Probably the best story you'll read all day, okay, maybe not, but you know, have a nose.

CHAMPIONSSSSSS!! Shame about the Champions League mate but a domestic double is not to be sniffed at

Holiday time

So lads, to leave you on a mega cliffhanger on what we'll win this season, I am going on holiday to Cyprus for 2 weeks. I never take my laptop with me when I go on holiday, so I won't be updating for that time. I was going to conclude the season tonight, but unfortunately the room in which my mac's in is locked up, so that's not happening. Thanks for all your support recently and I'll be sure to give you back your Summer of 69 content as soon as I'm home.

Cheers guys, Alex
Will be looking out for this story once it's back, have a good time in Cyprus buddy :D
Will be awaiting the next update very much excitement :)
Story is still going strong! Have a great holiday man can't wait to see what's happening in the next update!

I have returned

I am back for good this time, no more long holidays, no more exams, just me, the game and you guys! You'll hopefully see an update tomorrow as we get back on with the MIGHTY DUCKS. I've missed this :)

Winding down

Welcome back to The Summer of 69, you and I have had a nice 2 week break and I can safely say it's good to be back. I'm a lot more tanned and cultured than before but other than that very little has changed. Therefore, you join us where we last left off, having won the league we looked to finish convincingly and take home the FA Cup in a final against Man City, an interesting update to be had.

3 games of May

A crazy game away from home against Hull City as we played a 4-2-2-2 formation as well a few rotated players such as Brown and for this season, Zoundi. This game reminded me of Fergie's final game in management, a bit of a mad one to be honest, but we pulled through thanks to 2 late goals from Lawson and Otsuki.

A much less exciting game against Stevenage this time, an even more rotated side managed to take a clean little draw against the struggling side. However, Brown failed to keep things clean, getting send off just after the hour mark for second bookable offence within 3 minutes! Our final league game was a boring one but it set us up well for the FA cup final.

What. A. Game. Ibrahim was brought on in the 79th minute to hit home his Wycombe Wanderers legacy, to write his name in the history books for eternity. And so he did, in the 120th minute Ibrahim scored a true poachers goal to steal us the FA Cup in the dying embers of the match, when most had firmly set their minds on penalties.

However, their is a deeper story to the winning goal, the Man City keeper was injured on the 113th minute, and having used all their subs, Bah, a left winger went in net, and later regretted that decision immensely as you'll see from Ibrahim's goal.

Far enough away

We finish 6 points clear at the top from Spurs, who ran us close right to the end to be honest, Forest dropped off eventually, falling away to be 11 points away from us. Ultimately, our 2nd win in the league makes us look like quite the global power, really are the MIGHTY DUCKS now. Also, note Sainrimat's fantastic effort to pull Preston to 12th in the league, helping them claim the award for most overachieving team, predicted to come 19th, but our man's goals definitely helped them survive comfortably, and now I have faith in him for next year.

Player of the Month

It has to be THAT man in the FA Cup final, our hero Ibrahim, remember the days of it being either him or Kraise to stay? I'm glad I kept our Turkish man to continue his legacy to this point, scoring the crucial winner in the FA cup for us. This man deserves a testimonial one day, but he's 32 years old now, will he make it?

Flop of the Lot

I only have 3 games to pick from but Liam Brown didn't have the best of times this month, I gave him a chance in the last 2 league games of the season, but he played poorly in the first and was yellow then red carded within 3 minutes in the second. Not a very good way to prove yourself.

There's more to come

We still have stuff to do for this season, never mind the next, a season review is in order to mark the true end of the year. That'll be coming soon before we move onto a new season, more trials and tribulations and hopefully a Champions League on the horizon, who knows?!?!

As usual, thanks for reading, all comments will be reciprocated,

Tah, Alex

Season Review 2171/72

This is my 3rd time writing this because things keep going wrong, however, nothing can stop me from writing about my sides great season, winning a few trophies including the league! The Champions League effort was not great but that'll come, hopefully next season, until then, we have some awards to give out.

Player of the Year

This award is always one of the hardest, so many of the lads deserve this award for their outstanding effort throughout the season. However, only one man can win this, and their name will surely go down in Wycombe history.

And the winner is...

Our £44 million man, Mohammed Masawudu deserves this one, scoring 37 goals and 21 assists this year. He sure cost us a bucket load but he's returned the money with bags to spare as he made a habit of coming in from that left hand side and prodding it home. Well done man, what a good season.

Flop of the Year

After a very good year for us it's hard to pick someone who hasn't really turned up, but as always, there's ways a team can be improved. There were a few players I expected to push on this year more than they actually did, however, only one person can take home the award no one wants.

And the winner is...

It's a young lads turn this time unfortunately, a guy I really expected to push on this season but has really dipped into the shadows of his more experienced competitors. Unfortunately, Tafari Holden hasn't come on as I would have liked, maybe he'll get the chance to fight for a place next year, but until then, he's picked up the worst award.

Surprise of the Year

There was plenty of choice for this award as many players came forward to fight at the forefront of the team this season. In a side with such predicted talent it's hard to find a surprise on the face of it, but over the year, players seem to really show up over the season.

And the winner is…

This lad has worked tooth and nail to pull himself into the starting side on a consistent basis after having 2 years of uncertainty here before. Zoggers has really gone up a gear this year to confirm himself as Griffin’s centre back partner, only picking up one FOTL award this year, much better by his standards.

The games opinion

As usual at the end of every year the game has it's say on the teams performance as a whole, so, at this point we'll hand over to FM to tell you what it thinks.

Our wide men dominated the games awards this year, Masawudu winning Fan's player of the year as well as Signing of the year and Goal of the year whilst Lawson won young player of the year after his monumental amount of assists this year.

As usual, some odd selections in the TOTY this season, no Otsuki which is definitely a shocker, as is the exclusion of our SOTY winner Zoggers who has been swapped for Ruiz who kept getting sent off for most of this season.

Statistically, nothing spectacular bar Slater's oddly great pass completion rate, which is rather bizarre.

The review section shows of a nice little summary of our year, staggering up to first to then claim it for the rest of the year. It also highlights our huge % attendance, potentially hinting we may need a new stadium, but I'll wait until it could have my name on it first.

We go again

Once again a season has drawn to a close, but a new season is on the horizon and hopefully an even more succesful one for the MIGHTY DUCKS, thanks for reading over the past few months, please feel free to let me know what YOUR award winners are.

Thankyou, all comments will be reciprocated,

Alex

2172/73 Kit Launch

The MIGHTY DUCKS have a fresh new look for the coming season in order to look good as they pick up plenty of trophies throughout the year. The lads have been flaunting the new strip in pre-season and are very happy to have a new adidas cutting edge shirt to wear.

Sponsored by the fashion website ASOS, the team have a really high ranking international look now to support their European adventures, Wycombe really are a big team now, and we have the look to prove it.

Look forward to see some of your Wycombe Wanderers hero's like Ibrahim and Masawudu flaunting this high quality jersey next year, designed by FmScouts own Feliks, he's done a great job.

Nice kits and good to see Asos is still going strong over 150 years in the future
Love the kits dude
