Capital One Cup Match Day
Second Half
'45' Well, McGrath must have said something strong to Villa at half time as Rondon and Jovic were out about 15 minutes before the second half started and Luka Jovic did not look happy as the rest of Villa came out around 8 minutes before Arsenal came out. It is going to be Villa to get us underway and there has been no changes at half time.
'49' Villa have shot out of the blocks this half and Rondon is on the ball now and he passes to Jovic, who has some poor control and Arsenal counter attack now with Sanchez surging through the middle, a short pass to Florenzi and a chip over to Riley... he shoots! AGAINST THE BAR, so unlucky for the 17 year old as Leno did not move.

Rondon in action
'50' Paul McGrath has not liked what he has seen so he is making a double substitution with Caulker coming on for Stones and Ryan Gauld on for Will Hughes, which means De Bruyne moves into the central midfield role and Gauld will play down the left wing.
'58' Free kick to Villa here as De Bruyne was fouled by Patric who got his final warning from referee Neil Swarbrick. It is Wilshere to drift in the free kick, but it is claimed by keeper Rulli. It has been disappointing for Villa in this second half as Welshman Aaron Ramsey comes on for Forenzi.
'65' Well Aston Villa have really improved int he last ten minutes. Jovic, who looks a bit more interested since McGrath started glaring at him. Here is Rondon on the ball, he has been holding the ball up well this match but has no outlet at the moment, but hang on he has found Wilshere with a sweet little ball throught he legs of Vermealen, Ooooh pure inspiration as he angles the ball across the face of the goal..........GOALLLLLLLLL it is Luka Jovic who makes it 2-1.
'66' Hang on a minute the referee has not given it! The linesman has ruled it offside! That is an unbelievable decision! Jovic was atleast 2 yards onside, as far as decisions go that could prove costly! Paul McGrath is going mental on the touchline and the decision is one of the poorest we have ever seen here.

Jovic should have scored the winning goal, but was wrongly disallowed
'67' Oh My Word that is a shocking tackle! Jack Wilshere has gone straight through on Sanchez. If dissallowing the goal was awful enough, the fact that Wilshere has gotten just a yellow card for a two footed, studs up challenge that has ended the match for Carlos Sanchez is even worse.
'74' Sanchez has finally been stretchered off and we got a glimpse of Rondon giving Wilshere a telling off and he also went to the bench and has obviously told McGrath that he should have been sent off so he is also being subbed and told to go straight to the changing room, it is not the ending Wilshere wanted to this match. Insigne replaces Sanchez and James Ward Prowse replaces Jack Wilshere and I would not like to be him at the end of the game.

It is not the first bad tackle that Wilshere has done, he was sent off for this tackle vs Birmingham City
'75' Great play by Ward Prowse as he gives the ball to Rondon, who is going deeper and deeper to get the ball now. Ward Prowse has continued his runa nd that is a great 20 yard pass by Rondon to find Ward Prowse........ who blazes just over! Great play by Villa, who have come to life now.
'82' Arsenal make a sub with Jorginho replacing Asamoah on the field.
'95' The referee blows for full time and we are going to extra time as Jovic's goal was wrong ruled out and that could cost Villa the cup!
