Bierofka Named Leading German Manager

Daniel Bierofka has beaten out Thomas Tuchel in being named the German Manager of the Year
• Bierofka guided 1860 Munich to fifth place in the Bundesliga after being predicted for relegation
• Tuchel did not win despite winning the UEFA Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain
• A leading German club is rumoured to be interested in Bierofka for next season
After being named the Bundesliga Manager of the Year last season, 1860 Munich manager Daniel Bierofka has gone one step better after being named the German Manager of the Year for the 2022/23 season. Proving to be a good eye for talent and an exponent of attacking football, the 44-year-old continues to defy expectations season after season.
Fans and media pundits alike disagreed with the award being given to Bierofka over Thomas Tuchel who led Paris Saint-Germain to claim the UEFA Champions League with a 4-1 victory over AC Milan as well as winning the Ligue 1 title. In the past three years under the guidance of Tuchel, Paris Saint-Germain have played in three consecutive UEFA Champions League finals, winning two of them.
“I am honoured to be considered for the award, but I truly believe Thomas (Tuchel) is not only the best German manager currently but also the best overall.” said Bierofka. “His record speaks for itself and he continues to set the standard for all managers throughout the world. I hope one day to be in a position in my career to be involved in a match against him” he added.
After his incredible success with Paris Saint-Germain, Thomas Tuchel has now been recruited by Manchester City who finished fifth in the Premier League last season after claiming five consecutive Premier League titles prior as well as winning the UEFA Champions League in the 2019/20 season with Pep Guardiola moving onto manage the Spanish national team.
