Tottenham reject signs for County
Nabil Bentaleb joins Stockport County on a free transfer, after recently being released from Tottenham due to his contract expiring.
The 21 year old joins County on a 2 year deal earning around £425 a week and the young midfielder is relishing the chance to play under a team like Stockport County and hopes that he can help the team get promoted whilst developing his skills at the club.
Bentaleb didn't have the best of times at Tottenham, failing to even make a single appearance but the French born midfielder is determined to get his career back on track in Edgeley aiding Slater's men to yet another promotion after they recently made it back into the Football League.
"This club is one that is on the up and I'm really looking forward to playing here. It has a great management team and many players with some exceptional ability which I am looking forward to learning from. I hope that I can get my career back on track here as it wasn't fun sitting on the bench at Tottenham."
Due to Bentaleb's arrival, there are many rumours that young midfielder Archie Love may be departing from the club to free up some of the clubs wage bill and we will bring you the latest on this when we get the news.
Very nice signing and ofc a nice update and graphic too!
Stockport announce link with Arsenal
Stockport County have announced a link with Barclay's Premier League side Arsenal, in which Arsenal can send players to Stockport without the cost of wages.
Both clubs are delighted with the link and hope it leads to bigger and better things. The link will last until either one of the parties decides to terminate it. Arsenal will pay an annual fee of £75,000 to Stockport County and will schedule a friendly game at Edgeley Park.
Stockport County manager Josh Slater: "It's a great time for both clubs, as we get to have first picks at some of their younger players and Arsenal get to loan them out for experience and development, so it's a big benefit for both clubs here. I'm looking forward to seeing who is available and aiding in improving them."
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "I'm pleased that we've come to an agreement. I know that lots of our younger players want first team experience which I know they can achieve at Stockport. They are a team which are constantly improving and I know their manager Josh Slater can really help my players improve.
A good partnership, hopefully you can add to your Manchester United Under 19's Stockport County squad!
Wenger is really thinking 'who the fuck are Stockport?' only joking. Will benefit you a lot here
