Great signing, love the insight into the daily training sessions! Time to gear up for another title!
Pre-Season results
Anderlecht celebrate one of five goals against Noordwijk
Pre-season has finished for another season and we recorded 3 wins from 6 matches, losing the other three.
things did get off to a great start though as we crushed Noordwijk 5-1 despite giving some of our fringe players a run, 20 year old David Henan who spent last season on loan at Antwerp managed to score one while playing his part in 2 more. So a great start to pre-season with confidence starting to flow
next up was RKC, we fielded a squad with an average age of just 20, only 4 of the starters had made an appearance for the first team last season so this would be a big step up for all our youngesters and a chance to prove there worth but we were no match for the much older RKC side who really made us pay going on to win the match 4-0

Semi professional side DOVO we our next opponents as we welcomed back club captain Cheickhou Kouyate to the side after his holiday and it only took him 7 minutes to put us in the lead, youth products Dupont and Sarkic scored a goal each to give us the 3-1 win
Atletico were welcomed to Constant Vanden Stock in our first high profile match of the programme and we took them to the wire losing 2-1, former Atleti striker David Villa managed to get on the scoresheet but it wasnt enough
we then travelled to Beroe with a mixture of youth and experience in the squad and we came away with a 4-2 win, Nabil Jaadi and Sarkic were the standouts in this match with there willingness to run at the defence be a particular highlight. Sarkic also managed to get his second goal of pre season so far
to wrap up our pre-season programme we played English giants Manchester City and though we fielded are very strong squad we were no match, Aguero and David Silva proved a constant thorn to our defence and we werent able to stop them playing, City did win the match 3-0.
Quite a disappointing pre-season really as i expected a much better result against RKC who really shouldnt have beat us and by that ridiculous margin.
though it was only pre-season ill be expecting much better performances in the first month of the season

Portugese hardman William Carvalho makes the move to Anderlecht
Anderlecht have completed the signing of Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.
The Portugese international has joined the Jupiler League winners from Sporting Lisbon for a fee thought to be in the region of $5.25m.
He has agreed a four-year contract with Anderlecht and underwent his medical with the club this morning.
“This is a club which is used to winning just like Lisbon and I'm prepared mentally and physically to do so. It is a pleasure to be among so many good young players and I'm sure I'll learn a lot from everyone and also be able to teach the young kids a thing or two.”
“I've always had a soft spot for Anderlecht. ive taken a massive pay cut to come here, Fabio Cannavaro and Andrea Pirlo both came to meet me in Portugal before i signed which really gave me no choice but to join the club. I will never forget this day. I hope to work hard, to train well, and to experience a lot of joy here. I know I am under a lot of pressure, but I am happy to face it.”
