October - November
we played 8 games between October and Novmeber and im very pleased with how the last two months have gone, we won 6 of 8, losing and drawing the other two. weve also managed to keep five clean sheets all of which have been in the last five matches and our attack is also looking quite strong.
our 2-0 win over traditional league rivals Standard Liege would have to be the biggest result of the month because it given us the confidence we need when facing the other big boys in the title race from now on.
so weve managed to rise to the top of the league after this positive period of matches and also started to pull away from the chasing pack. with matches against our closest rivasl comging up in the non to distant future we could really start to pull away with some positive results

Matchday 5

3-3, what a match, we went into this match knowing a loss would automatically rule us out of Europe all together for the year but a draw may well have been enough to keep us in the hunt for Europa League football in February. Borussia Dormtund dominated the match in terms of having shots but none really threatened. we took full advantage by racing to a 3-1 lead, we were looking comfortable and set for a the knockout rounds if we drew our next match but Dortmund came back into the match scoring two late goals, one which came with only 5 minutes remaining. leaving the match a 3-3 and everything to do against Barcelona in Matchday 6
that last gasp draw from Dortmund has left us reeling at the foot of the group and only a win against Barcelona will be enough to send us through to the Europa League, we also need Roma to do us a favour and beat Dortmund, there will be drama on Matchday 6 so atay tuned
Europa League is still a possibility, don't give up!
Really great start mate, well done. Anderlecht have really bright young talent, Mitrovic is a beast! I will be following.
@MCox93 thanks for following lad . yeah Praet, Tieleman, Mitrovic just to name a few. probably one of the best youth facilities going around

Player of the Month

Cheickhou Kouyate has won my player of the month award for October and November for his sterling performances in the Champions League and Jupiler League. he has been one of the main reasons we have managed to keep five consecutive clean sheets. his partnership with Deschacht has been vital. Anderlecht are currently in talks with Cheickhou over a new contract believed to be resolved in the coming weeks.
this is big news for Anderlecht because big teams across Europe are said to be monitoring the situation
The next Yaya Toure? ... He definitely needs a nickname though!
December

December started off very well with two wins and we were confident this could be a clean sweep of wins for the month considering the opponents we had, but i think Complacency took over within myself and my players and we only managed 2 points out of the next 3 matches leaving us to ponder. work needs to be done next month to avoid this happening again
Genk currently lead the Juplier League but only on goal difference, there is actually a three-way lead for the title so far but with a match in hand we could reclaim top spot once more

Disappointed is all i have to say about this, we dominated the match from start to finish but our finishing was poor once again
in the other matches there were no real suprises, both Brugge clubs recorded wins as they were expected to. ill be looking for a much better showing in the second leg
Standard look to be a contender as well, good luck!
Looking good so far
@Griffo yeah Standard Liege have been quietly going about there business, they were $7.50 to win the title at the start of the season

its definitely an exciting title race at the moment

Matchday 6

A win was needed to have any chance of progression to the Europa League but Barcelona had no intention of going easy on us when Gerard Pique scored in the first minute it was a sign of what was to come as Barcelona went onto score 2 more in the first half and pretty much end our dream of further European participation. we did manage to keep them out in the second half but the damage was already done and we eventually lost 3-0. Barcelona were just too good

we finished the Groupstage bottom of the group but went away with many positives. we remained unbeaten against Borussia Dortmund with a win and draw. Anderlecht exit with there heads held high
That was always going to be a tough match mate so shame with the draw but right in the title fight still good luck.

Anderlecht bow out on penalties

We went into this match knowing we had to score 3 goals at the very least to progress but it couldnt have got off to a worse start for us as Mechelen were awarded a penalty early on which was tucked away, finally we started to find some rythem and scored 3 unanswered goals before the break. A scoreless second half ensured the match went to extra where no goals were scored. with both teams putting away there first 5 spot kicks it went to sudden death, then up stepped N'Sakala for Anderlecht and he smash the ball into the crossbar leaving the match to be decided by the Mechelen captain who tucked the ball away to sent to home fans into raptures knowing theyve made its first cup semi final in a decade
not the best results in the last matches..but you're still very close to the top of the league!
