The two managers took different approaches to this Wembley Final. Andrew Booy selected his strongest possible 11 with Kevin Volland replacing the cup-tied Timo Werner, Eder Alvarez Balanta replaced Jonathan Tah in defence. Jose Mourinho however stuck faith in a largely reserve side that had got Chelsea to the final. Eden Hazard, Jeison Murillo, Paco Alcacer, Gary Cahill and Lars Bender were out injured.
