Adam Walker Gets His First Taste Of Success

Southampton 2-0 Middlesbrough

A convincing win for Southampton with young CB Craig Dawson surprisingly getting both goals for the reds. This was young Adam Walkers first game in charge of Southampton and the young manager claimed he was delighted after Craig Dawsons first two goals for the club, either side of half-time.

Southampton Ease Past Sorry Bristol Rovers

Southampton easily beat Bristol Rovers with two goals from debutante Billy Sharp in the first round of the Carling Cup. Southampton were clear favourites from the start and the scoreline should have been more considering the chances they had. Bristol Rovers didn't trouble goalkeeper Kelvin Davis all night and were overall poor. Rudi Skacel started his first game back in a Southampton shirt and Ched Evans also got his first game for the south coast club.

Bristol City Hold Southampton to a Draw

Southampton and Bristol City came up level pegging in today's match at Ashton Gate after a 1-1 draw. Southampton went ahead due to a inch perfect finish from Jordan Rhodes from 25 yards out but Marvin Elliot equalised for the robins after Southampton failed to defend a corner fully. Southampton are now 5th in the league while Bristol City are currently lying in 18th position.

Southampton Hammer Palace To Continue Unbeaten Season

Crystal Palace succumbed to defeat as Southampton beat them 4-2 at St Mary's Stadium. Palace came back from a goal down twice but still lost as both Billy Sharp and Jordan Rhodes got two goals each. Sean Scannell and Chris Martin both scored for the Londoners but couldn't stop Sharp and Rhodes scoring again.

9-Man Southampton Edge Narrow Win Over Leicester

Southampton edged past Leicester at the King Power Stadium after going down to 9 men. Jack Cork confidently scored his first goal in a saints shirt with a tap-in minutes before half-time. Unfortunately for Southampton, young manager Adam Walker had already made all three substitutes when right back Fraser Richardson came off injured and then, to make matters worse, top scorer Jordan Rhodes also became injured following a dangerous tackle from Paul Konchesky. Southampton are now second in the league while Leicester lie in 20th place.

Youthful Southampton Beat Rampant Reading

Southampton today beat top of the league Reading in a league cup clash. Southampton fielded a young side and also played their youngest ever player, 16 year old Luke Shaw, who played at left-back. The tie could only be decided by a Ched Evans penalty in the dying minutes after Jem Karacan brought down Jose Fonte in the box.

Ward-Prowse Grabs First Goal For Saints As They Beat Hull

Young James Ward-Prowse scored his first ever senior goal as Southampton beat Hull City 1-0. Unfortunately, fortune went to failure for poor Ward-Prowse as he had to come off after getting injured after a clash with Kevin Kilbane. Southampton could have been two up but their goal was chalked off due to a foul on Kilbane by new signing Ched Evans.
