Very unlucky against Dortmund with the red card and very late goal. But even a top 5 finish is a great effort this season and will show how much progress you have made over the last season.

European Football Awaits 1860 Munich

1860 Munich players celebrate with manager Daniel Bierofka after securing European qualification
• 1860 Munich will play European football for the first time since the 2000-01 UEFA Cup
• The remaining Bundesliga fixtures see 1860 Munich face Mainz 05 and SC Freiburg
• The 2022/23 UEFA Europa League final will see Real Madrid face VfB Stuttgart
Starting the season as relegation favourites, 1860 Munich have proved all the critics wrong throughout the season leading to them sealing a place in the UEFA Europa League after defeating Eintracht Frankfurt in front of a sold-out home crowd.
In the 35th minute, Musa Barrow played a through ball to Lisandru Tramoni to allow him to place the ball past Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp much to the delight of their adoring home fans. 1860 Munich would keep a clean sheet for the rest of the match to seal a 1-0 victory.
“I am so proud of the efforts of the squad, they have worked extremely hard and deserve this fantastic achievement.” said 1860 Munich manager Daniel Bierofka. “The fans have offered incredible support to the players throughout my time at the club, I am thrilled to see them celebrate and enjoy this moment.” he added.
1860 Munich could still mathematically could earn a place in the UEFA Champions League but this looks to be very unlikely after the loss to Borussia Dortmund at the end of April. Fans of Die Löwen will now begin saving to travel across Europe in support of their club next season.
Eoin97 & OneMoreGame: My goal of European qualification has been achieved, one season earlier than I expected
J_ames & TheLFCFan: The Dortmund result was heartbreaking but you can't have everything go your way
tedbro20: A bit early to be thinking of making Bayern the number two side in Munich but I really look forward to a tough battle against them each season
Jack: Still an outside chance at Champions League but more than likely Europa League next season
NTBgaming: Munich will be a good place to be if you are a football fan in Germany
Justice: Fifth would be incredible, very possible achievement also!
ScottT: Monchengladbach are a very good team currently, hoping some big non-German clubs pick up a few of their players to make my life easier
