i manage to win UCL in my 3rd season. 1-0 against barca.
I dont mean to be a killjoy, but I'm really not that bothered that you're smashing everyone with Man United, it's not anything special is it really? Put your talents to the Non-League, that's where it's at! :P x

If you are not bothered why are you reading it? The reason why I started with United is because they are the team I have supported all my life (before they were successful)

Transfer Thoughts

I decided to spend big this year as I want to first create a young quick attacking team and I believe the signings of Mario Götze and Eden Hazard are key to this as they are both young and have fantastic technique. Also I believe they will be at United for many years.

With the signings of Gerard Deulofeo, Alvaro Vadillo, Carlos Fierro and Mateo Kovacic who will all be in my Under 18’s Team this year, which enable my coaches to work with them and then introduce them to the first team over the coming year means I have a conveyer belt of talent.

I also have a few promising youngsters in my Under 18’s who I believe will be future stars such as Adnan Januzaj, Luke McCullough and Mats Moller Daehli and again I will look to introduce them into the first team over the next season.

I also have a couple of older players such as Robbie Brady, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Oliver Norwood, Ravel Morrison, Paul Pogba, Scott Wootton, Michael Keane and Will Keane who have the potential to be good squad players in the future.

I will be looking for a deep lying playmaker (whoever it will really depend on the form of Anderson, if Ryan Giggs retires, how Oliver Norwood develops on loan and how Mats Moller Daehli develops in the Under 18’s) and the one I am keeping tabs on is Javi Martínez. Other players that I am monitoring are Jack Rodwell, Ross Barkley and Kyle Walker as all three a young and have great potential. Also they are English.

Other than the above players I will be using the Barcelona “La Masia” strategy. I know this will take around 5 years to get going (hence the spending now) as I need a base and a solid team that will not need much tinkering and allows me to introduce the youngsters above.
Other News – England won the European Championships beating Spain on penalties. Also applied for the Great Britain Olympic Football Team Manager and got the job.

Transfer News – Released Joe Coll, Berbatov, Kuszczak, Owen, Matt James, Luke Giverin, Ritchie De Laet, and John Cofie. Danny Drinkwater joined Morcambe and Reece Brown joined Doncaster both on free transfers. Ryan Tunnicliffe has joined Port Vale on loan for the season, Oliver Norwood has joined Scunthorpe on loan for the season and Federico Macheda has joined Celtic on a season loan. Finally Liam Jacob decided to leave the club.
Other News – Arsène Wenger has left Arsenal and Guus Hiddink has taken his place. Guus Hiddink was expected to take charge of Chelsea when Andre Villas-Boas was sacked but Louis van Gaal took over the role.
Great Britain Olympic Football Team –

Squad Selected They Are:

Jason Steele - GK
Joe Hart - GK
Kyle Walker - DRC
Chris Smalling - DRC
Phil Jones – DRC, DM, MC
Steven Caulker - DC
Gareth Bale – D/WB/M/AML
Kieran Gibbs – D/WB/M/AML
Jack Rodwell DM, MC
David Beckham - MRC
Jack Wilshere – MRC, AMRLC
Ross Barkley - MC
Aaron Ramsey - MC
Tom Cleverley - M/ARLC
James Forrest – M/AMRL
Theo Walcott – AMR, ST
Jay Rodriguez - ST
Danny Welbeck – ST
I decided that I would go with a 4-2-3-1 formation. In goal I have picked Hart (one of my two over 23’s), as I believe he is the best goalkeeper that is available for team GB. In defence I have gone for players who can play in more than one position, as I know injuries and suspensions will play a part in some games. I have gone for gifted central midfielders who have fantastic passing attributes such as Wilshere and Ramsey. I also have the box-to-box skills of Barkley, Cleverley and Rodwell. I have gone with quick wingers such as Bale, Walcott and Forrest who I will use when countering. I went with Beckham mainly for his passing ability as I was hoping that he could come on later in games a hit long passes to the wingers when countering. With regards to my strikers I decided to go for Welbeck and maybe a surprise choice in Rodriguez. I went for Rodriguez because he is someone who will score more than he misses plus he has very good attributes (with regards to finishing and composure). I have only used two over 23’s in the squad because I feel that I did not want or need anybody else (I know you could say that Rooney would walk into this squad and you would be right but I felt that this was a opportunity for younger players such as Welbeck and Rodriguez to shine).
Olympic News - David de Gea, Javier Hernández and Rafael have also been called up for the respected countries for the Olympics

Great going !!

Just an advice, scout Y Sanogo and Erick Torres and buy them if they are still cheap as they would really turn out to be world class...

You also haven't brought in a back-up for the right back position, so I think you should consider Romario .. as a cheap back up for rafael/fabio + evra is aeging and hence you would need back-up for fabio as well in that left back position... possibly alex sandro, if he is still cheap!

I do not rate Sanogo and I did look at Torres but I decided to go with Fierro. As for the full back positions, I have cover for the RB role as Rafael, Fábio, Smalling, Jones and Keane can all play their. As for the LB role I know Evra is ageing but he is very fit. I want to develop players and not just buy ones in. I have Fábio who I believe will succeed him plus one of my regan players who is young called Kristian Davis who is developing nicely.
