The home team, Liverpool started with Carroll from start which surprised everyone. One energized Angel Di María started with a roundabout with two defender where scored with a low but a hard shot from 20 meters that made it 1-0. Otherwise the first half was not a the greatest from the view of the fans. It looked like both teams struggled with heavy feet and Liverpool controlled the match tempo. Carroll did not have a good half but and looked like a player without confidence. What else surprised the fans was Andy running into the pitch after the break.
The second started as the first period started and finished. Slow tempo from both teams. John Guidetti was brought in the 55th minute and from there it was a great and fast Liverpool that took over the match. He looked like a player that was playing his most important match ever. By a nice wall-play with Suárez, Guidetti scored the second goal for pool. From there Blackpool found themselves chasing the ball and attackers to say the least. Even Robinson tried his luck with a n upper post hit that shook the Everton training ground.

A short second of lack of concentration and already celebrating the victory, Blackpool managed to counter attack and trough Taylor-Fletcher score a beautiful header from a cross ball by Miller.
