Bananaz: Thanks man! Hope you're enjoying it
Scott: Totally agree mate, we'll all just have to see what goes on

To get nine points from a possible fifteen is a good return for a team that is still getting the hang of things in an unforgiving league. We are getting slightly more comfortable in home ties, we just need to tighten up away from home and keep a few clean sheets to boost the defensive confidence and I think we will be well on our way to achieving our goals.

After the first perfect month for Wrexham, with their seven wins out of seven, the Welsh side have struggled slightly this month, drawing two and losing one - remaining at the top of the table nevertheless. We cannot allow the gap between ourselves and the Play-Offs exceed anymore than three points if we want to stand a chance of getting promoted this season, as the the four Play-Off places in this league are very competitive due to the two promotion allocations.

Darius Henderson has been sublime this month, despite missing the Forest Green match due to injury. Henderson has found his feet in a hotly contested position in the squad which sees James Constable drop the bench on most occasions nowadays. We changed formation to a 4-4-2 Diamond in the final game of the month versus Sutton and as you can see, the change suited him perfectly as he banged home a hat-trick whilst playing up-front with Jake Pickard.

Not the best of months, dropping points to sides that perhaps you should be beating such as Southport. But head up, still just outside the playoffs and ending the month on a high at least!

After 1,011 minutes without scoring a goal for The Spitfires, young striker Jake Pickard has hit back at critics by netting a hat-trick in a 4-0 home demolition of Maidstone United.
Pickard's last goal was on the first day of the new season as he scored a brace in a 4-1 victory over Guiseley in the Vanarama National League.
However, a recent change of formation has benefited the strikers in the Eastleigh camp, with it not being so long since Darius Henderson bagging a hat-trick against Sutton United.
Before the match against Maidstone, the local press and non-league media were calling for Liam Knowles to drop Jake Pickard from the starting eleven due to his goal drought, but the 19-year-old has silenced those for the time being with a Man of the Match performance.
He spoke to the local press after the game, talking about the people who had criticised him.
Jake Pickard, 4/10/2016:
"Yeah, I understand the critics and where they are coming from, but the fans and press need to understand that a lot of new players have come in and are trying to find our feet and gather a bit of confidence. I know I've not been on form recently and I'm trying my best to change that, including my goals today. The gaffer is doing a real good job here at the club and the fans should really believe in him."
The 4-0 thumping against Maidstone has only made Jay Saunders' hopes for survival in the fifth tier a lot harder with his newly-promoted team who are stuck on seven points. Eastleigh have bolstered their chances of a raid on the Play-Off places as they hang two points outside 5th place. With Wrexham beginning to slip up, the league is slowly starting to open up more as the season progresses.

I must say, a much better showing this month. Particularly at home we have impressed especially with a total of eleven goals going in from ourselves at the Silverlake Stadium alone. We failed to win a single game away from home, though which is very worrying and something that needs to be worked on. This month also marked the beginning of our involvement with the F.A. Cup as we walked away with a 2-0 win against Vanarama National South outfit Poole Town in the Fourth Qualifying Round. The victory sets up a tasty First Round tie with League Two strugglers Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.

With the nine points gained from October, the results have pushed us up one place from last month into seventh place going into November. Ideally, we would like to be higher, but with other clubs slipping up above us, we need to capitalise on that at some point. We sit three points behind the last Play-Off place and twelve points behind first-place, who are still 1st in the league despite losing two matches this month.

The Player of the Month award for October goes to nobody else but Jake Pickard. After an unforgivably slow start to the season, Pickard has answered his critics this month with seven goals in October, including three assists. Pickard has been a vital player to the games that we have won, and I hope that the recent spout of goals really boosts his confidence and hunger to score even more.

2017-04-09 14:46#241448 ScottT : Massive win against Dagenham! Good win against Poole as well. Was delighted against Dagenham not gonna lie! The FA Cup run is vital for finances as well, if I need to adjust the squad in January.
