A great signing a couple of years ago who is showing his quality. Lovely stuff!

2022/23 End Of Season Awards

-----

Player Of The Season

Armel Bella-Kotchap

Leading the way for 1860 Munich in the 2022/23 Bundesliga season, Bella-Kotchap was vital in the success of the club which eventually led to European qualification. The spirited centre back has shown great pace, balance and strength which has allowed him to be able to adapt and overcome even the best attacking players in the competition.

-----

Leading Goalscorer

Musa Barrow

After finishing the 2021/22 season as the player of the season, Barrow had a diminished return in 2022/23 scoring four less goals. Also taking into consideration the lack of goals from the other strikers in the squad, 1860 Munich may consider bringing in a new player at the position in the summer transfer window.

-----

Most Assists

Domagoj Bradaric

In his first season at the club, Croatian left back Domagoj Bradaric produced seven assists despite suffering an injury plagued season. Despite a good season, the 23-year-old will still have his position challenged with the fast developing 1860 Munich youth product Christian Schmidt expected to feature in the first team squad next season.

-----

Young Player Of The Season

Armel Bella-Kotchap

You would be forgiven in mistaking Bella-Kotchap for an older and more experienced player after his outstanding season. The sky is the limit for the 21-year-old centre back with a lot of time remaining for him to improve on his already impressive abilities and develop into one of the leading players in his position in Europe.

Comments

Wolf & Jack: I did my scouting and couldn't believe my luck that he was available for such a small fee.

ScottT: He was considering a move at the start of the season but Europe should stop that issue.

J_ames: If he left, the club would take the funds so it would be a step backwards for the strength of the squad.

Tango: Modesty is the best policy.

grismosw7: Certainly wasn't expected, now I am just really looking forward to next season.

Justice: Ketchup ... Catsup ...

TheLFCFan: Really happy with his performances, hopefully this is just the start.

Armel Bella-Kotchap looks like a steal mate. I have him on my shortlist at Roma so might have to give him a go if i can get him as cheap as you.
All of these guys are not nearly at their best so you can expect them to shine even brighter next seasons!
Armel had to get the award after being in the Team of the Season, seems a great player for such a cheap fee. Interested to see who comes in as 1860s new striker!
Those awards point towards one thing in particular. Bierofka has conducted his transfer business beautifully.
this Bella-Kotchap seems the real deal huh

if he's playing like this at 21, I'm eager to see how he's gonna turn out in the future
Looks likely some movement in the window will be coming especially in attack. Interested to see who is bought in.
Maybe the Barrow needs some repairs.

Maybe this was his strikers this season Justice?
Good to see Domagoj pick up an award, hopefully he'll have a much less injury-plagued season next season. He always attracts monster bids from clubs in France and England, so if he does... you may be able to get a great fee and try to find someone less injury prone :D

Keep up the good work man

Dortmund Interested In Bierofka

The passionate fans of Borussia Dortmund may be in the future of Daniel Bierofka

• Bierofka is currently contracted with 1860 Munich until the end of the 2024/25 season
• The Bundesliga title has eluded Borussia Dortmund since the 2011-12
• Borussia Dortmund’s last trophy was the DFB-Pokal in 2020/21 under Arsene Wenger

After taking 1860 Munich from 3. Liga to the UEFA Europa League, current German Manager of the Year Daniel Bierofka has been approached to take over as manager of Borussia Dortmund. The position is vacant after the board announced that Antonio Conte has been sacked from his position after being at the club for just one season.

Despite the interest in Bierofka, another rumoured candidate for the role is Jorge Sampaoli who chose to leave FC Porto after winning the Primeira Liga with the club and being knocked out of the UEFA Europa League at the quarter final stage. The 62-year-old has also had two stints as manager of Sevilla while also leading the Argentinian national side from 2017 to 2018.

“I would be greatly interested in the role at Borussia Dortmund should the opportunity be available to me.” said Sampaoli. “They are a club with a number of great players, facilities and resources available, any manager who has a chance to have this at their disposal would be in a great position to succeed.” he added.

It is believed that Bierofka interviewed for the position with Borussia Dortmund in the past few days but when asked about the speculation, Bierofka refused to comment. 1860 Munich President Niklas Volker noted he had not spoken to Bierofka about the topic as of yet but he had a meeting scheduled this week.

walkinshaw & Jack: Bringing in a talented player for a small fee is the dream right?

OneMoreGame & Tango: I have a very young squad, plenty of time for them to grow.

ScottT: I am happy with who I have brought in but in hindsight I wish I kept the young talent I let go

TheLFCFan: Looking for the best player to improve the squad for the best price but attack is certainly a focus.

Justice: I used to own a wheelbarrow full of four-leaf clovers but then I realised I shouldn't push my luck.

J_ames: I have a talented youngster who might surpass Bradaric so I wouldn't mind a club showing some interest
Great to be getting linked to such a high profile job. Just shows how well your doing
honestly? Let Sampaoli have it

in Munich you have a consolidated career, fans who love you, your favorite grocery store, and a lot of fun
Wow I wonder what that speculation of Dortmund is all about, don't know if you wanna leave the Lions

The grocery store has to be a deal-breaker in this, surely.
