Oriental Takeover Collapses
A Bola
Oriental Lisbon's proposed takeover has all but broken down after current chairman José Nabais decided to pull the plug in order for manager Vitor Martins to be able to do his transfer dealings in the January transfer window.
Nabais had long grown frustrated with the drawn out takeover saga, which meant a transfer embargo was placed on the club for over a month. Nabais had rejected several offers and had asked the buyers to speed up their next offer.
The offers came from José Manuel Lopes de Castro, a local businessman from the Póvoa de Varzim regen. It is unknown whether he would have kept Vitor Martins in his position as manager or invest more money into the club, but now all those thoughts can be washed away as Nabais will be forced to stay on for the remainder of January.
"It's frustrating that the deal couldn't go through," said 57-year old Nabais. "But it would've been unfair on Vitor to not allow him to strengthen in the transfer market after all he has put up with."
Vitor Martins did not have anything to say on the subject, stating that it was not his business and he was as in the dark about the whole situation as everyone else on the outside. "I'm just looking forward to getting back down to business," Martins said.
This last comment fuels speculation that signings may be on the way to the Estádio Eng. Carlos Salema in the near future, but no one quite knows who. More to come.

In other words, (Calmly) "I've got nothing specific to say right now, you all know what you have to do out there"
Martins is a Nabaistard if you ask me.
Nabais update.
Noooo, low budget D: Maybe look for a superstar free agent?

Haha, thanks AAN
Hmmm, usually when the takeover collapses the businessman panics and takes over the club shortly after. Lets see if that happens with you, as I assume you'd welcome some extra cash. Nice update
