Jets Sack Struggling Cole

http://s40.photobucket.com/user/fzemdegs/media/Untitled_zps836abfff.png.html

Gary Cole has lasted just 5 months as manager of the Newcastle Jets

Australian club Newcastle United Jets FC have today announced the termination of manager Gary Cole's contract, saying that bad resuls have led to the New South Welshmen's dismissal. The sacking comes just 5 months after the resignation of Sean-Paul Lodovico and the Jets find themselves looking for a new manager once more.

The Jets, who last season were Grand Final runners-up, find themselves in 8th position after a run of bad form including an 8 game winless streak. Although they began the season positively, new manager Gary Cole has not been able to recover from Lodovico's departure after many players threatened to leave with him. Players like Andrew Hoole, Emile Heskey and Josh Brillante simply haven't performed to the level required and subsequently the Jets have slipped down the table into 8th.

Cole's replacement is yet to be seen, with the current favourite being Gary Van Egmond, who is looking to take over his old spot. Other names linked with the job include Josep Gombeau, Tony Popovic and Frank Farina. Jets fans, however, are calling for the return of Sean-Paul Lodovico to the post. Lodovico is currently battling in the lower end of the Ekstraklasa with Pogon Szczecin and many Jets fans believe Lodovico should return to Newcastle and guide the club through a tough patch before he returns to Europe. The young Pole/Aussie has not made any moves to moving back to Australia however and looks set to stay in his current role.
GO BACK TO THE JETS!!
Stay in Poland!!

Youth Intake Day

Ten of Pogon's brightest new prospects

Today at Pogon Szczecin we welcomed 17 new recruits, the future of the club. These 17 will hopefully one day don the blue and maroon and play for the Pogon first team, but first they must undergo years of training and preparation. Let's have a look at the best prospects.

Robert Filipowicz--DM/MC

The pick of the bunch, Filipowicz is a determined, brave defensive midfielder who is sure to improve over time with that wonderful determination stat. He has great work rate and stamina, so able to move around the midfield with ease, and his tackling is great for just 15. Very undeveloped as you'd imagine but looks to develop over time.

Daniel Maciejewski--ST/AML

Maciejewski is one of the rawest prospects I have ever seen. 4 star potential and good determination is all well and good, but his technicals are absolutely horrid. I can't really see him developing but my coaches seem to think so. We'll see.

Krzysztof Rybicki--MC

The central midfielder is another 4 star potential player, and has good determination which could see him develop a bit. I'm also really liking his great technique which should lift his all-round technical ability. A bit of a dark horse who I could see developing into a decent player.

Adam Kort--DR

The perennial disappointment in the patch. Kort is a right back with decent technicals and great heading, and he's also a great leader and is very brave. However, his determination is shoddy and that is the sealer- he just won't develop unless I get his determination up.

Notable Mentions

Dominik Zielinski--MC/DM
Potential-
Strengths- Pace, Agility, Passing
Weaknesses- Dribbling, Bravery, Strength

Piotr Lebedynski--MC/DM
Potential-
Strengths- Work Rate, Acceleration, Passing
Weaknesses- Bravery, Flair, Finishing

Radoslaw Adamczuk--ST
Potential-
Strengths- Heading, Balance, Determination
Weaknesses- Bravery, Flair, Finishing

Bartosz Kowal--GK
Potential-
Strengths- Jumping Reach, Leadership, Reflexes
Weaknesses- Flair, Acceleration, Aerial Ability

In the end, it was a decent update. Some good potential floating around the U18s now, but I don't think I'll be sticking around long enough to see them develop. However, it's good to see some new youngsters at the club!
I would say that's a great intake for you.. but when i'm getting this..

you know it's impossible ;)

(In all seriousness, decent prospects, hopefully Lodovico's coaching can bring them up to the heights of Robak! :P )
No real stand outs, maybe next time!
