Truro fans took to Twitter to voice their opinion on the clubs staff calling for club icon Stewart Yetton to have a role off the pitch. Many fans believe Yetton would be a great candidate to become the assistant manager at the club but no indication has been made as to what role he would undertake.


Truro City chairman David Cardoza has stated his opinion on the campaign. “We will be looking to keep Stewart involved with the club as long as possible”. “He is the greatest player in the clubs history and we will be looking to have not only Stewart but other former players from the club and the area involved. Whether or not Stewart becomes the assistant manager is up to the manager.” Cardoza added.


When asked about the Twitter campaign Stewart Yetton said “I love the Truro fans as well as the area in general, I have great friends here so if I was to do anything after I retire in football, it would be with Truro City.” When asked about the possibility of a role as an assistant manager, Yetton replied casually, saying, "I think you've got to take things one step at a time. I'm still playing, so in reality I shouldn't even be thinking about coaching yet. I think contemplating an assistant role is a little premature, but in the future, who knows?" Yetton only recently scored his 300th goal for the club and has been at Truro for twelve seasons in total.

Truro currently sits in 19th in the Sky Bet League 2 thanks to a recent turn around in form. The Cornwall outfit seems to be playing with a lot more confidence after some positive results. Their next fixture scheduled to be against Oldham who are currently in 11th place with the match to be played at Boundary Park.

In the first fixture of the month, Truro went to Boundary Park with an almost full strength side, conceding early when David Perkins scored in the 8th minute. The rest of the first half fairly even but just before half-time, captain Arran Pugh received a yellow card which saw him suspended for the one game after collecting five throughout the season so far.

After the break, Truro gave away a penalty in the 50th minute after Josh Langley brought down Saul inside the box. Callum Cooke stepped up and converted the penalty to put Oldham ahead by two goals. Shortly after, Cooke split the defence with a through ball to Anthony Clay who placed a shot past Ollie Chenoweth to see Oldham come away with a 3-0 victory.


Truro came out aggressive in the first half, with both Tim Alcock and Dan Green receiving yellow cards early on. Later on in the 40th minute, Truro was awarded a penalty after Aiden O’Brien was obstructed by Andrew Hughes during a corner. Kurtis March stepped up to attempt the penalty, only for Mark Cousins to make the save to see the game head to half time at 0-0.

After the break, O’Brien got onto the end of a March cross and heading the ball past Cousins to give Truro the lead. Only five minutes later, O’Brien scored again when Dan Green’s cross deflected off Giles Coke, falling straight to O’Brien who put Truro further in front. The rout continued when in the 82nd minute, Adam Boyes beat three defenders and then put the ball in the bottom corner. The final goal of the match saw Jamie Richards hit a volley from a Chez Isaac corner to see Newport head back to Wales disappointed.


Truro opened the scoring almost immediately in the fixture against Truro after a shot from Kelvin Etuhu hit the post and rebounded off goalkeeper Luke McCormick’s back in the 2nd minute. Chris Long levelled the score at 1-1 after Ollie Chenoweth stopped a free kick and then saved the follow up from Long, only for Long to eventually score on the third attempt. Chez Isaac regained the lead for Truro before the end of the half when he put home a half volley from an Adam Boyes cross.

Straight after the break, Long scored his second goal to see the team locked at 2-2 with a placed shot past Chenoweth. Tim Alcock then put Truro back into the lead once more when he scored in bizarre fashion. His lofted pass missed Aiden O’Brien only for McCormick to lose the ball and see it wind up in the Luton net, giving Truro the three points.


In front of 1,396 fans at Treyew Road, Swindon dominated proceedings until against the run of play, Niall Thompson got on the end of an Aiden O’Brien through ball and gave Truro the lead in the 39th minute. After the goal, Swindon continued to control the match but Truro headed into the change rooms for half time with a 1-0 lead.

Early in the first half, Arturo Lupoli levelled the score when he broke clear of the Truro defence and putting the ball past a diving Ollie Chenoweth. Swindon continued to control the game and created numerous opportunities but in the end the game finished 1-1.



After a poor start, Truro is in a good position heading into November, with the side currently playing well above expectations. They are currently five points away from the play-off spots and six points clear of relegation, well above the prediction of last place at the start of the season.


After some terrific performances, Chez Isaac has been deemed the player of the month showing quality passing in the midfield as well as contributing with a goal and an assist.

The former Braintree player joined Truro at the beginning of the season on free transfer and has been a key figure for the side during the season so far.



November is expected to be a tough month for Truro, with all four league opponents currently in the top eight positions on the league table. They will be looking for revenge against Exeter, who Truro has yet to defeat in three previous outings.

In the FA Cup, Truro will face Havant & Waterlooville, who are currently 18th in the Skrill South. The sides have met twice previously in the Skrill South during the 2014/15 season, with both sides holding a victory over each other.
