Sydney will play host to Premier League outfit Newcastle United

Newcastle United have confirmed the Club will play eight pre-season matches ahead of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League campaign.

As well as travelling to an already-confirmed tour of Australia and another tour in Germany, the Magpies will only have one match in England, a home game against Belgian giants Anderlecht

Newcastle United managing director, Lee Charnley, said: "We are very pleased to confirm all of our pre-season away matches and to give supporters in this country and overseas as much time as possible to make their own plans.

"As well as providing the players with strong tests at important stages in preparation for next season, we have also balanced our schedule with excellent commercial opportunities as we look to continue showcasing Newcastle United as part of the Barclays Premier League's global success.

"We hope to be able to announce details of our home fixture to take place on August 31st and also an open day for fans of all ages at St. James' Park shortly."
Magpies manager David Ginola added: "Pre-season is a crucial time for any football club so I'm very pleased with the mix of opposition and the training programme the squad will face.

Full Pre-Season schedule

this season weve decided to play 10 Pre-season matches compared to 8 last season as we feel it will help us get that little bit more sharpness into our play before the season kicks off mid August. Anderlecht will definitely be the toughest match of the lot as they possess very good young players and play an attractive brand of football,
our trip to Australia is more for commercial gain and will look to visit every year as we enter pre-season

looking forward to your trip Down Under!
Ahaha Good luck in them Friendlies
See you got some Australian teams
Melbourne City to take you to towwwnnn!!! HA!

Your December run in looks absolutely brutal... Chelsea, Spurs, United, Sunderland (lol), and then Everton :/

You seem to have a well balanced squad with a few shining lights. Hatem Ben Arfa is one of my favorite players, although, I have a thing for OM, so that's probably it.

A favorite thing of several writers in Football Manager is their overuse of graphics. Graphics should be used as chapter dividers, nothing more. A strong banner, which you have, is often all you need to divert the reader from a block of text, whereas, a large picture of real life players, placed right beneath the banners, do nothing for the reader. If you wish to use a picture, try to use it as a paragraph divider, as Neal sometimes does in his stories. Otherwise, you're just making a large picture block, which, while visually stimulating, distracts from the writing, which should really be the star.

Also, you seem to suffer from overinforming the reader, as seen with your Pre Season and your "Entire season" fixture windows. In three updates, I'm going to forget that you play City, United, and Sunderland in December. But, if you include it as a story update IN December, when you're rocking off your game against City to the game against United, it means far more to me then at the beginning of the season. Your pre-season tidbit was interesting. I, personally, never thought that playing in Oz would be a good idea, but I'm tempted with your tour down under, but it would be better presented otherwise.

Make sure to use your youth academy. Have your scouts in U19 leagues. You'll be able to find the players you need for your first team on your own, but having a 16 year old that you sign from the Czech Republic come in for 250K, instead of having to spend 20M on a 22 year old Czech striker at PSG makes a world of difference in the late stages.

Especially when you sell the Czech forward to PSG for 20M and use that Englishman you had coming through anyway.

Best of luck in the CL. Make sure you play to your strengths, i.e. defensive as fuck against stronger teams, attacking beyond belief against the weaker ones. 1 point at Camp Nou is far better than 0 points at St. James Park, no matter how much you like your tactic.

That's it. Have fun. Curate your game to the reader.

Also, your signature points to your Anderlecht story, not your Newcastle story.
December does look brutal... I hope you go well this season and I look forward to seeing how you perform in the Champions League.

Newcastle United 2014/15 kits Unveiled

Newcastle United today unveiled the Club's Nike home, away and third kits for the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season, providing supporters with the opportunity to pre-order the shirts from Thursday, 7th August at 9am. The shirt will go on general release on Thursday, 14th August.

Supporters will get chance to see the players wearing the new shirt for the very first time at the Club's open day at St. James' Park on Tuesday, 12th August (gates open at 9am), before it is worn for the first time in the Barclays Premier League when Huddersfield visit the home of the Magpies on Sunday, 17th August.

The new design for the famous black and white stripes features tipping on the sleeves, 'NUFC' lettering on the upper-back neck and dryCELL technology to help every player and fan keep their cool through game time, added time and beyond.

Nike dryCELL technology enhances body performance by dragging moisture away from the body, improving air-flow and keeping the body at the ultimate performance temperature. Meanwhile, the four-way stretch underarm panels, cuffs and back mesh offer the same freedom of movement as the match kit.

Nike will be supplying the Club with official technical and replica kit and training wear for the first time for the 2014/15 campaign, the players' shirt will feature Power Active technology, which offers players muscle support and a moisture management system to stay cool and dry, inspiring a player to perform better for longer.

Lee Charnley, managing director at Newcastle United, said: "The release of our famous home shirt is always highly-anticipated amongst players and supporters alike so we are very pleased to share the new design with them. Nike have worked tremendously hard to deliver an outstanding kit and we look forward to the team wearing it with pride over the coming season."
Some interesting new kits there!

Malanda made 34 appearances for Wolfsburg last season as they finished in a very good 6th place.

Ginola added: "He is the perfect example of a modern defensive midfielder.
"He is someone who is good defensively but offers a real threat going forward as well."

Malanda made 63 appearances for Wolfsburg over the past two seasons.

"This is the perfect club for me and I am looking forward to being with the team and getting started here."
Increasing the squad size to deal with all the fixtures coming up!
nice signing Toon! Always look to improve the squad

Newcastle United handed nightmare draw

Newcastle United have been handed a daunting task to qualify for the Champions League knockout phase after the draw placed them in Group C with last season's runners up, Bayern Munich, Rafael Benítez's Napoli and Paris Saint Germain.
While Chelsea and Manchester United will all be confident of qualifying from their respective groups, Lucien Favre's Gladbach will be confident they can progress in a group where they must face Porto, Dynamo Kiev and minnows Levski

For Manchester United, there is real hope that Louis Van Gaal, can guide them to the knockout phase after the club's failure to do so in the past seasons. The Dutchmans team will face Borussia Dortmund, but also have trips to Ajax and Dinamo Moscow, the Russian champions who have claimed the league title twice in the past three years. ."

Chelsea appear to have the easiest route through of the English clubs. Jose Mourinho, who has already won this competition, has to negotiate Group B which consists of Sporting Lisbon, Olympiakos and Besiktas. José Mourinho will be confident he can lead Chelsea through Group B with ease
