Ser Jaime Lannister Steps Away from Man Utd After Catastrophic Final Day

Despite a heroic comeback from 17th place, an absolutely horrendous 90th minute winning goal from the ten men of midtable side Leicester sunk Manchester United to 5th place and into the Europa League. Following this calamity, Ser Lannister has stepped down as chairman of the football club.

Shocking reports are now coming out of Old Trafford that chairman Ser Jaime Lannister, who only bought the club at the beginning of the season, has placed the club in the hands of the Board of Directors to sell to whomever they wish. The Westerosi knight actually drew his Valyrian steel blade and cut down two random board members near him when Leicester managed to score their 90th minute winner to knock Manchester United to 5th place.

Following a catastrophic season before this with David Moyes leading the Red Devils to an atrocious 7th place finish. This was supposed to be the year for change under Dutch tactical genius Louis Van Gaal. Things didn't go to plan, exactly, and Van Gaal had United sitting in 17th place quite a few matches into the season.

Then came the appointment of Harry Redknapp. The ex-Tottenham manager led Manchester Utd up the table with astonishing pace, winning big match after big match including a shock 2-1 turnaround against Premier League champions and archrivals Manchester City. On the final day, all that the Old Trafford faithful wanted to see was at least a draw to seal a 4th place finish.

Jackson Martinez had other ideas, however, and as previously stated, United finished 5th. Following this, Lannister has stepped aside. He was quoted as saying, "I really can't be f*cked with this bullsh*t anymore...every time I try something, we get so close but f*ck it up right at the end. Either way, my sister Cersei is fighting a civil war back in Westeros, so I better get back on that (and mayhaps get back on her)."
