Well this is gonna be tough!!, we have been drawn the group of death in group A alongside European heavyweights Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Roma, we will be looking to finish third in the group to qualify for the Europa League but really just hoping to give the big boys a run for there money

Confidis Cup Draw

the 6th round of the Confidis Cup has drawn us with Roeselare from the second tier of Belgium football so ill definitely be looking for a positive result and move onto the next round, but we must be sure there is no complacency because big teams have fallen by the wayside after making the same mistakes. we see this competition as a good springboard for our young talent ot be given a chance of showing there potential and giving me something to think about in terms of future squad selections

September

September couldn't have stared any worse than it did with a loss at home to KV Kortjivk and things didn't really get any better with our league fixtures losing 2 of our 3 league matches during the month. our defence is really struggling to defend set pieces so far with 3 goals out of the 4 we conceded being from set pieces. we will need to improve
we currently sit 7th after a very poor month but luckily we haven't really dropped to far off the pace so far and are in striking distance if we have a solid run of wins, beating second place Genk could end up being a very vital win in terms of being the kickstart we need.

We went to Germany for Matchday 1 of the Champions League. we were not expcected to get anything from the game and were tipped to lose heavily, But for a masterclass in counter attacking football we made Europe sit up and realise we will not be the whipping boys the pundits were saying we would be. Matias Suarez put Dortmund to the sword with two very good goals. deserved or not, we now sit second in our group
After that tremendous win over Borussia Dortmund we now sit second behind Barcelona on goal difference. we play Barcelona in Matchday 2 at Constant Vanden Stock and a win or draw could put us in a very strong position to progress

Cofidis Cup

Today we progressed to the 7th round of the Cofidis Cup after a dominant win against 3nd tier side Roeselare, My boys never looked like losing and dictated play from the offset, Matias Suarez and Aleksander Mitrovic put us in a commanding position before an own goal from the Roeselare defender put the ball into his own net to round off the scoring and give us a 3-0 win
OH Leuven is our opponent in the 7th round of the Cofidis Cup, we were shocked last time we met in a match we lost so there will definitely no complacency issues leading up to the match. a win could land us Genk in the next round

Player of the Month

Matias Suarez has claimed the player of the month award for September after a superb 4 matches in which he racked up 3 goals and 2 assists. Suarez stunned Borussia Dortmund earlier in the month with two goals and that seemed to lift the players confidence because hes been nearly unstoppable ever since that clash. (pictured) Matias Suarez celebrates putting Anderlecht in front against Dortmund
You beat Dortmund?! Amazing result!

September
3 wins out of 4 this month, im pleased with the results we have got considering the hail and pouring rain weve had to play in which made us change our tactics around to suit the conditions. we might not have played the best football during the month but we have done well nonetheless

these 3 wins have seen us rocket up the table and into first place, though there is no rooma for complacency because its still very tight and a couple of losses could see us plummet back down the ladder, our main rivals for the title Genk currently sit 4th

We fell to two defeats in our Group A encounters with Barcelona and AS Roma, were werent expected to get anything from these matches and we played valiently despite going down
so at the halfway mark of the groupstage we sit third and with everything to play for. our next match is AS Roma at home so we will go on the attack and try get a victory
You're in a good form mate, if you defeat Roma in the next match you can qualify for Europa League!
What are the boards expectations for you in the Champions League?
Sad to see Roma doing so badly :(
But for you, I hope Anderlecht win against them ;)
Good luck!
@AAN thanks mate, ill be going attack mode to try and qualify for the Europa League

@Griffo the expectations for me were to make the group stage of the Champions League so
anything from here is a bonus

@ASR-PSV are u a Roma supporter hahah thanks mate

Anderlecht looking to strenghten

Anderlecht have reportedly named Memphis Depay and Jelle Vossen as there two main transfer targets when the transfer window re-opens in two months time, both players have been playing well for their respective clubs, Depay currently has 6 goals in 12 games and 4 assists for PSV, while Vossen has 7 goals in 10 league matches for Genk. Anderlecht will have to pay PSV around $8,000,000 for Depay, whilst Vossen will be able to move to main rivals with a bid of about $6,000,000
Depay would be a terrific signing, good luck!
Depay should be a great signing, hope you can tie him down!

Matchday 5

Matchday 4 of the Champions League bought AS Roma to Constant Vanden Stock, we wanted a draw at the least to really keep our chances of making the Europa League alive but Roma had other ideas dominating the match from start to finish. Francesco Totti scored what proved to be the winning goal midway through the first half, we could only muster four shots throughout the entire game and really deserved nothing from it.
in the other match Borussia Dortmund hosted Barcelona, it was a entertaining affair with both teams going for the win. in the end the match ended up 2-2 and both teams going home happy enough.

Matchday 5 sees Anderlecht vs Borussia Dortmund at home while Roma host Barcelona

So after 4 matches in the group stage we sit bottom with 3 points but with everything still to play for. A loss against Dortmund though will see us exit European football for another year and we arnt quite ready to leave just yet. Barcelona could also hand us a big favour by beating Roma in the other fixture
Unlucky against Roma, I'm sure once you have time to develop your squad you will be able to put together a decent run in the Champions League.
