It's been a tremendous start for Liverpool in this seasons Premier League. They have started the season with a bang and have really expressed their desire to win. Whilst one or two of the three games weren't as convincing as you'd like, they still managed to drag out three wins in three, even at times when it looked like it wouldn't be there day. Something this team haven't done for years.

Their first game of the season came against Swansea, away from home. An interesting team whenever it came to Liverpool. One game they'd completely tear the Swans apart and the next they wouldn't be able to handle them, but they managed to get their own way this time. Adam Lallana, the leading scorer in pre-season gave Liverpool the first half lead upon 39 minutes and it took until the 73rd for them to get the cushion the red fans had been eagerly anticipating after real dominance all game, Coutinho the scorer. It didn't take long though for Swansea to reduce the deficit, only a minute later they struck back with a goal to get themselves back in it, but the second goal just wouldn't come for them.

The second game of the season came to Stoke at home. Another team that's always been a bit of a bogey side for Liverpool, and one they always seem to be playing near the start of the season. Regardless of this, the players put records and stats to one side here, and showed the Potters who's boss. Daniel Sturridge scored Liverpool's first goal of the game in the 25th, and Liverpool seemed to be at their very best.

Stoke did at one point manage to grasp a firm hold on the game though, and came close to equalizing a few times, but Liverpool responded well, and with the fans in full voice Glenn Johnson put the ball in the back of the net from the spot, after a penalty kick was given for a foul on the right back.

The last game would be expected to be the easiest of the three Liverpool took part in this month, but it was far from it. Selhurst brought a different challenge for Liverpool, and despite scoring through Sturridge in the 19th minute, it was a game that the lads just couldn't find their mojo in. Whilst they got their fair share of chances, Crystal Palace to had their opportunities to strike a blow to Liverpool's fine start, but luckily for the reds, Reina was in top form, and the Palace strikers couldn't hit a barn door.

Raheem Sterling scored a late second for Liverpool, which helped to see out the win. That would make it three in three for the reds and they were looking sharp. With Aston Villa, Spurs, Southampton (COC) and Manchester United all to come next month along with a Champions League group game which is yet to be drawn, Liverpool will have to be at their very best to get as many points from this tough challenge that lies ahead, can Brendan Rodgers' team find a way to break down their challengers?

Liverpool and the Champions League, go together like Sturridge and Suarez. Chelsea, and buses. Arsenal, and fourth place. So, when Liverpool finally broke back into the top four last year finishing second to only Manchester City, it struck delight and excitement right into the hearts of every Liverpool fan there is.

Finally, after an impressive month for the reds, the Champions League group stages have finally been drawn and you could say the draw has been kind to Liverpool after they were grouped third seed.

They have been drawn into group G, and whilst there isn't any stand out team here, they are all capable of making it through. The group will be as follows.
1st. Liverpool
2nd. Atletico
3rd. Roma
4th. Bayer Leverkusen

The biggest test here will be Atletico, who just last season won La Liga, and made it all the way to the Champions League final. Atletico, are a team that can be beaten, and if there is one team in this group that will beat them, it's Liverpool.

Leverkusen, will prove a tough test for the reds, but once again they're another beatable side. Emre Can, if played will also get to meet up with his new team mates, in both clashes.

Roma, probably considered the worst of the four teams in this group. Don't get me wrong, they're still a very good side, having done ever so well in the league last season. They were a bit like Liverpool, being top for ages and narrowly missing at the final few hurdles.

When it looked like they had only just finished, they rocked up to the party with even more signings this summer. Liverpool, in the last hours of deadline day have made their last two signings of the transfer window.

Nicola Murru is the first to join the team from Italian outfit Cagliari. The left back has joined for a reported amount of £4.4M and we'll be back up to current first team left back Jose Enrique who joined the reds from Newcastle, one year ago.

Murru isn't the most experienced player, having only ever made 18 appearances at the highest level, all for Cagliari. Brendan Rodgers has told us he is looking to the older players though to help the 18 year old out, and he'll be expecting to see huge signs of improvement when Nicola comes to make his first few appearances for Liverpool.

Rodgers: "I think Nicola we'll be a fine player for us. he has all the right skills. He is technical, confident, strong. He has bags of potential. Had he stayed at Cagliari I am sure he probably might have started each and every game almost and keeping him there on loan like Ryan Gauld with Dundee was an option, but we needed the back up and I think he'll be a perfect fit whenever Jose is unavailable.

"He's not played many times, so my judgment can't be as accurate but I am prepared to take the risk with Nicola, he's a fine player. He's one for the future. Of course we already have Can and Robinson who can play at left back, but Nicola can also play right back. So I have a special plan for each of the three players."

Liverpool's second signing comes from A.C. Milan. An attacking midfielder called Riccardo Saponara has joined the team for £7M and will be back up to Coutinho. It's also thought that he was brought in to help rotate Lallana on the right wing, as Liverpool haven't enough wingers to rotate as often as they'd like.

Rodgers was reportedly looking into the signing of Dorin Rotariu. A right winger from Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest. It's thought that a deal for around the same amount as Saponara's was agreed and a contract was also agreed by the player, but even upon a appeal, a work permit could not be granted. So Liverpool will either have to lose interest in the player, or wait and see if he qualifies for a permit in the future.

A fine start for Liverpool in their first month back in the Premier League. But a tougher challenge lies ahead. Could they replicate there form against foes like Roma, Tottenham, and Manchester United?

The month started in fine fashion as Liverpool steam rolled ahead, coasting past Aston Villa on there way to another three points. Two goals from fan favorite Daniel Sturridge ensured an emphatic three points for Liverpool and kept them on a 100& record. 12 points for the season so far.

Now, finally. The day Liverpool fans all over had been waiting for. The return to the Champions League. Liverpool would line up with the likes of Subotic, Gerrard, Coutinho and Sturridge. Reina who would also be in the starting line up, would you believe was the last goalkeeper to play in the Champions League for liverpool. 5 years ago that was.

The first game would be at Anfield, and boy were the fans loud. The players took advantage and quickly got into there stride, and Subotic headed in his first goal for Liverpool, upon 11 minutes. Two minutes later, Coutinho would score the second of the game. Liverpool were in dreamland! Roma's job was not made easy by the fact that Totti and Pjanic had to go off with injuries.

Liverpool scored three more times before the break. Coutinho 35' Daniel Sturridge 45' and Steven Gerrard marked his return to the big stage by bending a beautiful free kick into the top corner just before the first half ended.

The game stayed all Liverpool, but the finishing grew worse, and the reds were only able to scrape one more goal through Lallana in the 49th minute. 6-0. What a return. Absolutely remarkable!!

Tottenham challenged next, but no way through for the Spurs. Coutinho scored yet another goal early in the 19th minute, and on 60 minutes he was there to be put through on goal. He rounded the keeper and scored his second. Full time was gradually closing in on the game, but that didn't stop Liverpool scoring again, this time Assou Ekotto got an own goal. 90 minutes in, Adebayor got his team a consolation.

Liverpool played a relatively weakened side against Southampton, however, that didn't seem to have much of an effect. Sturridge scored against a fully fledged Southampton side late on, but as players like Suso and Can started to grow tired they just couldn't keep up with the pace from Chambers and co.

Brendan Rodgers wouldn't budge. He wanted to be ready for United. And so, he made no move to make a change. Southampton scored a late goal, and went on to win late on in extra time knocking Liverpool out of the Capital One Cup.

Often said to be the biggest game of the year this one. And to the Liverpool fans, it certainly would be. Manchester united vs Liverpool. As was expected, Liverpool took the lead at Anfield, and to the Liverpool fans' delight, it was Suarez who smashed in the volley on two minutes in his first game back for Liverpool, after that lengthy ban. The game was really even in the second half, either side had their chances. But it was united who took them. van Persie scored in the 60th minute, and would you believe it? Yet another last gasp winner from Juan Mata left the blood boiling for Liverpool.

But what did the table look like? Well, Liverpool fans will be delighted that despite the loss to United, they do remain top by a point, but they'll know their team will have to keep working hard to stay there. However, they would not forget this, and they will be wanting revenge next time. To do this, Liverpool would need to step up, and beat them in their own back yard.
