10 year anniversary post.

I have now been in charge at Leeds for 10 good years. This will be my longest update so far, but before I delve in to statistics of what has been accomplished so far, I will first make my normal end of season update.

We celebrated our best league season so far, finishing second. Unfortunately we didn’t accomplish anything remarkable in the domestic cups or the Champions League. Our season in the league was tremendous up until our second game against Man Utd. We lost 4-0 right after being dropped out of the F.A cup in the 6th round by a fortunate Everton side. Our morale was demolished and we struggled from then on, but still managed to keep 2nd position in the league until the end. Before the ManU game we were 1 point behind Arsenal.

Robert Snodgrass has retired from football after serving Leeds for a very long time. A great player who was only recently dropped from the starting eleven due to a change in tactics which didn’t suit him.

Celebrating 10 years in charge of Leeds United A.F.C.

We’ve come a long way, rising up from the Championship, and before I took charge, the Football League 1 and now we find ourselves in the Premier League as one of the best football clubs in England. The players and staff have changed, but the club and the fans remain the same.
Here is the overall best team so far:

Every player in there has been a great player for us and truly deserve this honor.
Here is some general information about the club in the year 2021:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/806/infod.png/
As can be seen, Daniel Sturridge is now a Leeds United icon and Leigh Griffiths has reached the status of a Leeds legend.

Our stadium’s average attendance has been growing very slowly even though a lot of progress has been made. The stadium capacity currently is over 53,000 so no further expansions will be needed for a very long time, if ever.

And assists:

League positions so far:

We also won the League Cup in 2018 and finished as runners up in 2017 and won the F.A. Cup in 2020. Also we finished as runners up in the Euro cup in 2020.

We still have a lot more to achieve and I hope that by the time I will be writing my 20 year update, we have a lot of trophies to be proud of.

Thank you for reading. Comments are greatly appreciated!

Transfers and early season results of the 2021/2022 season.

I made 3 new signings and let a lot of players leave on free transfers.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/27/transfersay.png/
The most notable player to leave was Alberto Paloschi. I would have liked to keep him, but his wage demands were ridiculous. He would not agree a wage of under 100,000 per week so I let him leave and now he earns 43,000 per week at Dortmund.

Cheik Tioté also left, because he didn’t get to start too many games recently, particularly in the last season.

I was sad to see Aidan White leave since he had spent his entire career at Leeds, but I couldn’t find a place for him in the team anymore.

Nuri Sahin left after his contract expired and that was the plan when I signed him last summer. He wasn’t supposed to be a long term solution.

Finally I sold Zakaria Labyad because there is just too much competition in the central midfield at the moment and I thought he was the weakest link.

I broke my own spending record once again with 60 million spent on 2 players. I had to pay a lot for my new playmaker from Olympique Lyonnais, but I think he is worth it.

And then I signed replacement for Paloschi from Stade Malherbe Caen:

And Daniel Sturridge made his return to Leeds and was a much more humble man with his wage demands this time!

We had a great start to the season, picking up 9 points from 3 matches and not conceding a single goal so far.

Arsenal and Man city played to a 1-1 draw so we can enjoy being at the top for the time being.

I am very happy that our youth system has produced a great talent that I hope will be good enough for the Leeds first team in the future. The press have dubbed him as ‘’the new Michael Owen’’.

Thank you :)
We are half-way through the season now with 19 games played and we are doing magnificently. Our great start to the season saw us sit in the top of the league and we haven’t given up our position since. We have only lost one league game so far and as tradition demands it was against Arsenal. I was extremely pleased though that we recorded wins against both Manchester teams. Despite losing against Arsenal at the Emirates, we still hold a comfortable 6 point lead.

Unfortunately we were knocked out of the Champions League by a very narrow margin. It was the first we haven’t qualified for the next stage during my time in charge so it’s big disappointment. It was a hard group and we’re still competing in the Europa League due to finishing third in our group.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/207/eurobn.png/
We have managed to get ourselves in to the league cup semi-final, but we were knocked out of the F.A. cup in the third round by Chelsea.

The transfer window has opened for us once again, but I’m not looking to buy any players because I’ve spent my whole budget and a little more to be honest. I am looking to sell Henri Lansbury, who is very unhappy at the moment, but I’m not prepared to let him go too cheaply so finding a buyer could be hard.
Summary of the 2021/2022 season.

I won my second Manager of the year award.

We just couldn’t hold on to the pole position in the league, but we came very, very close and I’m sure we can win it in the next couple of seasons. Arsenal beat us by a single point and it was extremely frustrating to lose against Everton in the second last game of the season. When looking at the big picture though I think it was a very good season for us. I think we just need to be more consistent in the future and not succumb to these unlucky results that happened in and around January.

We didn’t finish the season without a trophy though, as we won the Europa League for the first time during my time. It was a magnificent final against Atletico Madrid with an absolutely spectacular 8-3 scoreline.

In addition we finished as runners up to Manchester United in the league cup.

I have been given a transfer budget of 38million and wage budget of 1,1 million. We are currently spending about 1 million on wages. I think the team is very strong at the moment, but I will try to look for players that would be beneficial to the team. Mainly I’d like to find a solid centre-back, but there seems to be very few of them. Leeds legend Leigh Griffiths will probably be leaving, along Henry Lansbury and possibly a few others.
Very nice story with one the most historical teams at England.
Keep the good work up ! :D

Yep that's why I like Leeds. Thanks :)
2022/2023 pre-season results and transfers.

I managed to find the centre-back I wanted, although he was not my first choice. I had a few targets in my head, but they either didn’t want to join or their transfer fees were ridiculous. I settled for Pride Chunga from Liverpool. He is already 28 years old and I payed a rather large fee of 17,5million for him, but I think he has quite a few good years ahead of him. He has been very impressive in the friendly matches.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/chunga.png/

I also invested some money on youth again:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/708/rogier.png/

Leigh Griffiths, Henri Lansbury and Tom Lees have left on free transfers. I offered all of them a new contract, but they rejected. It’s hard to keep everyone happy, especially the back-up players.
We had a great pre-season. After a rather weak start to our pre-season against Dundee united, We embarrassed Liverpool by trashing them 7-0 and also put in a very strong performance against Barcelona. We have a solid platform for the competitive season now.
Quite a few of my first-team players are away on international duty on the 10th of august so it could be a problem for our season starter against Everton. I plan to rest my key-players for the EURO Super Cup against Arsenal as I don’t see it as a major achievement, even though a win against Arsenal is always a huge pleasure.

We have been ranked as the top team in Europe in the coefficients table. Obviously It is a pretty poor way of ranking the teams, but it still makes me very proud.
Way to go mate! Those Regens look godlike! (The Defender looks really godlike, he is probably an utter wall) And that Midfielder would look to be a god at set pieces.
I'd reckon that 16 year old will we worth around 20M later on, i'd train him in the set pieces, Long shots, or passing/tackling.

And i think they are right ranking you the best team in europe, good going mate ;).
Very good story mate keep up the good work!
Very nice addition the central defender with very nice stats and the young one looks rly prommising.
I have to mention the dominant win over Liverpool. This must has boosted team's morale.

May i request you a screenshot how Kyriakos Papadopoulos has evolved (DC, starting @Schalke)?
Thanks in advance :D
