Popmey It's great to be back and holy crap you are a mod now!!

Fzemdegs Thanks, that is why I wanted to do such a thing.

The Beginning

Well hello there my name is Evan Clausen and I am a 26 year old college graduate who has been unemployed for awhile now. As we all know the US Job market is pretty crappy right now and I am one of those casualties. Since graduating school last year I have been looking for something here in the Chicago area where I have lived all my life.

One day back in August of 2013 my best friend Pete and I were hanging out on a Saturday trying to figure out what the hell I was going to so. He had suggested becoming a soccer coach, well I though he was nuts since I only watch and the most competitive type I played was intramural soccer at college. I played goalie and did ok but wasn't great.

Pete showed me this article Student lands job running football team thanks to Football Manager on the computer, and told me to try since I am a boss at the game. My 4-2-3-1 in game makes all the ladies wet so I bet I could do it in real life. With that I would start applying to clubs, many in the US thought his was a joke but I have gotten interviews with clubs in Africa and Asia.

We will see where this goes.

The First Job

Oh my god!! It has been a long and hard journey into the beginnings of management. After awhile I was starting to get discouraged because so many clubs were rejecting me just because I have nothing to show.

I was about to give up and say screw this but then I got this email from some club.

American Samoa, are you serious this must be a joke I say to myself. I follow through and i end up meeting Albert Lui who is the clubs President. We had the interview over skype and things went well. FC SKBC are an amateur club who won the league last season. After a week of waiting I was getting impatient, I felt as if this was some sort of scam due to how awkward things were. It's January and we start in August. This will be a long wait.

Suddenly I get this email....

Wow I got my first job with some weird amateur club. Yes this is not my dream club of Chicago but I feel this will be a great starting point. The crappy thing was that I had to have bake sale and car wash to fund my flight. Seriously I had to pay for my own flight..... A week later I arrive and to not much if no fanfare to my avail.

The Future Starts Now!
wait, so the south korean baptist church football club is in american samoa?

The draw for the First Round of 2014 President's Cup will commence on September 27th. Cup play will begin on October 11th and runs until early December.

The 2013 FFAS Senior League Champions introduced a new manager back in January. They hired 27 year old Evan Clausen. The 27 year old American comes from Chicago, Illinois in the United States. Despite his inexperience he is looking forward to bringing home a second championship for and a nice start to his career.
This is a fantastic start, but of course I should expect that from you. Really interesting choice of team there. I can't guess whether that schedule is easy or hard, I'm clueless :D
Any reason why you didn't start in New Zealand?
