Champions League Draw

After four qualifying rounds for some teams, the UEFA Champions League draw was made in Zurich today and it will be the last Champions League as we know it, with four English sides in the draw. This will all be change next season with Belgium, Ukraine and Turkey to get four representatives next season. So who made this season's Champions League that would be deemed a surprise?

TWO Danish sides have made the group stages. FC Kobenhavn are the usual side that make it year in, year out but FC Nordsjealland have also made it after defeating Lyon and A.C Milan to make the group stages.

Bulgarian side Ludogarets will also be in the Champions League for the first time in there history after knocking out BATE, Molde and Partizan to grab there place and they will not be in it to just make up the numbers with players like David Silva, Mats Hummels, Gael Clichy and Sergio Aguero they will be a force to be recogned with.



It was a interesting group draw with group B going to be the most boring group of the tournament but PSV did manage to pick up a few good players in Romelu Lukaku but it is Group's D, E and F that are the most interesting.

Group D could be Anderlecht's group with three sides who have had everything took away from them in Real Madrid, Zenit and Leverkusen. Legia should also get through with a group of Bayern, CSKA Moscow and Man City. these two groups should be wide open for the last qualification spot though.

Ludogarets, the early favourites to win the Champions League will have to get past Arsenal, Dortmund and OM if they are to live up to the expectations. Celtic and Basel are expected to top Group C in a group with Porto and Paris Saint-Germain and FC Copenhaven and Galataseray should win Group A easily too.

In the last two groups FK Austria Wien should top there group with Barcelona, Juventus and Ajax in and the toughest group is Group H with FC Norsjaelland, Olympiakos and Shakhtar in, Benfica are the unlucky side to be drawn against them three sides.

Dennis Praet Leaves For Austrian Side

Praet is a big money mover to Austrian side SC Wienar Neustadt

SC Wienar Neustadt have splashed the cash on Anderlecht's Dennis Praet, landing the Belgian central midfielder for a fee beleived to be £15,000,000. The former Anderlecht player moved to Wiener Neustadt after four season's with the Belgian side where he played just 37 times after moving from Genk for free in 2009/2010.

Praet was part of the Anderlecht side who were crowned Belgian Pro Champions in 2013. The 19 year old can not wait to play in Austria because of his admiration for Lionel Messi, the captain for Wiener Naustadt. I can not wait to play alongside such talent like Lionel (Messi), Doria and Mesut (Ozil) who are amazing players and although I had a lot of great players at Anderlecht, this was too much of a big thing for me to turn down a chance to play alongside Messi himself

Preat's departure reportedly recieved a mixed reception amongst supporters, but there was a general agreement that the club did exceptionally well to recieve as much as they did for him, according to an interview with a spokesperson for the official supporters group.


Fierro signs for Belarussian side Naftan for £20.5m

In other transfer news, Carlos Fierro has moved from Chivas to Naftan in Belarus for a reported £20,500,000. The striker, deemed a big, big talent will look to fire the Belarussians into Europe. Joining him in Belarus is Equilem Mengala, who signed for BATE from Porto and Jan Vertongen joins Dani Osvaldo at Celtic after signing on free transfers.

Anderlecht had a wonderful first month of a new look footballing world. They only let in one goal all month in the televised match against Oostende and manager Allessandro Del Piero really did alternate and left Neymar out of the squad for two matches in a row in the 2-0 win over Zulte Waregem and the 4-0 win over OH Leuven.

The first match, against Lokeren could have been a tough one so Del Piero decided that Neymar and Giroud would play upfront with Lampard and Hughes in the midfield spot. On the 22nd minute Hughes was fouled in the box resulting in a penalty, which Lampard put away for his first goal for the club. The second half saw Gohi Bi bought on to good effect and he set up Griezmann to score a thunderous headed goal into the roof of the net after a pinpoint cross. Gohi Bi was awesome in the second half and when Lampard was subbed on the 73rd minute he got a standing ovation as his legs gave way.

Then followed the Neymar show in the second match away to Cercle Brugge, who had 2 goals disallowed and Neymar was the only good player for Anderlecht. He forced the own goal and then finished off a shocking display for Anderlecht but still came away with a 2-0 win thanks to a 25 yard run and a chip over the keeper on the 90th minute.



The shock though was that he was then dropped for the Zulte Weregem match and Mattias Suarez, who had come on in the last two matches as a sub started. Ronaldo gave the host the lead on the 13th minute with a trademark header from a Griezmann corner and then from another corner just two minutes later Suarez, who was hanging outside the box volleyed home. Zulte improved in the second half but Delac, making his debut had a glorious match to keep it to 2-0 in a game that was bossed by Ronaldo.


Gohi Bi has excelled for Anderlecht this month

Ronaldo was then partnered by Kagawa for the match against Leuven and Gohi Bi played himself into a starting spot. There was nothing good in the first half and Del Piero had apparently gave the side a bollocking at half time and it worked a treat as Kagawa ran onto the ball by Eriksen, partnering Hughes in midfield to side-foot past the Leuven keep and that opened the floodgates. Leuven had defended honourably in the first half but had just parked the bus and in the 66th minute Ronaldo, doing step overs and dummies danced his way into the box and hammered home into the top right corner.

Two minutes later and it was 3-0 with the impressive Gohi Bi latching onto a Ibrahimovic through ball to run round the keeper and slide the ball into an empty net. Ronaldo then fired in a free kick to make it 4-0 on the 83rd minute and it was 4 out of 4 for Anderlecht.

The last match of the month was Oostende which resulted in a 3-1 victory where Modric, Luiz and Giroud had already won the game for Paars-Wit before Luciano Vietto got a consolation goal meaning that Anderlecht had gone 5 wins in 5 games which sees them top the table in what is a tight start to the Pro League.

Welcome Alessandro, thankyou for taking the time to speak with me. Just gonna get straight into it, my main query is about the transfers of Najar, Paet and the like. What's your opinion on these sales which have caused much controversy?

Thanks for having me and these transfers have caused too much of a stir in the end i think. I sold Paet because for £15m you can not get more for an average player in my view. I know he was belgian, just like Najar but football is a bisnuess and I had to do what was right for the club because of bringing in so many great players I obviously had to get rid of some others and these were the players I chose.

But this leaves you with just 6 home grown players, the bare minimum. Surely despite all these great players being brought in you had space for some more local talent which would give you better flexibility then not having them?

It would give me better flexibility but at the end of the day the fans can moan all they want, I have 6 Belgians and six good belgian players in Vanden Borre, Gahi Bi and Kouyate but I had to do what I had to do and if the fans don't like that then they have to deal with it because we are top of the table with 5 wins out of 5 so I think this is a storm in a teacup.

I really think you should be paying more attention to the fans, they want some form of Belgian influence in this team which is seemingly being transformed into a foreign power under your reign. Are you prepared to stick by this policy despite the fan's dissent?

We have Belgian Influence! Courtois is also Belgian and I signed him but look at the bloody quality players we have now, Luiz, Santon, Ronaldo and Neymar and your saying to me that I need to listen to fans?!?!?!

Believe it or not mate, but you're a manager now and the fans are more influential than you think. At the end of the day, they're the ones bringing in the main revenue by showing up to your games so maybe you should listen to the fans. Just because you've exploited a major scandal doesn't mean you've achieved tenure or anything, you need to listen to what your fans say.

Well at the end of the season when WE win the Pro League the fans will be singing mine and the players names. You, no disrespect are making this out to be a lot more than it is and you know as well as me that it is only a few fans doing this and yes I made a error selling as many but now I would not change that and you should really do your research before accusing me of not listening, fans are very fickle and if we keep winning they will love the team.

You need to win big you realise. You are effectively becoming the new Barca, and their fans dont settle for anything less than a win. You may win the Pro League, but one slip up and you're under scrutiny.

I think you need to wind your neck in and fuck off.

There was shock as Del Piero really lost his cool with the radio presenter and stormed out, it will be interesting how the fans respond to this and if it really is just a few that are not happy with the legendary Italian.

Santon Out For Three Weeks

Santon is out for three weeks

Allessandro Del Piero is said to be fuming today after Davide Santon got injured in training with the Italian National squad when jumping for a ball, he went over the keeper and landed on his neck.

It is thought the right back will be out for three weeks, which will be five matches for Anderlecht. I hope the team can pick up points without me. I know we have amazing cover all over the pitch and I will be back playing as soon as possible.

It is thought that Anderlecht will try and claim compensation for this as they were told he would sit out that training session so things could get very messy for the Italian FA very soon.
