Figo Retires As A Head Coach

It came as a shock to everyone across the world after his Champions League win over Real Madrid, Luis Figo's press conference the next day reflecting on everything that happened and this was his statement. "I would like to resign as head coach of Inter Milan and retire from coaching for now. I wasn't too crazy about being a head coach, it has never been a huge ambition of mine but after I say how my beloved club was in a state of disarray I wanted to help anyway I could and they asked about the possibility of being a head coach and I jumped on the opportunity. I hope to stay on at the club in my old role as a director of the club and I hope to still impact this club as positively as I can. My three years being the Inter head coach has been nothing short of fantastic and to achieve this so quickly into my time as a head coach and I love everyone of those players on the squad and I wish them the best in their careers whether it is for Inter or any other club out there. Lastly I would like to thank to fans for the support they have shown me from the beginning and it helped me out a lot early on a helped me feel appreciated and feel like I was making a difference. Thank you everyone for a great last three years."

Luis Figo had a very successful three years at Inter winning eight trophies in six difference competitions in three years. He won one Italian Super Cup, two Italian Cups, two Serie A titles including the unbeaten season of 2017, one European Super Cup, one Europa League and one Champions League. In the three years as coach he definitely put himself into the top managers ever to manage Inter contributing eight more trophies to Inter's already great winning tradition. The thing he will most be remembered for though is leading Inter courageously out of the match-fixing scandal and a above average Serie A team and three years late making them the kings of Europe. It is safe to say that thanks to Luis Figo Inter Milan's Reputation is Restored
