Some great updates and Good luck against Liverpool!
First Knockout Round first leg
Liverpool walked into this match high on confidence and looked to take a positive result back to Anfield. the English media had dubbed this match "David v Goliath"
First half kicked off as expected with Liverpool taking the ascendency having 6 shots in the first 10 minutes, it looked to be a very long night for Anderlecht as they spent most of the first half on the back foot and camped in there own half, credit to them though as most Liverpools shots were from distance and didnt really trouble Cillessen.
Luis Suarez did go close though on 39 minutes when he recieved a beautiful pass from Mateo Kovacic but couldnt take his chance as he flashed his shot just wide, Anderlecht did look to unsettle the Liverpool players though with some borderline tackles which left them with 3 yellow cards in the first half, this tactic seemed to work though with Liverpool players starting to look uncertain when going in for the ball, Anderlecht looked more than up for it

Anderlecht came out in the second half looking to play some football and take the game to Liverpool and Thorgen Hazard found himself in alot of space just outside the area, flashing a shot a Liverpools goal but it sailed well wide. there wasnt really much action in the second half apart from some wayward shots from both sides which didnt cause either goalkeeper much trouble. Anderlecht have held on for a morale boosting 0-0 that they will take to Anfield in a weeks time
we have managed a massive result against Liverpool and will look to attack in the second leg at Anfield after that great 0-0 draw. heres a recap of the other 15 matches that took place.
0-0 at home is a pretty strong result, but trying to get through at Anfield is certainly going to be difficult. Good luck!
0-0 is brilliant! Beating liverpool at Anfield will be tough, maybe a draw with the vital away goal?
Liverpool send Anderlecht crashing out of Europe
Anderlecht have bowed out of the Europa League after a 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.
Chancel Mbemba and Aleksandar Mitrovic looking dejected as Pazzini blows for fulltime
Liverpool have knocked Anderlecht out of the Europa league after there convincing 3-1 (3-1) victory at Anfield,
Anderlecht never looked in the match as Liverpool took the lead early through Ravel Morrison when he was found in space on the edge of the 18 yard box and fired a low hard shot into the bottom right corner leaving Jasper Cillessen with no chance, Liverpool continued to push for more and would have been 2 or 3 nil up inside half an hour but for some smart goalkeeping from Cillessen but the luck didnt last long and on 41 minutes Luis Suarez picked up the ball on the halfway line before running straight at Heylen and Denswil who tried there best to double team Suarez but he skipped through the middle of the two and with only the keeper to beat he cheekily lobbed the ball over Cillessen who was left wondering what just happened. Liverpool were up 2-0 and looking comfortable as they went into the sheds at halftime.

Fabio Cannavaro must have given Anderlecht the hair-dryer treatment at halftime because the team came out of the blocks and instantly tested Reina in the Liverpool goal but he was able to tip Dennis Praets effort over the bar, but from the resulting corner David Villa would pull one back for Anderlecht after some slopping defending Sakho who headed the ball straight to Villa who buried it into the top corner, GAME ON!!.
Sensing blood Anderlecht started to throw players forward looking for that second away goal that would surely send them through, David Villa nearly found that goal but for his close effort to be tipped around the post from Jose Reina.
Just as Anderlecht looked like scoring a quick release from Reina found Suarez all by himself in the Anderlecht half, as he beared down on goal he only had Cillessen to beat and Suarez would make no mistake, tucking the ball under the goalkeeper and into the net sending the Kop wild as they new there was no way back for Anderlecht.
the home side would hold on for the last 6 minutes to claim victory and book there place in the next round where they will Roma for a place in the Quarter Finals

Fabio Cannavaro and his Anderlecht side can now turn there attention back to the domestic side of things as they are in the closing stages of the regular season, and the title is looking anything but sewn up at this point in time.
Theres still plenty of work to do for the Belgian champions

February & March
February was a terrible month as we only collected 1 point from a possible 9, not exactly Champions material.
it all started with a 2-2 draw with Charleroi who are currently sitting comfortably mid table and to be fair we never looked like winning this match, things would get from bad to worse for us though as our next two matches ended up as defeats to Zulte Waregem and Genk respectively, we created next to nothing in the two games and really deserved what we got, that was nothing.
March began as February ended and that was with another loss but this time to KV Kortrijk with Neal Maupay scoring the goal but it counted for nothing as we were beaten yet again.
There was a change in formation for the matches against Oostende and Westerlo switching to a 3-1-3-1-2 and it proved a master stroke as we won both while scoring 5 goals and only conceding 2. Aleksander Mitrovic and Maupay definitely benefited from playing next to each other registering a brace apiece to finish the month

so that brings an end to the regular season in Belguim, and we now move onto the Championship playoff group but first lets have a look at how things finished.
Genk find themselves on top after the 30 matches with 60 points and are looking pretty good to take the title off Anderlecht who finished up 4th on 58 points. But as you know the points are reset at the start of the Championship group.
who will win the Jupiler League this season? will Genk finally knock Anderlecht off there perch or will Anderlecht retain there title yet again
Very poor month but still not out of the race, the loss to Liverpool must have had a dramatic impact on team morale.
