NOVEMBER REVIEW

”Run can continue” – Zinedine Zidane

Results

A shorter month for the lads, but that did not affect them at all. Southampton provided us with tough opposition and were hard to break down. The lads preserved and thought through to gain the victory. I was very pleased with their attitude.

We were quite fortunate against Stoke, two first half goals from Romelu put us in control of the game. Although in the second half Stoke came out fighting, despite the fact they had gone down to ten men. We had to dig deep and weather a storm of pressure from Stoke. In the end, we came out on top and that was very pleasing.

The Reading game was a strange one, both teams were very competitive, but neither us of wanted to give too much away. The game soon became very compact and only came alive in the last five minutes. Late drama as Reading salvaged a deserved point in all honesty.
Due to the shortage of games this month, I have decided not to award the player of the month award, leaving it until December as we have a busy month ahead.

"Consistency is key" - Zinedine Zidane

A big month, and what a way to start it. A massive win over close rivals Manchester United. A deserved victory as well. United played a very narrow game, at their down fall as it aloud Baines and Arbeloa the freedom and ease to exploit them. We played a very good control game, with goals from Romelu either side of half time giving us all three points.

This gave lads immense confidence going into our next two games, Aubameyang making life worse for a struggling QPR side, with a magnificent hat-trick. A great individual performance allowing our unbeaten run to continue.

Beating the teams around us has been one vital ingredient to our success this year. The lads followed that with our victory at home to Arsenal, as we look to hold on to our European spot. We controlled the game with nearly 60% possession. The score line does not reflect our dominance as the lads had 21 attempts on goal alongside that. Very pleasing indeed.

I know a Derby day victory would have been a very sweet tasting Christmas present for our fans, but it was not to be. A very even game although it was another match were we were creating chances at will. A typical Merseyside Derby, which soon became very scrappy. Balotelli scoring a Liverpool’s winner half way through the second half.

The way the team bounced back from the loss was nothing but impressive. Two comfortable and free scoring victories and a draw. Hull played very deep with a lot of bodies behind the ball, we were just unable to unlock the door.

Player of the Month

I touched upon his impact in the Manchester United game, alongside that he was outstanding in the rest of the month’s game. Scoring two goals and a three assists. He was able to find a lot of space in the games, allowing us to really get the best out of him in a attacking sense.

BESIC ON HIS WAY OUT?

http://i62.tinypic.com/1zz2kj8.jpg

With the January transfer window finally upon many rumours are starting to circulate. With today many rumours coming out of Goodison Park that central midfielder Muhamed Besic could be on his way out of the club.

Both Inter Milan and AC Milan are thought to be preparing bids for the Bosnian midfilder. With an eye of providing him with more consistent first team football. During his first season at Everton, Besic was more of a rotation option under Zidane. Game time was at a premium thanks to the form of James McCarthy and the experienced Gareth Barry.

However this season despite having a minor injury set back, Besic has appeared in twelve of the nineteen league games Everton have played. The 23 year old looks to be in contention to become an important first team player for Everton. Zidane looks to be casting one eye to the future of the team.

Everton are unlikely to want to sell Besic, early reports suggest they will dismiss any bids under the £15,500,000 asking price. Neither Besic nor Everton are yet to comment on the situation. However Inter Milan boss Walter Mazzarri has spoken of his admiration for the midfielder ” Besic, he is a very talented midfielder, waiting to blossom. We would be very interested in adding him to our great squad we have here”.

No bids have been confirmed, although with the transfer window fast approaching speculation may grow. This could be one to keep a careful eye on.

“We continue to impress” – Zinedine Zidane

At times during this month I thought we were just scoring goals for fun. We looked very very strong this month. The attacking play by my players has been excellent. I was very pleased with the football we have played and how well we have handled the busy Christmas schedule. The win over Dagenham & Redbrigde, was a great start. Steven was on another planet, it’s fair to say he stole the show.

A potentially tricky game travelling away to Newcastle, however the lads turned up for the game and delivered. The game was settled within twenty minutes. I was very pleased with how they took the game right out of the hands of Newcastle.

I was disappointed with the two draws against Swansea and Brentford, Brentford especially. I could see that the busy calendar was getting to the players, it showed in their football. A reply was anything but convenient for us.

Which led to some of being handed a reality check from Man City, we just did not turn up on the day. Everyone at the club was disappointed. No excuses were made, nothing more than the fact they were just the better side. With the pace of Navas and Memphis Depay we could not handle them.

The boys knew they had done wrong by the result, everyone turned up for the Chelsea game knowing we needed a result. Ross’ first half goal was a sublime effort and the lads dug deep for all three points.

Player of the Month

Not a house hold name to many, but Brendan Galloway has been essential to our success over the Christmas period. The nineteen year old has impressed me everyone in numerous under 21 performances. I decided to give the kid a chance in the first team. Due to the cup games and general fixture congestion, he has not disappointed. He’s a hardworking, tough tackling midfielder who can pick a pass too.

Fixture congestion made it hard for you at times but you pulled through and remain in the hunt for glory, which is all that matters!
Justice - yes, its been hard but we'll keep fighting!

EVERTON REJECT TWO BIDS FOR BESIC

Besic has decided to fight on at Everton

Everton have confirmed today that they have rejected two bids for Bosnia & Herzegovina midfielder Muahamed Besic. Rumours were circulated earlier in the month, however it took until the transfer deadline day for any bids to materialise.

Early in the morning of transfer deadline day Everton confirmed to BBC Sport that they rejected a £10,250,000 bid from the Italia giants Inter Milan. As well as Inter, Lazio were also confirmed to be enquiring about the possibility of a transfer but did not make an official bid.

Later on in the day as the clock was ticking down on any potential deals, Premier League rivals Tottenham laid an audacious £9,750,000 bid on the table. Which was inevitably laughed away by Everton.

Besic looks set to stay at Goodison Park, and is thought to be relishing the prospect of playing a key role for the club.

Deadline Day Deals

Wayne Routlegde > Leicester

Nemanja Matic > Man City

Jermaine Jones > Reading

Martin Skrtel > Swansea
Wow, having a great season thus far! Keep it up!

“Keep ploughing away” – Zinedine Zidane

The FA Cup replay was an unnecessary game for us really, however the lads were very professional and got the job done to set up a tie with Manchester City. From this we went on to endure a slight blip, hitting the tail end of a busy schedule.

I believe the FA Cup has really taken it out of some of the players, with so many games in quick succession. However we have to move on. It showed in our following two Premier League games, we were not at the races against West Brom.

Despite drawing with City, to earn yet another replay. We want to take the FA Cup seriously, the result against City gave us something to fight for. Alongside this it gave the boys a lift, the confidence drove us through to get maximum points from the next two league games.

Two potentially tricky games against Leicester and Southampton, but we made no mistake in these games. We are starting to put ourselves in a really strong position to finish in the top four. The other results are starting to go our way so we are looking strong in the league.

Player of the Month

The young lad has come back stronger since he suffered an throughout the latter stages of last year. Scoring five goals in the six games, he has worked himself back into the starting eleven. His fine form has caught the eye of many, we are looking to tie him down with a new contract. We want him to become an iconic player here.

ROBERTS PENS NEW EVERTON DEAL

Roberts has impressed in his first season

Everton have announced today that, attacking midfielder Patrick Roberts have signed a new contract at that will see pledge his future to the club until 2020. The long term deal shows that manager Zinedine Zidane is hoping Roberts will be a focal point in the Everton team going forward.

Roberts has had a breakthrough season at Goodison. Since arriving for £11,250,000 in the summer Roberts has helped fight for a potential Champions League spot. Roberts has scored eleven goals this season, grabbing six assists alongside that.

It is believed the new deal will fend off any interest from top clubs, early reports suggest that the contract also includes a £60,000,000 buyout clause for any clubs in the Champions League.

This is what Roberts had to say about his deal with the Tofffee’s ” I feel like I owe it to this club, they have given me a chance to play in the best league in the world. Hopefully we can make big strides in the future.
Patrick Roberts is a BRILLIANT player, has done incredibly for me in my Fulham save! Great to see you've tied him down, I hope he becomes a Toffees legend! :D
Neal - same for me as you have seen! Hopefully, he has the potential for sure!

MARCH UPDATE

“We decided our fate” – Zinedine Zidane

Resuts

Although we kicked the month off with a defeat, a solid month for us with some very important victories. Everyone was disappointed to be knocked out of the FA Cup, I felt we had a chance to go far again. Ultimately it was not to be.

City were as strong as ever, fielding a very strong squad. Two goals from Sergio Aguero were enough to see them through. One thing that has been very pleasing for us is the team’s response, the boys switched right on again and handled business as usual as soon as we got back in the Premier League. A solid victory against Reading, two early goals were enough, despite late goals for either side.

Stoke away is a tough game. Many struggle, but with a quick start they did not know what had hit them. The boys set a furious pace to the game and we were in full control throughout. Three more points on the board for us.

Not many teams in the Premier League can say they have done the double over Manchester United. For us this is a great achievement. Fully deserved as well. The game was very tight, a very close game against a very good Manchester United side. A late Balanta header saw us take all three points. This was a massive win that saw us take control of the second place spot in the league.

Player of the Month

Aiden has been magnificent for us this month. His technical ability and his skill has seen him catch the headlines this month. Some magnificent performances as well as scoring a goal to go with it. He has been one of our unsung heroes this season. Runs into the ground every game and puts a real shift in for the side.

Nice month Still going strong, Still in this title race!
