for the United manager.

So with those players leaving we ask who could come in because they would need one striker 2 attacking midfielders and we think a left back to replace Buttner when hes suspended.

Two possible transfer targets in Wellington Nem & Jordan Rhodes

There are two strikers to look at we think. The first is 23 year old Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes. He is a very good friends with Steven Naismith and we know that the United scouting team have been looking at him for around 10 games now. Rhodes would make a great capture I think and will really add something to the squad.

The other player is Wellington Nem, who is at Shakhtar and has pedigree and is so much more experienced than Rhodes but has the disadvantage of being inexperienced in England so it will be interesting to see if any of them will be sold.

Shaqiri is attracting plenty of interest

The two Attacking Midfielders Man Utd should look to would be Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern who is reportedly unhappy at the club and would be available for a decent price. They would face competition however from Man City and Chelsea who are said to be courting the talented winger. But the shock candidates seem to be second placed Everton who are reported to have had a bid of £14.5m rejected.

Could Townsend leave Spurs?

The second winger is also wanted by Man City and is Spurs wonderkid Andros Townsend. Townsend has gone on record saying he does not believe that Spurs are a big club and thinks he has a great chance of securing a big move. Man City are willing to pay in excess of around £19m but Rodgers we feel would beat the valuation.

Could a shock move be on the cards for Gibbs?

The last guy we will speak about is the left back situation because there is a chance to sign Keiran Gibbs from Arsenal. He has fell out of favour at The Emirates and Rodgers could swoop for him if he wants another home grown player in the squad.
Wellington Nem <3

Excellent update mate, keep it up
Andy Townsend would be a good signing! Good updates pal!
Awesome story so far mate. Naismith is a beast!

United Sign Two Potential Scottish Wonderkids

Manchester United today announced the signings of two potential stars in the words of manager Brendan Rodgers.

The first signing is 17 year old Ryan Gauld from Dundee United. The 17 year old signs for an initial fee of £2m with over £9m of add on fees. The attacking midfielder comes with a big reputation to live up to.

Gould in action for Dundee United, now is a Manchester United player

United beat the likes of Man City, Liverpool and Celtic to the signing and the youngster was thrilled to be the newest addition to the squad. I spoke to Steven and asked him what it was like here and he convinced me that this was the only place to come to. I would like to stay here for a long time and if the club think that I could be loaned out to get experience then I will do as they say. I am a very happy lad at the moment though.

Rhodes Joins United along with Gauld

Joining him at Old Trafford is former Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes. He joins on a 5 year deal just like Ryan did and can't wait to pull on the iconic Red Devil shirt either.

What a moment for a player like me! I never in a million years thought that I would be a United player on the first day of the transfer window. I hope to repay the managers faith in me and show the world how good I can be. There are now three players here that are scottish and the future for us all looks bright.
TAT Nem could be a good signing

FMHunter Andy Townsend is a bit old but Andros could do a job :P

OR Thanks mate and yeah Naismith is a beasttttt

Townsend Signs From Spurs

Manchester United announced the signing of Andros Townsend today taking there January signings to three already and with rumours of Shaqiri and Wellington Nem on the horizon too things are definitely going to be shaken up in the next few weeks.

Townsend signs because he wanted to play in the Champions League and believed that Tottenham could not regulary give him that chance so in a £16m deal he moves on a 5 year contract and manager Rodgers was very pleased to have landed the 22 year old Englishman.

Andros is one of the most exciting youngsters to be produced in recent times. He will entertain the fans and also will bring even better depth. With three spots available for the attacking midfield we need great depth and with the prospect of two more coming in this is an exciting time for Manchester United.

Andros was also pleased to have signed for United. I am shocked that they wanted me to be honest! I will do my best for the manager and the fans. I am an entertainer and I will try to entertain everyone associated with the club.

Dream Debut For Townsend

Andros Townsend was the best player on the park in his Manchester United debut today during the 3-2 F.A Cup victory against Swansea.

The right winger netted the winning goal to round off his performance by skinning an opponent on his way to scoring a long range effort. It was a spectacular strike and well worthy of winning a game.

Townsend had the quality to put the Swansea City defence to the sword and finished the match with two goals. Townsend equalised for United in the 23rd minute with a real poachers effort from 20 yards out. Townsend scored the winner on the 64th minute with a long range effort.

It was a sensational effort from Townsend who had promised to entertain fans when he signed for the club and captured the attention of the fans and pundits alike. The right winger's impressive display was in part down to the threat he caused on occasion to the opposition defence when he ran at them with the ball.

Shaqiri Signs On For United

Xherdan Shaqiri and the worse kept secret ever came true today when he finally moved to Man Utd for a reported £31m.

Shaqiri had spent two seasons at Bayern following a £9.75m move from Swiss side FC Basel but decided to cutt his losses and go for it on the big stage. Shaqiri becomes Brendan Rodgers' forth signing with Rhodes, Gauld and Townsend already at United.

I think this could be a good thing. Man Utd have a lot of very awesome talent and I am honoured to be part of it.

Rodgers though had a bit more to say about it. With Nani probably moving I had to move fast for extra options and Xherdan fits the bill brilliantly. He is a good lad and will learn a lot of things while he is with us. I just want him to knuckle down and tell me he has the best chance.
SHAQIRI!! :D keep it up bro

Nani Moves On

Nani today signed for Manchester United's Champions League first knockout stage opponents Ajax. Nani who had been at United for five years was deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by manager Brendan Rodgers.

He joins Dutch league leaders Ajax in a cut price £9.25m deal but with new signings Andros Townsend and Xherdan Shaqiri joining the club and the expected arrival of Wellington Nem it was obvious that some players would be leaving. Fans are divided whether Nani should have left the club or not.

Nani played his first match against FC Twente in the Dutch League and scored the winning goal.
