ENGLAND APPOINT RODGERS

The FA has appointed Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as the new England manager, following the resignation of Roy Hodgson.

After exiting the 2014 World Cup in the group stages, the first time since 1958, England has turned to Rodgers and has tied him down to a three year contract.

With the FA yet to make an official statement, Liverpool owner John W. Henry confirmed the deal on the Fenway Sports Group’s website.

”As of next week, Brendan Rodgers will officially take command of the England national team after Liverpool accepted his managerial move,” the statement read.

“We are saddened to see him go but recognise and respect his will to take on such a prestigious job. England is a country of whom Brendan owes a lot to and we hope and trust that he can repay it with the success that it deserves.”

Rodgers’ departure intensifies the rumours of Suarez’s supposed move to Barcelona, with the Uruguayan reportedly desperate for a move away from England following his four month ban.

SUAREZ IN BARCA TALKS

Liverpool has allowed Luis Suarez to hold talks with Barcelona ahead of a summer move to Spain, following his four month ban.

The Reds’ owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are believed to be ready to let their star man go, with Barcelona in the driving seat to sign the Uruguayan captain.

With a catalogue of controversies surrounding Suarez, it’s believed FSG and Liverpool are no longer in a position to back the Spain bound 27-year-old.

Suarez’s transfer to Barcelona seems imminent, despite the two clubs’ failure to agree a transfer fee for Suarez.

The Liverpool number seven could cost up to £80 million, excluding the possibility of a Barcelona player coming the other way.

Barcelona board members are thought to be very keen to add Suarez and have no worries regarding his conduct, citing the handling of Diego Maradona and Hristo Stoichkov in the past.

SUAREZ COMPLETES BARCA MOVE

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has agreed to join Barcelona for a fee of £77 million, following his bite on Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini.

Suarez signs a four year deal with Barcelona, but will only join the team on October 26th 2014 due to his four month ban.

Due to the Uruguayan’s attack on Chiellini, Liverpool were keen to offload Suarez, with reports suggesting the £77 million was a cut-price deal rather than the Reds’ true valuation of the player.

Suarez stated that it would be a dream to represent Barcelona, but reserved some comments for his critics.

”I’m delighted to join a club like Barcelona, one of which has many quality players and is so well respected across the world.

“I’m also sad to depart Liverpool in this manner. I loved my time with the club and wish that my time with them hadn’t come to this abrupt end.

“I cannot deny, however, that I am very happy to be leaving England, as I constantly felt targeted by the British media. Their treatment of me was very unfair at times and I’m glad to see the back of them.”
Thats a hell of a lot of money for Luis! great start mate!

LIVERPOOL TURN TO LAUDRUP

Liverpool has appointed former Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup as the club’s new manager, following Brendan Rodgers’ move to the England national team.

Laudrup signs a one year deal with Liverpool and will once again succeed Rodgers, as he did so in the summer of 2012 at Swansea.

The Danish manager was sacked halfway through the campaign by the Swans last season, but he’s keen to put his failures behind him and prove he has all the capabilities of managing in the Barclays Premier League.

”I enjoyed my time with Swansea, but I know I left much unanswered with regards to my managerial attributes since my departure.

“I believe I can rectify that here and I’m very much looking forward to the challenge of managing a club such as Liverpool.

“Brendan Rodgers did an exceptional job last season, so it’s my task to continue where he left off and aim for the title that we all want.”

Laudrup arrives at a time Liverpool’s star man Luis Suarez has left the club for Barcelona, and although the Dane wishes he still had the forward to work with, he insists the £77 million fee will be reinvested.

“I would have loved to have worked with Suarez but, as we all know, his situation was complex. However, I made plans with the club to pour his fee back into the squad before I was appointed, so I hope to have some more news for you guys fairly soon.”

Liverpool, who have already added Emre Can and Rickie Lambert to their squad this summer, could soon complete the signing of Adam Lallana from Southampton.

The Merseyside club are also thought to be keen on World Cup stars Marcos Rojo, Xherdan Shaqiri and 19-year-old Divock Origi.
Good luck, I've always loved Michael Laudrup and Liverpool :)

WISDOM UNHAPPY AT CELTIC SNUB

Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom is reportedly unhappy at the Reds’ rejection of a loan bid from Celtic.

Wisdom is thought to be on Liverpool’s exit list, but new manager Michael Laudrup was quick to rebuff an approach from Celtic.

The defender fancies the move to Celtic Park on loan and is likely to hold talks with Liverpool ahead of a temporary switch.

Liverpool are looking to offload Wisdom and were reportedly hoping to receive a permanent deal from Celtic.

The Scottish Premiership champions has competition from Sky Bet Championship clubs Wigan Athletic and Leeds United, with the former requesting Wisdom on loan for the remainder of the season with a view to a permanent deal.

LIVERPOOL SIGN LALLANA

Liverpool has completed the signing of Southampton midfielder and England international Adam Lallana for £25 million.

The Englishman completed his medical yesterday afternoon and will sign a five year contract on £70,000 a week.

Lallana becomes Liverpool’s third signing of the season - Michael Laudrup’s first as manager of the club - and will join his former teammate Rickie Lambert this season.

The 26-year-old played a total of 37 Barclays Premier League games last season for the Saints, scoring nine league goals and assisting a further six.

The St. Albans born playmaker will wear the number 20 shirt that he used in his time at the St. Mary’s stadium.
Lallana should add to an already good team! Well done on getting that money for Suarez, too.
A very good signing mate! a man who can repalce Suarez!
Great signings so far! Healthy profit made from Suarez, should be good for the club :D
