Revenge is a dish that was served cold to OL, as we returned the heartbreak by advancing due to away goals scored.

My starting left midfielder is out for ~5 weeks, however, which means both of my primary left midfielders are out of commission. It's a concern because I want to field the strongest side possible going into the Champions Cup Final, but we'll have to play with the cards we've been dealt.
# 6294 : Great story, I'm loving it.
Can you show the Sunderland team please?

Glad you're enjoying it! Sunderland has been a major thorn in my side over the past two seasons. Even with their star striker, Hajji, injured, I just don't match up well against them for some reason.

The finish line is in sight and Caca seems up for the final push:

go on caca son!!!
We didn't do it in triumphant fashion, but a loss by Arsenal guaranteed that we would win the Premier League for the second season in a row!

I couldn't have dreamed of a much better season. Only getting a start because Leroy Fer has to serve a yellow card suspension, Daniel Maglione puts himself into the memory books of Newport County fans everywhere with this freekick.

Summary

How do we top last season's remarkable success? How does a young, and still upstart, team handle the pressures of having a bulls-eye on their backs? This Newport squad responded with resiliency and composure that led to a fantastic season that led to a lot of silverware being added to the trophy case.

A somewhat lackluster performance in our Community Shield victory had me concerned, as did a very competitive group of teams at the top of the Premier League table. The squad stayed strong, however, and our strikeforce carried us to magnificent heights. On the backs of Caca and Marcel Hasselbaink, we were able to retain both the Premier League crown and the League Cup; and to that we added the most fantastic prize of them all - the Champions Cup.

It remains to be seen what we will do to provide an encore in coming seasons and what other teams will do to match our team's strength. With finances getting better by the year, however, I feel like the Newport County snowball is just getting rolling and we could very well be on our way to burying our competitors. With a strong squad already in place, the board is matching my ambitions by continuing to fund expansion projects.

We are expanding everything in sight - the stadium, training facilities, youth facilities, and our youth network. Our income from placing highly in the Premier League and playing in the Champions League continues to pad our cash reserves and that allows us to spend tens of millions of dollars on elite players without running a deficit. In fact, this marks the second season in a row that we've paid out several million dollars to our shareholders because of how much gross income we're generating (nearly 300m this season alone).

The bottom line is looking more and more bleak for the rest of the league. If we continue to grow at our current rate, it's only a matter of time before we can begin putting a stranglehold on the entire Premier League. I've begun to focus on signing some of the best young English talent away from Premier League clubs until our own youth network begins bringing in comparable talent. Once we get to the point where we can bring up talented players from the youth ranks to the first team, I think we will see the dawn of the dominant age for Newport County.
I don't think we'll be sneaking up on anyone this season with the way we kicked things off.

Our second trophy of the young season:

that must be very embarassing for arsenal and forientina
Bloody hell :O . 82 goals & 25 MoM for Caca! 54 assists for Hasselbaink! 7-0 vs Arsenal! 6-1 vs Fiorentina!

Possibly some of the greatest things I've witnessed since playing FM.
# craigemb_u redzz : that must be very embarassing for arsenal and forientina

To lose to us? Not necessarily. I've raised Newport County's reputation to the continental level, we're in the top 25 richest clubs, we've won the Premier League for two seasons running, and we're heading into our 4th season of Champions League play. We're hardly minnows at this point. :D
# Tom_BcFC : So what do you plan on doing next then mate? It would seem you have achieved a ridiculous amount at Newport County, what's the next step in your career? Are you staying on or will you eventually look to find a new job? :)

I wanted to see if we had more success before I answered this question. After the past few seasons, I'm beginning to think about moving on from Newport ever so slightly. I don't know if I'll actually walk away, though.

I feel like I'm just starting to scratch the surface with what I want to do at Newport. Now that we've reached the highest levels of competition and have our financial situation in order, the goal is to further improve our facilities and become a self-sustaining club. I want to be able to develop youth prospects from within instead of buying them from surrounding teams like we're doing now. I want to have a proper Champions League squad with a full host of homegrown players instead of the 1 I have right now (Hasselbaink).

Things are getting kind of boring, even at this point, however. We win a lot of games without me tinkering with tactics unless we're facing up against a big time squad. I don't much enjoy 8-0 beatdowns that we hand to teams that are in the bottom half of the Premier League table or the designated whipping boy in our Champions League group. I'm more keen to match wits against teams that push us for 90 minutes, even if it results in a loss. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen too often. And with the transfer funds at our disposal (~90m) each season, we could get a hell of a lot better in a hurry if we chose to.

I can see myself leaving for one of two opportunities. I want to coach up a mediocre national team. Either that, or I want to leave Europe altogether and try my hand in the MLS.
hey joannes3000 i think ive found a wonderkind into my fourth season with liverpool, i brought him from my local team walsall as my scout said he is "dubbed the next Peter Crouch" how do you post a picture onto here?
