Our Barclays Premier League campaign got underway against Crystal Palace with new boys De Jong, Cabella, Grenier and Janmaat all making the competitive debuts for the club and it couldn't have gotten off to a better start beating Palace 2-0 with Siem De Jong scoring either side of the break to open his account to for club and set up a comfortable win, Great way to start the season

Tottenham Hotspur were up next and we went behind early through Roberto Soldado after he caught Mike Williamson in possession and then made no mistake when applying the finish, but we would equalise just three minutes after the restart when Hatem Ben Arfa went on one of his trademark runs beating 3 defenders before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Hugo lloris, the match died down abit after the equaliser with neither side really wanting to lose.

Ben Arfa celebrates his equaliser against Spurs

we finished the month against Newly promoted Leicester City, Ben Arfa and Siem De Jong put us 2-0 inside 17 minutes, putting us in complete control. With a further 15 shots to follow during the match the score should and could have been a lot more convincing before Leicester City scored an 80th minute goal to put some doubt in the mind of Newcastle United fans, but our defence held firm to grab a valuable 2-1 win

So after 3 matches we currently sit atop the Barclays Premier League though some of the teams are yet to play there games due to several matches being rescheduled, but we are top nonetheless and will be looking to hang around the top for as long as possible

Well written, keep it up man. Bit strange how well West Brom are doing. :)
Great start, although the real test is to come. Go the Toons!
..
Solid start!
Ben Arfa in form! Gotta love that.
great start mate!

Newcastle United land Leicester in the Capital One Cup

Ipswich will travel to fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the third round of the Capital One Cup. Newly-promoted Burnley meanwhile have been handed an exciting home tie against Premier League contenders Chelsea.
Northampton, the only league two side remaining in the competition, have been drawn away to Hull City.
Last season's finalists WIgan, will make the short trip to take on Southampton, while Championship side Birmigham heads to Craven Cottage to face Fulham.
there is an all Premier League affair as Sunderland host Everton while Tottenham travel to Aston Villa and West Ham and Reading will battle it out for a place in the next round.

Elsewhere, the two matches everyone are looking forward to where Arsenal host Manchester United while manchester City head to Anfield to take on Liverpool

Some exciting cups games going on there! Best of luck vs the Foxes.
City vs. Liverpool... that early...
Griffo - yeah what a shame City will exit that early ;)

squirmy - thanks mate im taking this cup pretty serious so ill be fielding a strong side, definitely be hoping for a positive result

Maupay and Riviere to trade places as Newcastle target young French striker

Newcastle United has reportedly enquired about the availability of OGC Nice striker Neal Maupay

Neal Maupay is one of football's brightest attacking talents right now, and it is claimed Newcastle United are keen on the France youth international. The Express report the club could move for the striker, and use fellow striker as a makeweight in the deal. It remains to be seen who will be Newcastle's number #1 striker this season following the arrival of Siem De Jong, sparking speculation about Rivieire's future.
Maupay, meanwhile, is alleged to be unhappy with his current contract at OGC Nice and hence could have his head turned by what are presumably numerous suitors in such a prodigious talent. As for Riviere back to France? Well, reports claim that the player is not keen on a return back to France so soon.
DOOOOO ITTTTTTTT!
Maupay it's an amazing player! It would be a great signing!
Nice save. Ben Arfa seems to be doing good for you :) Good signing in Grenier. Although never used him. As for Maupay I've heard great stuff about him but never seem to find him in my saves. But great story. should be good to see how many seasons it takes you to win the league
