Interesting to see Barrow get some competition after his great season last time around, should make him play better if anything ;)

I think Dolberg can absolutely bring something extra for your team. Traoré needs to prove himself again

Results

It was a perfect pre-season tour to Portugal for 1860 Munich, winning all five games. Despite the good performances, 1860 Munich manager Daniel Bierofka still faces several tough selection decisions with many players consistently performing throughout the tour.

Fixtures

Comments

tedbro20 & TheLFCFan: Two handy attacking additions as well as increasing our squad depth.

Zed & ScottT: His time at OGC Nice hasn't been too productive but hopefully I can turn that around.

Jack: Barrow is certainly under pressure to maintain his place in the starting side.

Wolf: Dolberg is known to have talent, Traore is more of a diamond in the rough.
Yass here we go. Let's get this season started

A very successful pre-season and now Bierofka faces a selection dilemma that every manager loves to have. A tough couple of games to start the new Bundesliga season in truth. Good luck.

You had your fun in Portugal, now it's time to work
A good preseason to give you that much-needed boost to begin what is a tough start to the new campaign.
The perfect pre-season. Great job.
Should be a big season!

1860 Munich Cruise In DFB-Pokal First Round

1860 Munich defensive midfielder Marco Kana asserted himself in the victory over Chemnitzer FC

1860 Munich 2 - 0 Chemnitzer FC

In their opening round of the DFB-Pokal, 1860 Munich faced Bundesliga 2 side Chemnitzer FC which was the first competitive match for their four new signings in Svetozar Markovic, Amadou Traore, Diogo Dalot and Kasper Dolberg.

In the opening half, possession was shared between the two teams with Chemnitzer FC impressing at various times but failing to get past 1860 Munich defensive midfielder Marco Kana who made numerous key tackles. The best opportunity of the first half saw Kasper Dolberg place a one on one chance on the wrong side of the post as the game went into the break without a goal scored by either side.

The second half saw Robin Hack opened the scoring for 1860 Munich in the 46th minute when Eduardo Camavinga played the ball through to allow Hack an easy one on one chance. 1860 Munich’s 19-year-old midfield prodigy would increase the lead seven minutes later getting on the end of a cross from Amadou Troare. It was smooth sailing for 1860 Munich for the rest of the match as they secured their progression to the next round.

“It was a good opportunity for our team to gel with the new players at the club in a competitive environment.” said newly appointed 1860 Munich captain Eduardo Camavinga. “The whole club was not happy with how we exited this competition last season and we hope to make up for it this time around.” he added.

The second-round draw of the DFB-Pokal was not kind to 1860 Munich as they are set to face RB Leipzig at home. The timing of the fixture will see them play two consecutive home games against RB Leipzig with the Bundesliga fixture scheduled for three days prior.

Everyone: Time to see what kind of season we can put together.
Great stuff! Seems like the days of struggling early on in this competition are passed and you can really crack on. Great to see Camavinga and Kana settling into their new tactical roles well too.
Leipzig will be a tough challenge so early into the competition. A tough draw indeed.
I believe you can make a great run and fight for a place in the champions league! Also now you have all the competitions so all your players can develop and play decent amount of time.
Easy work ;)
Easy win, but not rewarded with another easy fixture. I'm sure you'll be able to beat Leipzig though, and that means one less superpower to face later on in the cup!
