I'm Back
The Wycombe Wanderers prophet has returned and he means business. Look forward to the frequent updates returning, thankyou and goodnight!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Woop woop! It's back!!!
December 2172/73
I'd call this a fairly tough return in all honesty, having to discuss a frantic December month with a huge amount of games within. The lads stuggled with fatigue throughout the month but looked good when they could. In other news, I'm at uni now, woop woop.
A grand return
A confident display at the Giggs Arena allowed us to go home with a 3-0 win, a clean sheet against an English giant is always pleasing. The game was as good as done by half time as we lead by 3 into the break, then it was a case of rotation and resting some players to see us home. A very good start.
The competition between Sainrimat and Dzafic is really hotting up now as the French striker notched 2 against Forest after Dzafic did the same in the game prior. Of course, Sainrimat got his chance due to fixture congestion and took it, leading us to a tight win over Forest.
Simply put, I don't think the team cared enough to really try in this game. Liverpool are a top team this year, following us in the league, so we needed to be up for this game to win it, and we just weren't, neither of our strikers looked in the mood today either.
We were truly dominated by our arch rivals, Plymouth, they bombarded our goal with shots but fortunately could only get the 1, and Masawudu popped up to save us from our first League loss. Once again, neither striker found the net, the form ebs and flows.
Finally we get back to winning ways, a decent victory over Colchester, though we'll be disappointed to have conceded twice, not quite the clean cut performance we saw at United. Lawson was excellent in this game, 1 goal and 2 assists, involved directly in every one of our goals. Fantastic stuff.
Scully is quickly emerging as a fan favourite in my eyes, in many ways he's a similar option to Ibrahim, in the last few minutes you may need a goal, and he might just do it. And indeed, the similarities continue as he scored a late one versus Man City to rescue a result, similar to how Ibrahim won us the FA Cup last year.
An FA cup match to end the month, and a chance for either of the strikers to impress, Sainrimat started and took full advantage of my faith in him, scoring 2 times and assisting once. A decent display against a lower Hull side, but we'll take it.
Player of the Month
This man is a monster, his assist and goal ratios are simply terrific for us and is possibly one of the best signings of the save so far. He did so well to fight into the team and is now a true key player. It can only be our right winger, Steve Lawson.
Flop of the Lot
2 goals in a month like December is never good for a leading striker, and unfortunately it's been one of those months for our FOTL. He started the month well, but has since dropped off horrifically. Next month we hope he gets back to top form, Mirsad Dzafic
A few hiccups
It would appear if anyone's going to run us close this year, it'll be Liverpool, 8 points behind after a hectic month for us, we drew twice, 4 points dropped. However, taking fatigue into account, I'll take that.
Huge games to come
There are 2 HUGE games coming up in January, one after another, our two main league rivals, Spurs and Liverpool form the start of our year, and two wins could really put us beyond catching. The league could be as good as done by the end of the month, ooooooh.
Until next time, thanks for reading, all comments will be reciprocated.
Thanks, Alex
Very good return man! Good luck for the rest of the year!
Pretty great month here pal! Not good to see your star striker only scoring twice in such a busy month, but at least he has some goals!
