Days after finishing eleventh in their debut Premier League season, Prince William's Whitehawk side's rise through the English football divisions has been labelled as "the greatest accomplishment in football history" by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp. The former Liverpool captain believes that Whitehawk will become a leading force in English football, if Prince William remains in charge.

Jamie Redknapp: "Their (Whitehawk) progress over the last seven years has been nothing short of legendary. When news broke out that Prince William would take charge of a football team in the Vanarama Regional divisions, everybody, including myself, expected his reign to last a couple of months before moving back to his more native world of royalty. Nobody could have anticipated the success which he has brought to the club since signing as manager. We all expected him to quit shortly after taking charge.

But he has proven us all wrong! Whitehawk's last game of this season was a comfortable victory over Manchester United, the most successful team in English football, in the Premier League. hat is a testament to what Whitehawk has achieved with William in charge. The club has become one of the most lethal attacking sides in the country with an attractive brand of football. They prepare excellently for each game and execute their game plan splendidly. They are very difficult for teams to beat now.

Now that they have a new owner in, you can expect money to flow this summer in the transfer window. Prince William won't spend it stupidly either, I don't think. He will bring in quality players for good prices who will further strengthen his squad and make them even more dangerous. There are rumours that Jesse Lingard could be a target for Whitehawk this summer and he could become a fantastic addition if Prince William can get the best out of him. If Whitehawk can continue their progress and development in the manner which they have done, they will become one of the best teams in this country in no time."

Transfers

All-in-all, we spent a grand total of £695k throughout the whole season on a total of fourteen players! I am happy with the majority of these signings and while a couple of these players never performed well enough on their chance in the team, the majority of them played well when called upon.

Barclays Premier League

This was a season of two true halves. Up to and including our defeat against Tottenham in January, we didn't pick up very many points at all. We suffered some heavy defeats and struggled to score many goals (except for games against Everton and even Chelsea!). After the Spurs game in January, our luck well and truly changed. We looked more confident and we certainly started scoring more goals. Our highlights of the second half of the season include a thrilling 4-3 win over Fulham, a hard-fought 2-1 win against West Ham and an emphatic 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the final game of the season.

This second half of the season saw us finish in an incredible 11th place in the league! We were expected to finish last and to defy expectations is wonderful for us. We have been terrific and we will be looking to build on this in years to come.

FA Cup

It was a disappointing FA Cup campaign for us as West Ham knocked us out in the third round. Hopefully we can do better in next season's competition.

Capital One Cup

We did well to get past the first couple of rounds but then Chelsea were too strong for us.

Other Competitions

Benfica were the surprise package in this year's Champions League competition, beating Manchester City in the final to lift the trophy! They also knocked out Manchester United in the semi-finals. Arsenal won the Europa League final in extra-time against French side Monaco. Real Madrid won Liga BBVA once again, while it was Juventus who lifted the Serie A trophy. Leverkusen won the German Bundesliga and Europa League finalists Monaco won Ligue 1.

I would say that you had a great season, and I still can't believe how far you came with Whitehawks. I hope you do even better in future!

Unlucky in the cup competitions last season, but definately a great base to build on. I'm placing bets on Whitehawk to easily qualify for Europe next season, maybe even Champions League

The 2020/2021 season was a fantastic one for Whitehawk as the club unexpectedly avoided relegation and finished in a very respectable 11th position! We had our star players, of course, and they all deserve a great amount of recognition. Let's begin our countdown for our Player of the Season!

5. Piet Velthuizen

Piet Velthuizen joined our club during the month of September on a free transfer and added a lot to the squad. Piet was not a guaranteed started, however, as Elliot Parish was very much a part of our season too. However, Piet's performances were fantastic and he made many vital saves to win us points. His cleansheet record is not the best by a long shot but considering the quality of the defence in front of him, he has performed well to concede as few as he has.

4. Kevin Griffiths

Kevin Griffiths, what a player! He may have started his career at our rivals Brighton but ever since 2017, he has been a proud Hawk. While he is a natural striker, I have deployed him on the left wing position in almost every game this season. His pace and movement with and without the ball made him a huge threat for opponents and he racked up a decent amount of goals and assists too. He is still very young (22) and will hopefully perform even better in future seasons.

3. Zach Clough

The much talked about striker was certainly one of our best players this season, but only from January onwards! He had an appalling first half of the season due to confidence issues but once his morale started to improve, so did his form and he only just missed out on the 20 goal mark for the season. I'm expecting an even bigger season from him next time out and will hope that his goals can lead us to glory.

2. Billy Roast

I have not given this man enough credit throughout the season. While the focus was certainly on our attacking ability, this guy's performances in our back four were absolutely outstanding, contrary to some of his defensive partners. Big and strong in the air, this guy was a rock and certainly helped keep opposition scores down. He has been with us since our League 2 days and has stepped up a gear with each promotion.

1. Junior Stanislas

It would have been a sin to name anybody but Junior Stanislas as our best player of the season. This guy was absolutely fantastic on the right wing for us, scoring and creating many many goals for us this season. He signed for us from Blackburn in the summer for a fee of £125k, and he has been worth every single penny. His skill, his flair and his eye for goal/pass has been truly brilliant. He is a pleasure to work with and a true hero for us this season.

Stanislas whenever I have got him is always a consistent player

Wow - 11th really is an exceptional return seeing as though you were languishing in the red for the large part of the season. You hit form at the perfect time, and now - with a new Chairman, that hopefully means much, much more cash to spend in upcoming transfer windows to make Whitehawk a true world power!

Cappy13, yeah he's been key to our season!

Walter, yeah we hit form at just the right moment which carried on until the end of the season. I won't spend the money stupidly, as it will take a few years of building to become a "giant club". Although I will promise a big name or two for next season

After a breath-taking debut Premier League season for Whitehawk which saw them finish in a very unexpected eleventh position, just one place behind English heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur, the Hawks are expected to spend big this summer after the arrival of new chairman Ronir Queiroz Cavalcante, from Brazil. Just months in to the Queiroz Cavalcante era, Whitehawk have already invested heavily in to clearing large loan debts and in to developing club facilities. The new chairman has promised his manager, Prince William, a large war-chest this summer in preparation for another season of fighting against relegation.

Ronir Queiroz Cavalcante: "I came here to England with a lot of ambition for Whitehawk to succeed and as a chairman, I will do the best I can to make this possible. I will invest as much time and money as I can afford in to this club to make it succeed. To make this possible, I have set no limits on the spending for (Prince) William this summer. He can bring in who ever he wants if he thinks he is capable of improving our squad. He is a fantastic manager and he has proven that over the last seven years. With him I always have hope of winning trophies."

While Ronir has shown great enthusiasm to spend large amounts of money to improve the squad, Prince William has played down talks of big summer signings, pointing towards the future of the club's financial security and the chances of 'flop' signings as his reasons.

William: "We could go out and spend as much money as we want but that is not who we are. My team of scouts have assembled very detailed reports on our summer transfer targets and still continue to search for more potential signings as we approach the beginning of the transfer window. We do a lot of work behind the scenes to analyse where we need to improve and who would be ideal to fit in to our squad. We won't spend money rashly because that is how flops happen. We will bring in the right players of the right calibre and the right mentality. Everything has to be ideal for us to sign a player. Big name or small name, we will spend wisely.

Another reason for us to be cautious with our summer transfer activity is the potential of a financial downfall in the club. Financial Fair Play does exist and while it would take an absolute fortune for us to break it, we do have to be wary of it and we have been so far. Alongside that, it is unhealthy to spend big money until the club is a secure Premier League team. We may have finished in a respectable mid-table position last season but we still have a lot more to do to plant our roots firmly in England's top league. When our stature increases more and we solidify our place in this division, then we can talk about mass spending. Not now, not yet."
